My new favorite lunch spot! I stopped in on a whim and was blown away by the food, the service, the prices, the VARIETY, just about everything. Sal helped us out a ton and was super nice throughout the transaction. It was our first time and he let us sample quite a few different sauces/sides to make sure we would like it before we ordered and it's safe to say you don't even need to do that because EVERYTHING was so good. We customized a bowl with shredded beef, coconut rice, plantains, and gandules, and jerk sauce and I'd say it was a 10/10 (20/10 even)! Make sure to not miss out on the drinks either because they are fantastic as well. We ordered the mango grapefruit juice and the coconut lime ginger juice and they are both so yummy. The mango grapefruit would be good for those looking for a refreshing, lighter beverage and the coconut drink was definitely more sweet but still super tropical and tasty. I don't live close by but I'll definitely go out of my way to eat here whenever I can! (Fyi- portions are so good here, the pictures show what was left AFTER I already started eating it)
***Update: came back again for the third time in a week and SERIOUSLY guys, you can't go wrong ordering a single thing on the menu. Enjoy!

This place is perfect if you’re looking for some yummy food that’s quick and in a casual atmosphere! I was served really quickly and I loved the food. The sauce was to die for! The person behind the counter was friendly. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. The prices were very affordable and the portion was large enough to feed you twice. I got the island umami bowl and would absolutely recommend it!

Excellent spot with tons of vegan options. I got the black beans, brown rice, plantains and Gandules. Let me say, they have some of the best black beans I’ve ever tasted! Amazing! If you’re vegan and looking for a good spot on Central, stop by.

We really enjoyed this place! The service was great - employees were very friendly! They noticed it was our first time and walked us through all they had to offer. The food was very good and pricing was very reasonable.

My boyfriend and I stopped in because we read the awesome reviews. They were all right. The food was fresh and delicious. Simple and not processed. Excellent blend of flavors and gluten free. We will be back again.

So good. I got the Carib Beans and Rice bowl. The fluffy coconut rice and black beans were so good! I am a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me. My husband built his own bowl with the garlic lime braised beef and he said it was very delicious.

Nice place to have lunch, staff really cares about the costumer experience. Food was great, and you really enjoyed this Caribbean mix taste.. Highly recommend the Island Umami, that sweet potato with the plantines are fiiireee.

Wow, the flavor in literally everything! Absof*ckinglutely delicious! I can see why the ratings are so high. Everything is extremely fresh and it's clear there is true passion behind this local restaurant. I plan to come back and visit by visit, try everything on the menu!

This place is fantastic and the flavor is out of sight. Quick and easy service; Sal the owner was very welcoming. Nice chill vibe in the place too with some island music. Highly recommend!

The rice and beans were delicious, the chicken was so tender and the plantains were perfection. That’s not including the delicious coconut lime juice to go with it.

Super flavorful and delish! We loved the Umami and Yard Bird bowls + the lime ginger coconut juice. Their sauces are bomb, and I want to try them all.

I like to eat vegetarian and totally would here in the future because everything is super flavorful, even the beans.

The food was amazing! A bit skeptical when walking in, but I was blown away by how good the food was. The owner helped me choose my meal as well, very friendly!

Completely Gluten Free, and now with the expanded hours it's one of the only places around to find great food after 10PM.

This place is a gem. Went here for dinner before the Rays/Yanks game. The owner is super friendly and vibe is very chill. The decor is fantastic. And food was amazing. I did build my own bowl with the paprika chicken and coconut rice. It was so good and I also had the açaí juice which was not too sweet so it was perfect. I would highly recommend checking them out. You won’t be disappointed

The food here is awesome! I love the "build your own bowl" concept because you can pick the things you like and not have to pay for things that you don't. I had the Cuban pork in my bowl and I can tell you that it's the closest thing to authentic Cuban pork that I've had outside of Havana. Everything I added to my bowl was delicious enough to eat an entire bowl of as a stand alone meal. If you're in downtown, I highly recommend checking this place out. I'm pretty confident you won't be disappointed. So good, I bought the shirt.

This was an experience. The restaurant looks cool and unique when you first lay eyes on it. The staff was friendly and took time to answer my questions. Even though there was a lunch rush going on. I decided to try the Yard Bird with Paprika chicken, plantains, black beans and brown rice (a plus for me). The aioli sauce that came with it is a must have. Next time I will request extra sauce! This place is a winner. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Really tasty food & drink! We shared the Yardbird and Island Umami bowls and washed it down with coconut lime ginger juice and mango grapefruit juice. Took it to go for a sunset picnic on the water.

Absolutely delicious. The complexity of flavors honestly blew me away, and the portions were very filling. I have celiac disease (can't eat gluten) and happily, safely ate here. I'll be coming back frequently - highly highly recommended.

Unbelievablly good. Shockingly good. I wasn't hungry but I love this kind of food and thought the restaurant looked funky, so I ordered a kid's portion to give it a try. It's probably a good thing, because I would have eaten everything they placed in front of me. When I took my 1st bite of the pork, I really couldn't believe what I was tasting. Salty, fatty pork, sweet coconut rice, and cool, fresh, acidic salsa. This is pretty basic as far as the menu goes, but so good. Words can't describe the perfection. I'll definitely be back to try more.
