Dan's Brake World

I had to get my car towed to Dan’s Brake World and they communicated with me very well. My car had gone to two mechanics before this and none of them noticed that my radiator was cracked and the coolant was draining. Dans was able to replace it in a day. It was a quick and easy process with a fair price. I would recommend Dan’s if your car needs service!

Dan’s shop is a place anyone can go to and know the work is done to the highest level. Dan, his sons, and staff are all excellent mechanics and I have always trusted their work. They don’t make unnecessary recommendations and cause doubt, they do honest, professional work. You can go to this shop and know with 100% certainty that the work you will have done is the best possible and the fees are reasonable as well. I was amazed at how quickly the guys worked and got my car oil change and tire rotation completed!! Thank you all for another super visit.

Phenomenal customer service and work! My car unexpectedly broke down in the area and Dan’s Brake World was the closest to me. I had my car towed over to them and even though they were completely booked with appointments, they still got a chance the same day to look at my car and give me a call to tell me they figured out the problem — my fuel pump had a problem. My car was fixed and ready the next day. As a woman, going to the mechanic is always dreaded. Everyone at the location, including Dan himself, was so welcoming and kind. I felt like I could trust them and they were honest and fair. I will 100% be returning even though I’m located across the bridge in Tampa. My experience was made so easy and effortless. I highly recommend Dan’s Brake World!

Dan & his team are by far the most trustworthy & honest mechanics in St. Pete. He's the only person we've ever used after trying several other local & name brand shops in the area.

People know they are the best & their busy schedule is normally a reflection of that. Sometimes we wait a few days to get into the shop but it's always been worth our time to do so. We know our vehicles are in good hands here so we don't mind the wait.

They have comfortable chairs in the waiting room along with a vending machine, a TV, bathroom, electrical outlets & free coffee/water for waiting customers.

Let me tell you, these guys deserve the many 5-star reviews they have! I’ve gotten my car serviced there several times now and they’ve become my go-to. They’re honest, friendly and they get the job done as fast as the work allows. And they don’t try to sell you on unnecessary services to make an extra buck. Special recognition to Anthony, who is ALWAYS awesome and was especially great when I needed to get my battery replaced! I’m thrilled to have an amazing car repair shop in my neighborhood. You can trust them with your vehicle with no worries.

The parking lot is too small. The lobby has that 1960’s gas station feel. The travel magazines in the waiting area are outdated and sun faded. The guy behind the counter has calloused hands and grease under his fingernails. This place however, is the answer to your prayers if you need service done to your car. What they lack in the superficial they make up for in spades by being an honorable business and taking care of their customers. Dan’s Brake World is the mythical El Dorado of car repair that I have searched for all my life. They treated me with respect and honesty and priced their service incredibly fairly (at least to me, perhaps not to Dan). Do yourself a favor and stop by and get a quote if you need repair work done, it saved me a ton when I found this place. One less thing to have to worry about in life. Thanks Dan

Look. Part of me doesn't want the secret to get out of how awesome this place has been for us. The other part really wants these guys to stay in business & keep their awesome crew employed & well paid. You can bring in your own parts if you think you can get it somewhere else cheaper. These guys aren't making money off of parts, though. Over the last 4 years they have consistently delivered awesome service at reasonable price points for my friends & family. When people say "I got a guy" for car repairs, this is the kind of stuff they are talking about.

Great place, family owned. Always busy. They stay busy and in business by being honest and fair with everyone. This visit was simple. But I used to own a cursed Jeep Patriot and I was a frequent flyer. Now I drive a much better car and I appreciate how efficient and friendly Dan and his crew are with repairs and routine service.

Synthetic. Dan himself greeted me the first time I arrived. I came back for my oil change appointment him and a staff were so courteous and very professional. The waiting room is nice. They changed my oil so lickety split I was stunned!! I was able to get back to work quickly. I highly recommend this place. They do so much more than brakes. Tx Dan and team ;)

This is the best place for mechanic work hands down! I am a young lady and have never felt ripped off or hussled. I have been going to this mechanic since my college days and have received excellent service. The staff are knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, and honest. Last issue i had to have my car towed to the shop, was helped within the same day due to it being a minor fix. When you call to schedule they always try to fit you in as soon as possible!!
