Cutest little indie bookseller! The staff is incredible - passionate about books and have great recommendations based on what you like to read. Shop is TINY but everyone is so nice, just feels cozy. Wonderful selection of new books from popular to indie to local. Manager was very cool about letting us come through and browse with our dogs. Hands-down favorite book shop in St Pete!!

Quaint independent bookstore. Loved the vibes of the place, made me feel like I was a part of a community like you might see in a movie - as if I might run into a neighborhood friend here. They also seem to run book club and meet the author events which I think is nice! It is adjacent to Black Crow Coffee and a juice bar, which makes it easy to pop by and get some caffeine after picking out a book. Parking is a bit of a challenge - so I would recommend street parking and then walking over.

Possibly my best experience of being in a bookstore like ever.

The staff were exceptional: fun and engaged and super-helpful above and beyond to even trying to help with queries that were not book related and more local knowledge.

They were also happy for me and my daughter to grab some time TOGETHER in the tiny round kids’ reading snug while we read about the poet Rumi. Even though it wasn’t massively “roomy” as we kept joking, it was a very special experience. Naturally we bought the book :-)

On my way to an event in St. Petersburg, I made a pit stop at Tombolo Books. It is a beautiful gem of a bookstore with a wide variety of books available and an amazing staff that is always ready to help. Ryan, one of the staff members, helped me pick out an amazing book.

The atmosphere inside the bookstore is calming, making it a must-visit place for book lovers. The back patio is shared with a coffee house and features a beautiful patio where people can read books and enjoy coffee.

Overall, Tombolo Books is definitely a beautiful gem of a place to visit in St. Petersburg.

Hands down the best bookstore in Florida. Their selection of indie books and underrated novels means you'll leave with a gem you had never heard of before every time you walk in. The staff are hilarious, kind, and incredibly helpful. They do amazing events every month and have great bookclubs too! Anything they don't have in store they can order for you, and it always comes in super fast!

I went here on my birthday and was very thrilled to be in the store to shop for some new books in a while. the coziness and the LGBTQ+ Vibes of the store and the fact that they had a coffee store next to it made it even more perfect. One of the clerks working their helped me find some books and graphic novels I liked to purchase unfortunately I could not get the name of hers but she was so helpful to me. Will most definitely come again and maybe have brunch after I shop! 😊

Such a cute small bookstore that harkens back memories of small bookstores with wall to wall book shelves. The staff are friendly and eager to welcome you in and help. This is how bookstores are meant to be experienced. Their back patio is shred with a juice, smoothie place as well another coffee store. The patio is very welcoming to sit, drink, and read your purchased book. The interior is warmly lit highlighting the stars - books.

It can get a bit stuffy with a lot of people inside, so best to come in a weekday where you are highly like to find the place lot more welcoming to wonder around and pick up your choice of reading pleasure. I found the brown paper wrapped mystery book section that's titled - A blind date with a book w/ just a couple lines that hint at what that book could be about. Very creative spin.

Tombolo books is a must visit for book lovers.

Tombolo Books is a gift to the St. Pete community. The staff are well read, and each appears to specialize in specific genres. You need a great essay collection? They got you. Crime fiction? You're covered. Looking for horror? Be afraid. Be very afraid. They pack so much into a quaint space in the Grand Central District of St. Pete.

The shop manages multiple bookclubs that meet in-store, host myriad author events and workshops, and really add to the culture of the 'Burg.

Bookselling is in the DNA of the owners of this bookstore. If it's not on the shelves in store, they will track down a copy and have it sent to the shop (within reason, of course).

Best of all is the robust kids/children's book section. Their staff really work hard to instill a love of reading in aspiring bibliophiles. This section includes a reading nook crafted by the owner's father. That's that local touch.

In addition to books they have a huge selection of stickers, journals, sketch books, handmade card, candles, pens, and puzzles.

A town is not a town without a bookstore. Did I mention this shop is also dog-friendly? Kino loves visiting the store and getting his milk bone from behind the counter.

When you visit make sure to hit up the staff picks shelf first.

We’ve stopped in a couple different times when visiting family in the area over the years and it is delightful every time! Good book selection that is well organized, lots of staff recommendations which I find helpful, and the coffeehouse and juice bar they share a parking lot with are also great. Worth a stop

Happy to see this place was bustling on a rainy day. It gives cozy vibes and there’s some seating if you want to stop and check out a book before buying. And it’s next to a great coffee spot!

Great local bookstore with an awesome staff recommendations section. Once you learn who has the same tastes, it's like having a book concierge.

The best place to go on any given day. Is it raining? Go get a book to pass the time. Is it super hot out? Go get a book in their AC. Bored? Book. The staff is always super friendly, and the books aren't horrendously priced. They're also nestled against TWO great coffee/beverage shops. Could you ask for more?

I bought a book for a special Christmas gift written by a local author. I wanted UT to be autographed. They contacted the author, who came by the shop and wrote a personal note. Tombomlo called me to let me know it was done. When I picked it up, they gift wrapped it beautifully for me. All at no extra cost! And they have some great items other than books too.

I finally made it to this wonderful bookstore. I’ve also made purchases online that were shipped to me so I was super thrilled to finally visit in-person. My online experience was so easy and received the books in record time with special attention to packaging.

My in-person shopping was just as great. Lots of helpful staff. Shelves are labeled well and I always love personal recommendation sections from staff and others. Coffee shop next door is a perfect combination with an outdoor patio area for everyone to enjoy their coffee/treats and new books. Can’t wait to keep supporting this local bookstore.

I WOKE oasis in St Pete Floriduh. Attended an author's talk about hos new book Florida Man. A collection of poetry and other ramblings. He has made poetry 'fun' to read. Later discussion with another local artist about how they operate their businesses and find positive reasons to be in Florida.

An independently owned bookstore in St. Pete with a solid selection of books. Hoping to find more sapphic romance books, but they did have the recent National Book Award Winners. That was a bonus! Check out the stickers and pins at the register! They offer a variety of book clubs..hoping a sapphic fiction one will be formed; perhaps I should volunteer to host one! Tombolo is a gem. Worth the drive from Tampa to be welcomed into this mini-mecca for all types of readers!
