Finally got a chance to partake at VTC, every time we tried in the past there was always a function going on. First off, kudos to Susan, she was a great host and server and attended to our party's needs without hesitation, she was also very knowledgeable about the beer on tap and all the wines. Thanks Susan for being so personable and enjoying your job. Kelly another staff member was also so cheerful and a great sport. Crab dip and French bread were great, the beer on tap was great and as was most of the wines we tried. Great place with fantastic decor right on the river. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Definitely one of the coolest spots in town -- and hard to believe an oasis like this is in Farmville! Excellent wines, large, assorted variety, and expert staff that can "speak wine" and point you in the perfect direction. It's my go-to for trying something new, just grabbing a glass with friends, or to get the perfect pairing for what I'm cooking that night. Bravo!

What’s a perfect spot to spend the afternoon, even in winter. The heaters made it feel like a warm spring day! Sunlit cozy on the river, laying in a pillow stuffed swing the size of a bed. Enjoyed the bubbly Rosé, a bit dry which I loved, and a mulled red wine, cozy and a little sweet/tart. Fireplaces, Edison lights and cozy wood/stone decor gave the perfect finishing touches to this lovely spot. Definitely a must-see for casual ambiance and a great spot to connect with friends/loved ones.

My husband and I had a great time enjoying wines and brews and even a cider from places all around Virginia. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and seemed genuinely happy to be working with the customers. Afterwards, they gave use dinner recommendations to a place with the most delicious food. We genuinely enjoyed it and would love to come back sometime!

This place is so cool. The folks are very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. We sat outside and the patio was nice with beautiful views. The wine was excellent, we bought 3 bottles!

Really great experience. 10 samples and a tasting glass for a very reasonable price. Probably the best reason to come here is getting to sample from multiple wineries in one location. Lots of different wines to choose from and the setting is fantastic. Check out the deck overlooking the stream!

Had a leisurely lunch today and was treated to exceptional service by Lindsey and the crew at the Virginia tasting cellar are excellent. Enjoyed a red wine flight and cobb salad and hubby had the chicken BLT. The food was excellent amd the ambiance perfect for an afternoon by the river. The entire team came by to check on us numerous times and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Spent a few hours in the rocking chairs eating and drinking regional wine. Highly recommend the Taft Meritage is you like full body dry reds.

Great view of the water. Live music was good. Place had a VERY NICE and CLEAN bathroom. The strawberry wine was DELICIOUS ❤ The food from Charley's was EXCELLENT too!

This was a very nice place and the service was really outstanding. My wife and I sampled many Va. beers, wines and ciders and the ladies working were informative and extremely helpful and generous. It was a great experience and we could not recommend it more highly. This is a great option to a single winery or microbrewery.

The staff here is always amazing and a great variety of Virginia wines available. No outside food allowed, but they offer plenty of snacks to keep you satisfied while you enjoy a glass or bottle on the covered porch. A must visit!

Someone told me that there was a “wine tasting cellar in Farmville” and I said “what the where now?”. But it was true. Tucked away under a restaurant is an actual wine cellar where you get to drink actual wine on the river in pretty much any weather you want to drink in. Remember when you used to hang out “on the river” and drank cheap rose you picked up at a gas station? Yeah this isn’t anything like that and really only has “river” and “rose” in common. You can sample excellent Virginia wines at a bunch of tasting booths, you can walk in an ooh-and-aah at the rustic-yet-refined decor, you can step out on the patio and immediately see it hosting your engagement party and making all of your friends deeply jealous because YOU found a place that has amazing wine (check!), amazing staff like Leigh that entertain everyone in their immediate radius (check!), an ambiance to die for (check!), A FREAKING PORCH SWING BED (check!), live music (check!), a restaurant that sends down CRAB DIP that quite honestly I would be content to eat for the rest of my life (check!) and a river like 5 feet away (check!). Or you can just come and soak it in and Instagram it like the rest of us jaded divorcees. Whatever. Just go, you won’t regret it. Order the crab dip and drink the wine. You’re welcome.
