Just wanted to share my great experience here. My little girl Maddie (chihuahua mix) is petrified at the vet. We have been with this hospital for over 5 yrs. We have seen some rough times around the pandemic era. Since then they have made many changes. Went in today for a dental. Big deal for us😉They have a wonderful receptionist, very professional! Then we moved on to Dava. Can’t say enough wonderful things about her! Compassionate, very professional and very thorough!! It made leaving Maddie so much easier. Dr Machado is great! Sense of humor and I like that he will be honest with me. As with any hospital…animal or human you need to stay on top of things. Yes veterinary medicine is pricey, especially in the bay area. Loved that they ran a dental special making you feel less “gouged”
Another strong point is I have been able to get appts very quickly & thats huge

Always friendly and timely, very straightforward but kind at the same time. Honestly exactly what I look for. I’ve been going to this place for over a decade and it always stays, well good!

I'm new to the area and I called 10 different vets and they are the only one with availability in the area. At first I was a little suspicious. But the first appointment went great. They are communicative, caring and gets the job done. The price also seems reasonable (but maybe it's because I'm already used to high prices from the city).

I liked the way they behave and try to explain everything to you. Not long waiting time, very respectful and responsive.

I absolutely LOVE this pet hospital! I live in Mountain View but make the commute to Belmont because the service and care provided to my dog is exceptional! Pets are treated like human beings and provided the best care. My dog is always excited when I tell him we’re going to the vet! The hospital is clean, organized, and you can tell the staff enjoy working there. They treat their customers like royalty, both the pets and their owners.

Do yourself a favor and start coming here! Trust me! It’ll be worth it!

Compassionate Doctor. $327 to euthanize and cremate my sick cat.

We have been taking our dogs here for care and boarding for 20 years. Earlier this year a lot of longtime employees left and we were told that boarding was no longer available, which was a drag and made me wonder whether it would continue to be the loving and safe place to care for my dog. But, we had to take our dog who until recently had been going here his whole life (6 years), in to check on some symptoms. We found out he had end stage cancer, and we had to put him down. The new receptionist is very nice and efficient, the new (to us) vet gave us good advice. When the horrible time came, the vet, the receptionist/tech and another male tech made our "family" as calm as we could feel. They surprised us with something the next day with a really heartfelt note, telling us our dog loved us. I couldn't believe it! When I called to thank them, the person who answered the phone said that they remembered our dog; he was one of a kind (he was!) so I guess that some of the longtime staff remain. Sometimes when there is a significant change in staff a business changes, but I continue to recommend BPH based upon this experience. If we get another dog, we plan to continue to take them to BPH.

My pet is well treated here. Every staff member is very friendly.

Excellent care during unusual times. A vet tech comes to your car to have you fill out paperwork, then the Dr. comes out to talk about what's happening with your pet. He/she will take your pet inside for examination and then will come back out to talk to you again. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Machado and his kindness, patience and professionalism.

Our 5 year old cat has been dealing with a nail bed infection for over three weeks now. We took him to another vet where a clip and clean, round of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicine, and 3 hour stay at the hospital totaled over $500.00. Despite following instructions, our cat's infection was not improving.

We made an appointment with Belmont Pet Hospital and was able to be seen within days.

Dr. Ackerman was refreshingly kind and professional - she took her time with our kitty and also took into consideration our financial restraints. I felt no focus on monetary advancement, but true care for our cat and us as owners.

We made care plan A and plan B, ensuring we felt comfortable with each step and answered all questions thoroughly. And, she even offered to assist us via email (without having to pay for an additional visit).

Needless to say, we highly recommend using Belmont Pet Hospital for your animal care.

My little pup had a foot injury and was hobbling around. I had used BPH a few times before for normal puppy appoinments but my dog had never needed to be seen for an injury or illness.

Dr. Machado was able to see him the same day. After checking him out he prescribed some pain management medication and ointment and patched him up. Within 3 days Hank was running around and back to his old self. I am very happy with the service and care. Thank you to the entire staff and I definitely recommend this clinic.

the best care! the folks here work tirelessly to make sure your pet is in top shape. they've worked with me and my dog to make going to the vet a less traumatic experience. the doctors and techs do a really great job of explaining what is going on and any options you have. really love this vet!!

I've been going there for 20 years. Dr Akerman is WONDERFUL and most compassionate vet I'veever had. The whole staff is great. But Deb is my favorite person. She greets u with a smile even though she has phones ringing off the hook and people lined up in the waiting room. She's just the best!!

You definitely get your money's worth. I've brought rodents, dogs, and cats here and have been satisfied every time. They are great about answering questions, even over the phone, and do their best to give you as many options as possible for both your pet and your wallet.

I drive farther to go to Belmont then my local vet because they have someone who specializes in smaller pets there every day (as opposed to some places which only have dog and cat people most days.)
The whole staff is great - from the receptionists to the vets.

I highly recommend Belmont Pet Hospital. We left San Carlos Pet Hospital because I felt they did unnecessary testing on our dog for a common diagnosis, and I have never been happier with the choice to go to Belmont. Every vet we have seen has been professional, can explain things to me in terms I can understand, they are reasonable with their fees, and are very trustworthy. We have two medium size dogs that we bring here. 10 stars!!

Very knowledgeable vets and staff. Friendly and easy to book appointments. They also work with small animals. I have been bringing my pets here for over 20 years.

Dr Ackerman is the best, the rare Vet who is excellent with both pets and humans. Sadly this was not a good visit but I could not think of anybody better to coordinate Jessie's final journey after her most unexpected death!
