Kroger

The quality and quantity is slightly less than the one in Christiansburg, but it’s still a solid grocery store where I normally get my groceries from. The shelves are usually well stocked and the produce is fresh. The staff are also very helpful, especially when I encounter issues at the self-checkout machines. It does feel a little understaffed at times, but that might just be due to me shopping at late nights.

I am writing this post because of one special employee, Bill! I have been helped in the produce section twice by Bill and I just think he is outstanding. He went out of his way to find the produce I needed right when I was dreading making second stop, he appeared out of nowhere after I left the produce section with the perfect English cucumber. I just wanted to thank him once more and let the Kroger team know how helpful he was to me. 3 cheers for Bill!!

Great variety of foodstuff and other home and personal items

Love this store, very convenient location. I like to use the pickup order on the app & website. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

This is my favorite kroger and where I get all my produce. Yes it's a smaller store but the huge kroger down the road is so overwhelming and it's hard to find what you want. This smaller kroger is always well stocked and I can always find what I'm looking for. They have some varities of fresh sushi for $5 on Wednesdays. I can also usually find some good marked down items for a good deal. You can tell the manager really cares about the appearance of the store because it's clean and organized. Their deli dept is really helpful with questions and there's a huge selection of cheeses and prepared food. A lot of their prices are actually cheaper than Walmart.

Pharmacy is the best with carrying staff. Staff turnover has been minimal so each time we go pickup our medications, they know us by name and have our prescriptions ready. We've been going to this Kroger for over 6 years now.

Best Kroger in Blacksburg, Radford or Christiansburg in my opinion. I never have to wait for a self-checkout register. The pickup staff are friendly and pleasant. One of the employees especially has been helpful at times when I've needed help finding a specific item. I believe their names is Lilly and they should definitely get a raise for how helpful and friendly they are!

Friendly workers. Although I do have one complaint. I am now in a wheelchair due to medical conditions. I was at the cat food getting ready to get my cats food and there was a stock boy in the same isle. As I started out away from the shelf, I had to stop as the stock boy had stopped in front of me and was stocking the shelf. He made no move to get out of my way, and I had to wait while he finished stocking the food he was stocking. So very rude and inconsiderate. The next isle over I was greated by a nice young man who was stocking as well. He told me that I needed him to help me get anything for me to just let him know. So nice and polite. I guess they were not at the same training class or one of them slept during orientation. I shop multiple times a week at this store.

This location is by far my favorite Kroger in the area. It is organized and has a great selection of beer, wine, and fresh produce and meats. The floor staff almost always goes out of their way to greet customers and ask if they need assistance. Highly recommend!

Renne helped us at the check out line and it was by far the best grocery experience I had ever had! My group of girls needed extra assistance and he delivered service with a smile and some quick math! That man deserves a raise! Will be coming back! Thanks everyone!

My husband buys me cut flowers 2 or 3 times a week. They are always beautiful and far better than ANY bouquet from most florists in our area. The young lady who is there is kind and helpful

Really the best Kroger around. The bigger Kroger on the other side of town has more variety of the same items but no new items. So, if this Kroger doesn't have something, bigger Krogers also doesn't. Overall, I am happy with their stocks

This kroger may be called the “ghetto kroger” but it’s really just a colloquial thing. The location is great and the exterior of the building has some nice details. It is a bit smaller than the other kroger in blacksburg but it does just fine! Hit this one up for sure.

Good selection, great deli. The fried chicken is a deal!!! Staff always friendly and helpful. The store does a $%-+load of business considering how small it is. Open 24/7!!

I shop here for all my groceries. Not as big as the other Kroger but it has everything you’ll need.
They have a great wine selection - Dennis the sommelier gave a kind and nuanced wine suggestion.

The very best service, the best employees, the widest selection of groceries to be found, and this includes International foods. Bakery, deli, meats, seafood, buffets, a large selection of cheeses, big frozen foods section, dairy, houseware/ hardware/laundry detergents, household cleaning, automotive supplies, produce, floral department, pharmacy. This store moves its goods. Expiration dates tend to be well into the future. Open 24/7. High tech, Scan, bag and go, automated check-out handles college customers. Everyone shops here!

Kroger University Blacksburg has the best produce in town! Wide variety of top quality, very fresh green vegetables, turnips, potatoes, tomatoes, your choice!
As to Fresh Fruit, they have only the very freshest and best - Apples, Grapes, Bananas, Clementine Oranges, Lemons, just to name a few of their many options in available Fresh Fruit!
Kroger University Blacksburg has the best Floral Shop in this area. They stock many bouquets of incredibly beautiful, fresh cut flowers, and no other supermarket or even any florist in this area can touch Kroger University Blacksburg as to the wide variety and immediate availability to meet all of your Floral needs. Of course, their prices for flowers are very reasonable, and you will not find better prices for flowers anywhere else.
They have a staffed desk in their Floral Shop, and they will trim the stems on your purchased bouquets per your request.
Make it a point to purchase Fresh Flowers at least every week, and your Home will reflect a bright mood! 😎

This is my neighborhood store! I am very thankful for the great selection and fantastic sale prices, frequently listed. I also like being able to get gas points, electronic-coupons and frequent customer reward points!

Really busy on Monday evenings when the school semester begins but generally pretty pleasant if you go at the right hours. The selection of food choices is decent.

Kroger University Blacksburg and Kroger South Main Blacksburg are the finest, warehouse sized, large variety supermarkets in the Blacksburg area - from basic grocery needs, household/personal necessities to gourmet foods. These stores are of the very tip top quality in the grocery industry. Specialty areas include pharmacy, meat-seafood, dairy, frozen, bakery, deli with various prepared buffet selections, produce, floral, wine aisle/shop, beer aisle, International. Seasonal merchandise, big candy section, large on greeting card options, household - laundry, cleaners, hardware, automotive, school & office are all major in force at these two stores.
Different management teams - but same philosophy and insistence on the very best in grocery shopping for you - the customer.

Close, convenient, and competitive prices. We've pretty much eliminated Wal-mart from our shopping routine. Plus, the feul points are a huge plus. If you use Netflix, Hulu, or shop online with Amazon, but gift cards at Kroger and get double, sometimes quadruple feul points. The folks there are almost always friendly and helpful. And they support local nonprofit organizations with fundraising.
