PJ's Burger Barn

Okay so my parents have lived walking distance from this place for 20 years and this was our first time here. Everyone was excited to find out they do fish fry.

Food: literally everything was underseasoned (PLEASE let your cooks know that they're allowed to use salt!!). Having said that, other than lack of seasoning, the food was pretty good.

Service was great - we sat outside with a nice view of the lake and our server was very attentive.

You will not find a cheaper fish fry in the Minocqua area! Good bang for your buck.

Clam chowder: the flavor was good but it was the consistency of jello. Please thin out of the clawlm chowder to be less weird.

We didn't order burgers, but good note for any non-beef eaters that all their burgers are able to sub grilled chicken in for.

This is my first visit in a few years, and I have to say that I will definitely be back. We were a group of 6 people, and we all thought our meals were great. If you like burgers you need to come here, there are so many choices, you are sure to find one that you will love.
The service was great, the prices are very reasonable and the new remodel looks fantastic.
I know we will be back, and I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Excellent char-broiled cheeseburger specialty bacon, mushrooms, onions and a fish fry with plenty of left overs. Yum! Delicious. Chippers and fries and a super friendly waitress. 5 stars! See you next time with friends. Thank you.

My dad and I went today for the last Fish Fry of the year. We each ordered the $12.95 fish fry (2 fairly large pieces of beer battered deep fried fish - about 1.5"x1"x5.5") and ordered an extra piece for an extra $2. With included fries and a bowl of clam chowder I could barely finish it all. Dad couldn't even eat all of his.

The fish was excellent. Cooked perfectly and very mild flavor. The fries were solid. The chowder had good flavor but consistency was really thick, more like homemade jam than soup, which was a little off-putting but in the end the solid flavor won out for me.

Service was excellent. Really friendly, fun, and polite waitress who checked in with us frequently. Food came quickly.

Atmosphere was Northwoods perfect. Very casual. The interior is all knotty pine and rustic. We were seated in a booth in the back with a perfect view of the lake behind the restaurant. Got to watch a gorgeous sunset as an eagle flew by (not making that up) while we waited for our food. It was November, but there is a patio out back with horseshoe pits for summertime. There is a bar but we didn't take advantage of it.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience and it was a great value. $33 for 2 meals and a beverage, plus another meal from the 2 pieces we took home as leftovers. Note: the place is obviously a burger joint first and foremost and had like 15 different burgers on the menu.

After a weekend up north, coming home on Labor Day most places were either closed or ridiculously busy. The burger barn caught our attention so we pulled in. There was no wait, our host was welcoming and informative. Our waitress was so sweet. But honestly the burgers were 10/10, best burgers we’ve had at a restaurant. My husband said “we’re gonna have to remember this place next time we’re up” Can’t wait to be back, and it really has me wondering why this place wasn’t packed to the gills. We will take advantage of it while we can.

Love!! One of our favorite restaurants in this area. Food is amazing, so many options. We always stop in when we visit. The remodel is gorgeous! The staff here is phenomenal. So friendly and makes visiting so fun!

Newly remodeled with an outside seating area. Good burgers, good Fry's and a very nice staff. Food was served hot and the order was correct.

Love PJ's burger barn. Lots of burger to choose from. Was able to get my lady to try something different for a change too! She was going to get a boring bacon cheeseburger when I talked her into the sticky burger which has peanut butter.....for once she's glad she took my advice. I had the black n blue burger which I love how much blue cheese they give you. I personally recommend the chips over the fries. I've been here many times while hunting. It was great to come during the summer for once.

This place is a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere it feels haha. Legit 90% of the menu is burgers and you will want to try them all!!!!

Great selection of burgers to meet anybody’s appetites. Good selection of excellent beer. Nice atmosphere.

Great burgers! Homemade chips were delicious! Service was terrific! Throwing your peanut shells on the ground is always fun!

Great place to eat, Pam the owner was great from answering questions on the phone to cooking up an Amazing fish fry which included many extras like Clam chowder & Lasagna soup. Lexi (I hope that was her name was Awseome as well. We hear the burgers are worth the stop. While you're waiting for food or table, play some horse shoes or walk down by the water.

Fantastic! Finally tired of supper clubs lol, just needed a burger! Newly remodeled, Lara was great fun. Good burgers!

Friendly staff. Great burgers with lots of variety. We had to wait but we were informed as soon as we walked in that there was a large group ahead of us and we were kept up to date.

Fun atmosphere, great burgers and sandwiches, loved the homemade chips...pleasant service. Liked having peanuts as soon as you sit down and the pair of readers on every table was a nice touch.

Awesome burgers! I've tried almost every single one of the special burgers even the one with peanut butter! Plus No mosquitoes if you want to eat outside!

Been driving past this place for years when we come in from out of town. I'm so glad we finally stopped for takeout. They have so many burgers to choose from. The two we got were both delicious! They also have something called onion frills, crispy little fried onions strings, and they are to die for! Can't wait to pass through again. What a gem! Super great service too! Cash and check only.
