Lovely and quaint family style diner. The owner is very friendly as well as the staff. I tried the days special, which was a Cuban. My goodness! It was delicious! The potatoes salad tastes like it was homemade. I went back to work and told my coworker about this diner, so they tried and liked it too. I will come back when I am in the area.

Great little hidden gem here in gulfport. Service is friendly, we got two club sandwiches, one all turkey, an iced tea and two bags of chips for about $18, which is a fantastic price in my book. Breakfast looks good and prices are very fair. I'll definitely be back.

Stumbled upon this lovely little place today. I have passed this dozens of times without even knowing it was there! Now that I know, I will be there regularly. Had the good fortune do meet Miz Jax (presumably the owner) and find out that in addition to making some amazing food, she also is a positive force in the community who lends a hand to those who have fallen upon hard times.

The meal was wonderful, the conversation more so.

Stopped by with the family to meet the crazy lady running this place and we will be back! Ms. Jax knows her craft. This hole in the wall has the kind of food and service that will have us back on Monday to try out the lasagna (they have a zucchini "noodle" option, Y'all).
They have GLUTEN FREE bread and wraps, and try to cater to most diets.
Verify the hours. Google says 10-4 but the voicemail says 11-6.
We had avocado toast (served with homemade guac, bacon pieces and slice of boiled egg), BLT, cuban and a meat-filled omelette- all good!

I've been jonesing for a small down home cafe like they have on small farm-town main streets. I have just stumbled upon one. Not exactly the same as you won't find any John Deere hat, bib-overall wearing, newspaper reading, Redman chewing old-timers there. But, this is the place: Jax In & Out Neighborhood Cafe at Gulfport Blvd and 49th run by a lady named Jax. You've driven by it many times. I stopped in to this unassuming, 3 table, dog-friendly, modest (at best) strip mall establishment based on the Google reviews - 4.9/5. Glad I did. After interrogating the young engaging and informative young man at the counter on the menu, I chose the Reuben over the Mushroom Swiss Roast Beef Panini (which I'll definitely go back for). It came up quickly, was high quality, delicious and filling. The creamy, real mashed potatos were just made fresh and tasted it. The salads looked large and fresh. Sweet Italian Creme Iced-Coffee on tap. Jax informs tomorrow (Saturday) is Italian Sausage day - the mildly spicy sausages cooked in marinara for 20 hours. The same sausage and marinara are used in what will prove to be a superior Lasagna special on Monday. Guess where I'll be.

Jax In and Out is a little gem in Gulfport. It has a great atmosphere, and the freshly-made food is always tasty. The owner is lovely, and she always has a smile on her face. Overall, great customer service! Thank you, Jax

Little, unassuming, quaint neighborhood diner! Fresh eggs on the sandwich were piping hot and delicious! Love that it was pressed too. It was my first day and the employee was welcoming and kind! I live around the corner and hadn’t been there yet, but Will definitely be back!

Got a Cuban Togo, ate half of it while talking to the owner and sweet lady Jax. Was supposed to eat the other half right before getting on a plane but couldn’t wait, as you can see in the picture…
I’m 30 years old, I live in downtown Gulport and I’ve been looking for a place like this for a very long time. I thought it was Comfort Cafe off 58th but my business has now fallen to someone else. I can’t wait to go and try more things at Jax’s.

This is the hole in the wall place I’m sure we are all looking for because even brand new fancy expensive places are sometimes bad. I can’t wait to go back and try the guacamole club. She says she makes the guac right then and there with each sandwich. Also! I will be trying the breakfast there too. Specifically the Omelette burrito and biscuits and gravy. See you soon Jax!

Literally blocks from our house and this was our first time going here! Have heard great things from many others!!

Jax is super simple & affordable food made to order for you by Jax herself! ❤. Sadly, we paid more for it coffees at SB than we did for our breakfast! 🤷🤦🤣 Highly recommend checking it out!!

A little hole in the wall place that you probably wouldn't try unless someone told you to...TRY IT! Very small menu w/ daily specials, but the food is DELICIOUS! Everything tastes like it was cooked with love. Super friendly and welcoming, reasonable prices, and generous portions. Highly recommend and tell your friends to go, too!

Best biscuits and gravy and cheeseburgers in town! Loaded up, home cooking flavor and the most delicious and well made food in Gulfport, they should charge way more for this stuff but it’s always good prices. No BS, I’ve eaten everywhere around here and Jax is the best. 10/10

Best value in town hands down. Inexpensive and good portions. I go here as often as I can.

This 400 lbs food critic visited Jax last week. First, there's indoors and outdoor seating. Second, no chairs were destroyed by my big butt. It ground level handicap accessible. I had a steak and cheese for lunch. Now, this wasn't a Philly cheese steak. It was pressed! With sauteed onions and cheese. It was DELICIOUS! I had potato salad as my side. It was just like mom use to make. I've had far more expensive meals that were not half as good. Me and my buddies were served by the owners, who are delightful. Pillars of the community, who run a food pantry next door which is feeding the homeless and elderly. So when you eat at Jax, you're supporting the community.

Wow! MOST DELICIOUS BREAKFAST SANDWICH EVER! Jax has such incredible breakfast and lunch options. I’m in love with the quality of their menu, and by god! The staff are some of the friendliest, most hospitable owners I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I’d return AND recommend any day, hands-down.

I ordered the guacamole, turkey, ham, sandwich and they made the guacamole fresh just for my sandwich. My wife's egg salad was the same thing, made fresh just for that particular sandwich.

This place is an absolute hidden gem in Gulfport. They have a lot of tasty stuff but their pressed Italian sub is incredible. Garlic butter on the outside and pepperoncinis inside with other great ingredients. Fantastic. The restaurant is charming and intimate.

Best Cuban sandwich and dirty rice round !
Also try a dessert, the pineapple upside down cake is delicious!!

Gotta love local mom/pop eating places. Breakfast and lunch only.

Came in while waiting for my laundry to be done next door. The owner, Miss Jackie greeted me immediately and made many recommendations. Had the Club sandwich. Fresh and delicious. Restaurant is nicely decorated and they deliver to Gulfport area. I will be back. Another little gem in my lovely little tiwn.
