Taipei Chinese Restaurant

Taipei is my favorite Chinese restaurant. The best Hot & Sour soup in Pittsburgh. The best Peking Duck in Pittsburgh. The staff are always so pleasant! And the sushi and sashimi are top notch. Thank you for being my favorite!!

Great people running this restaurant since 1985. Food is delicious. Will be back.

Really extensive menu. We ordered one dish from each including a sushi boat. We were not disappointed. Plenty of food, good quality/fresh, and well-plated. We had two small children dining too and they had a blast off the kids menu. Service was excellent, bathrooms nice too. Couldn't really ask for more.

Delicious. Stopped for lunch today. Had the shrimp tempura and crab Rangoon for appetizers.. got the General Tsos lunch special. Even the egg roll was amazing. Service was top notch. Definitely a new fave.

My husband and I were out and hungry. First we were going to go to a different restaurant but it was filthy. So glad we came here instead. This place is so clean. The portions were very generous and the quality was great. We will be coming back! I love this family owned restaurant with a happy and cozy atmosphere. I think this will be our new spot. I’ve been struggling to find good quality Asian food around us, but I think I finally found it!

A family favorite of ours. We have eaten here many times and love the food, but also the consistently excellent service and hospitality always makes it nice to eat here. Very large menu, everything always tastes fresh.

One of the best restaurants. An institution located just about 20 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh. Has been open for decades.
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean and cozy atmosphere. Casual and kid friendly.
Big menu with authentic Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. I always get an eggroll and shrimp fried rice -the best of both in the city. Fresh, made to order sushi is always tasty. And the steamed veggie dumplings are hand made, sticky dough bundles stuffed with glass noodles and minced veggies and tofu. They are sooo good. Trust me you will leave here very satisfied.

The BEST sushi in Pittsburgh AND the BEST general tsos chicken in Pittsburgh! I drive 1 hour round trip just to get food here. They also offer Uber eats too if you want delivery! Thank you Taipei for your continued hard work and dedication to serving the community

Wonderful Chinese restaurant.Last date here in the 1990s when I lived in Pittsburgh.It is still as goodNow in 2020 as it isIt was in the 1990s. I had the sweet and sour chicken and spring rolls. The company I was with had sushi . All was very good! I submitted this review in September of 2020 and somehow it got deleted. I Had to resubmit this review.

Excellent General TSO's Chicken the chicken is always crispy. Very efficient service. Sushi is good thou it is a bit pricey. Tasty egg rolls and fried dumplings. There are a lot of menu items to select from.

Taipei is a pittsburgh classic. Really hold food, solid sushi. The best egg rolls around. It's looking a little dated inside, but they have a great staff, so you have to let the 80's vibe slide

Taipei is by far the best sushi and Chinese restaurant in the Fox Chapel area. The servers are courteous and the specialty sushi rolls are noticeabley larger and tastier than Jimmy Wan's located down the street. In my opinion, Taipei also offers a better selection than Jimmy Wan's. We also appreciate Taipei's complimentary fried wontons served before each meal and orange slices provided at the end of service. This family-friendly restaurant always make us feel at home.

The restaurant was pretty quiet as it was Halloween, and most people were busy with other activities. The food and service were exceptional. I look forward to returning and trying many other dishes.

Visited yesterday for the 1st time since the early 90's. Just as good as I remembered. Since then they added the sushi bar and was a great addition. A sushi appetizer with veggie roll was a great way to start the meal. Had the Kung pao chicken. Tasty with huge portion so I have enough for a dinner meal this week. Definitely stop by and enjoy when you're shopping in the waterworks area

My favorite restaurant. This time around, though, my spring roll was dry and overcooked. Staff is always great!

Absolutely amazing food and service at this restaurant. The staff is caring, you can tell that they care about your experience whether you are getting takeout, or you're there to eat for the afternoon. I recommend you stop by if you're hungry for any kind of this cuisine --- they're a delicacy!

There is a reason that this is my family's favorite Chinese style restaurant. Their service is top notch and the waiters move quickly while also anticipating your needs. They have great cooks who make some of the best versions of Chinese staples you can get and even some Taiwanese style specials too. If I had to find one thing for the restaurant to improve it might be that their space is a bit limited. Overall though this restaurant is family-owned and we feel like they treat us like family's should!

My boyfriend and I ate here last night and loved it. The menu is huge an a bit overwhelming but, the food tasted great and came out quickly. We got amazing chicken and it was so crispy. We also got their dumplings and they were amazing the dough was so thick and delicious, great flavor! Also the woman who served us was so kind and even gave us extra rice just for our leftovers. Service is the best! We will be back.

I have been dying for good Chinese food for a long time. Having never been to Taipei, we decided to take a chance. Boy, what a wonderful surprise! From the cleanliness of the place to the warmth and friendly staff to the delicious lunch we clearly chose wisely! So very good and the lunch portions were huge! Cant wait to stop again.

General Tso chicken is absolutely the best I've had. This place is very classy, friendly, and cozy.
