Wonderful practice. Dr. Deb Hutchins did a wonderful job with my lumpectomy for breast cancer, and answered all my questions, and eased my mind. Great follow up after surgery. Staff at the office has been top notch as well. I like the fact you can go on Fridays when it is not crowded at all. She and her staff never make me feel rushed, and she is always willing to listen. She communicates well, and I really felt comfortable and cared for.

I had one of the best experiences of my healthcare journey at this practice. After hearing I was a high risk patient, I was obviously nervous. I was able to quickly schedule a consult (next-day), they had all my images, had reviewed them, the NP met with me, did an exam, discussed my risk factors, answered questions, discussed next steps/appointments, and then went and got the surgeon so I could meet him just in case I ever need to go that route. Everything was perfectly coordinated with my hospital/imaging visit the week before. This is absolutely the way healthcare should be and I can’t stop telling everyone about. Well done!

Have been very pleased with the staff and their cooperating with all the paperwork involved including a request for FMLA. Dr. Smith is an amazing listener While not looking forward to surgery I and my daughter feel very happy with him. In addition he has an excellent reputation which is always makes things easier

BEST CARE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. I wish I could give 10 stars! I was so relieved to be treated with concern and respect by the team here, because I'd been to other hospitals complaining about this pain and they'd all told me I was exaggerating!

Not here.... The team listened, sympathized, and within 24 hours of my first visit, Dr. Smith and Ms. Barb had me in the hospital getting my gallbladder removed–a very simple solution to a problem that other doctors totally missed, but it was identified immediately in my first appointment with Dr. Smith.

I called with questions about my medication during office hours and received a call back within 20 minutes. They are all very knowledgeable and never made me feel dumb for asking questions. In every interaction, I was treated with dignity and respect.

The surgery was very quick. Today is Day 2 of recovery and I am happy to say that my incisions are very tiny and are definitely going to fade nicely. Afterwards, Dr. Smith came in and spoke to me with care and compassion when I woke up and provided much needed comfort and reassurance. They were all so understanding, patient, and professional. I hope I never have to have another organ removed, but if I do, I will be going to Richmond Surgical without a doubt!

Dr. Carter is the best! I recently had to have breast surgery and I can honestly say I felt secure in his knowledge and expertise. He is also very kind, gentle and takes the time to explain everything. He isn't in a rush to get you in and out. I will definitely recommend Dr. Carter and Richmond Surgical to my family or anyone I know that needs general surgery.

I was a new patient at Richmond Surgical-Forest. I was treated as though I were an old friend from the first to the last time I was there. The entire staff, from Doctor Richard Carter all the way through the nurses were professional, courteous and helpful. Being 84 years-old I had a few questions and concerns. They completely answered everything to my satisfaction. The hernia procedure went smoothly and without complications and I had very little pain. After two weeks I went in for a post op examination by Ellen Cassidy PA. She answered all my questions about any activity limits that I would have, and when I could go back to my normal routine. I highly recommend all the personnel connected with my operation !

I met with Susan Uhle for my 6 month follow-up visit. She takes time making her assessment and in asking about any concerns or changes in my previous 6 months. All of the staff are great as well. They are always helpful and friendly. They make my day so much better.

I appreciate Dr. Debra Hutchins knowledgeable care. She is always in a good spirit. The staff is on point . I never had to wait more then 5 minutes the Doctor is always on time with appointments.

I was so grateful to get the recommendation from a friend who is also a nurse anesthetist to Richmond Surgical and specifically Dr. Carter and his team. Upon being diagnosed with breast cancer there is so much information to gather. It was being offered from everyone as well as my own research and it was overwhelming. When my friend who works with many surgeons recommended Dr. Carter I placed her opinion over all others and was able to get in to see him that afternoon!

His bedside manner is calming and warm and I trust he his one of the best in town for breast surgery based on the referral, his training and experience with an additional year studying plastic surgery. Reconstruction is an important part of the mastectomy process and having a surgeon who has taken time in their studies to learn about that stage gave me additional comfort that not only would I rid myself of the disease, but I would be in great hands to have visually appealing final results after a dramatic surgery. I have also been very pleased with his collaboration with my oncologist and his entire team, including the nursing staff especially Susan Uhle, CNP, who assisted and informed me about the genetic testing piece of my diagnosis. The port surgery was an easy and smooth recovery and my scar, placed strategically under where by bra or swim suit strap will be is healing beautifully.

I’m only 2 months into my journey, but feel like I am in the best hands with Richmond Surgical.

This is being shared through my husband's Google account. I have had a very positive experience. There was a miscommunication between the person (not with Richmond Surgical) who set up an appointment for me and me, but the doctor helped resolve the issue and was able to get me on the surgery schedule in a timely manner. He was very apologetic about the misunderstanding, but it was not his fault. I had surgery, which went well. I would recommend Richmond Surgical without a doubt.

I have been a patient of Dr. Clifford Deal since April 2016 after a devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. He is a hugger and hand-holder and genuinely cares. The entire staff at Richmond Surgical is professional and caring. We highly recommend them.

I always leave Richmond Surgical feeling reassured. The front desk staff, medical staff, and check out staff are all helpful and friendly. Dr. Carter is a caring as well as very thorough surgeon. He is willing to answer questions and share his knowledge by drawing diagrams and giving statistics.

Appointments almost always run on time. Dr Carter and PA Ellen are kind and compassionate while also be efficient. It's a difficult combination which they seem to have mastered. I am blessed to be in their care.

Highly competent staff using the best virus prevention office procedures. Friendly and helpful team made me very comfortable and less anxious during a surgery assessment.

Excellent office, from check-in to check-out was smooth. Dr. Carter and his nurse were excellent! I went on a Wednesday and had my results first thing Monday morning. I would highly recommend this office.

Did not have to wait long to get in to see the Dr. She was thorough and offered me two options and let me pick which option I wanted to do. I did feel a smidge rushed but hey my appt WAS at 4:00 pm. Good visit though and would go back if necessary.
