Oceanic Restaurant

Service was really friendly. Atmosphere is very cozy and the food is great. If you want hot pot this is a spot you should drop by!! If you have a large party these guys can hook you up for reservations for the entire place just like we did :)

When there was a knock at our door not 15 min after we ordered, I said it couldn't be our order, but lo' and behold! The walnut shrimp, general tso's chicken, and egg fried rice were all delicious and since we got over $35, we got free crab rangoon. Would order again.

Very clean and tasty Chinese food, no msg here! Great for lunch (check out the specials) and dinner!

When I came here I ordered the chicken chow mien and orange chicken. Each entree was about $11 but it was worth it. I ordered to go and both entrees came in a circular black plate with a plastic lid. Some may consider reusing the plate after washing it as it is fit to serve a variety of other uses, a nice bonus in my opinion.

The orange chicken was tangy with a hint of orange from the slices it was cooked with (which is something that other places lack). The chicken was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. It resulted in a wholesome part of the meal. The orange chicken was cooked with tiny strips of onion that further emphasized it’s great flavor.

The chicken chow mien was also pretty good, as it proved to be a hearty entree with plenty of vegetables. The flavor was enjoyably salty and it kept making me want more.

The soy sauce and fortune cookies come within a tiny bag that includes a copy of the menu and some chopsticks. I also got some complementary egg-rolls and dipping sauce with my order. It was much appreciated!

I will definitely come back here when I have the chance. Keep up the good work!

Lately I've ordered through one of the apps with delivery. The food is consistently good so I decided to drop by on my way home. Much to my surprise it's a restaurant I went to for years. I always thought it was called Jade something or other. Imagine my surprise it is Oceanic. The food and service are still excellent and parking is still sketchy. But the restaurant was clean including the bathroom and kitchen. Nice to see an old friend again. Anything with prawns is out of this world.

This restaurant is very good. I loved their service, it was extremely friendly and the people serving us were very helpful. The food itself was pretty good. The spice was blended nicely and the fried rice was amazing. The only qualm I had was that the food was served at room temperature. After the first round of eating, it lost most of its heat and temperature. However, overall, it was well done. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

We went and didn't realize it was take out only, and they felt bad we were standing waiting (which is normal/expected). The food came out sooo fast and was quite tasty! I was happy to see the many vegetarian options too.

The Walnut Prawns were incredibly delicious. They were out of the dessert I wanted and I chose Crab rangoon instead.....
More expensive.....but they gave it to me for the price of the dessert!!! AND they also gave me an appetizer on the house. Truly...even without those things I still would have given 5 stars as the food was so good. I lived in Alaska for over a decade and I know a beautifully cooked prawn when I eat one. They do not know this was my first time with Oceanic. I will eat there often. It was just so fresh tasting and. Yummy! Can not wait to dine in. Will be taking friends and family there

Amazing and sweet people. Their shrimp fried rice was absolutely divine (I get mines with extra shrimp and extra peas and carrots😍😍😍)and packed with flavor. Definitely give them a try!

Best Chinese found around, hands down. The Egg Fu Yong is amazing, and so are the Walnut Prawns. We usually get some noodles too, and sometimes a vegetable dish. I love the Crab Rangoon and Green Onion Pancake too. Most of the time we get it delivered, but if you have the chance, definitely go in person. It's so good when it comes out fresh.

This place was amazingly delicious, the service was impeccable AND they surprised us with an appetizer AND dessert on the house! I've never had that happen at a restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend this place! We are from out of town and picked it from yelp while attending a conference at the San Mateo Event Center, it was the perfect end to our evening!

Visiting this area of California for the first time, ordered this online around 8 pm. I definitely thought it would take awhile. It arrived hot and fresh at the door around 9! And complimentary egg rolls! Wow 10/10! Love this place! Thank you!🙏

Fantastic food especially the soup! Homemade and it shows! Also they give you free spring rolls when dining in. Kung Pao chicken was great too! The service also very good. Small place charm with some very good dishes! Highly recommend!

Food is delicious, best Chinese food we have found in San Mateo

I tried to express my excellent experience with oceanic restaurant through yelp but yelp Failed me miserably for wasting my honestly good review and lost it. So now im using this google review and hope other customers will see it. As a visitor from other state and staying at the hotel so far this restaurant is the Best chinese restaurant to me! Its been raining hard since yesterday out here and hence the dalay. Kevin handled the situation very well ( esp. dealing with difficult person like me ) and provided an exceptional customer service and offered me a free lunch special meal and delivered my food to my hotel personally! The food was unexpectedly delicious and I cant believe i finished it all! I cant wait to try their other dishes next time im in the area. Other visitors, I hope you find this very useful and dont forget to ask for their special hot sauce if you like to spice up your food :) Thanx again Kevin and Oceanic restaurant for the awesome experience! Im a very satisfied customer!

Our favorite Chinese place in San Mateo by far. Get delivery almost every week :) Food is even better when you dine there, but delivery is still great. They always give you free spring rolls too (and ice cream if you eat there!). General tso's, garlic eggplant, kung pao tofu, chicken w/mixed vegetables, chow fun with beef, veggie fried rice - basically our order every time haha

Good comfort Chinese food. Some of our favorites include garlic eggplant, basil chicken. Delivery to redwood shores for $3 or so. Pro tip - call to order delivery rather than use one of the apps.

A nice little hidden jem for Chinese Food. I believe you can only get takeout right now but the food was good and was made very fast. The woman taking my order was very nice and chirpy. I'd recommend this to all locals and to all travelers.

We've been eating here for many years and the food has always been, great! The staff is very attentive and pleasant, we can't wait until they open back up.
