Great place to check out if you’re in Gainsville! Owner is super nice and friendly. Always puts on cool events like comedy nights and live music! Great food and great people. They brought out dog treats and a water bowl while we enjoyed dinner on the patio. Safe to say our dog Nugget loves it too! You guys rock 🤘🏼

We celebrated my mother’s birthday with dinner, then a comedy show. The food was amazing, the headliner was hilarious, but most of all, Tony and his staff did a fantastic job accommodating our large party and made my mother feel so special. I can’t say enough about how great they were. We will definitely be back!!!

On St. Patrick’s Day my husband and I met at Hopscotch for a quick bite before the comedy show upstairs at Blue Door. It was of course very busy, but we were greeted warmly and seated quickly. You don’t get full mela here, but rather appetizers. But they do fill you up without leaving you with that of a pillow and blanket. We had the coconut shrimp with pineapple coconut mayo, hop sliders and cheese ravioli. Everything was delicious! My only recommendation would be to serve garlic toast with the ravioli. The atmosphere is cozy without feeling claustrophobic. The lights are are dim, which did require us older folks to use the flashlights on our phones to see the menus. 😆 Water was served ice cold in an a milk bottle with mason jars to drink from. I love that! The cocktails were well crafted. The manager, Tony, stopped to see that we were enjoying our first time visit. The staff is friendly and polite. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Attentive servers and yummy food. They have tapas: sharable dishes. We got the burrata, calimari, and the special of the day parmesean crusted cod over crab cakes with a white sauce. Yum.... they do not have sweet tea tho.... i know right i was shocked. Lol

The waitress recommended the Brussel Sprouts! Great recommendation. I paired it with the out and out Mimosa. The sidewalk dining was glorious. No pressure. I sat and enjoyed the friendly open vibe. It felt so relaxed and ideal. And the food was super tasty.

Hopscotch has this wonderful upscale vibe while maintaining a cool, casual atmosphere. Had the Brussels Sprouts appetizer … delicious! And then had the cauliflower pizza… again, delicious! ❤ Gainesville square!

Great experience! My wife and I did 3 items on the tapas menu. Each item was AMAZING and SERVICE was top notch! Will definitely be back!

Stumbled across this gem looking for another restaurant that didn't even exist. Super lucky to have gotten parking right in front. Close to 7 30 we got a seat in under 10 minutes. Greeted quickly and warmly we were offered a drink while we waited.

Ash was our server and she rocked! Friendly, interactive, knew the menu well, stayed on her game the whole night.

Hopscotch had a surprisingly deep wine selection, more choices than one would expect and priced reasonably.

Now, the star of the show! The food. Brussels for an app. Demi glaze, cooked to perfection. Super large portion, ideal for 2 people. I had the lamb with chimichuri with risotto and it immediately had me thinking about my next visit. Again a generous portion with tons of flavors. Wife had the special of the evening a cod fish over vegetables, rosemary potatoes tower! The presentation was great. The food surpassed the presentation. Every bite introduced a new flavor combo and made you dive back in for more. You can tell the chef has creative flare and serious culinary skills. This has to be on your must visit list.

Whether you’re just getting off work and want to hangout or having a fun night out with friends, you won’t find a better spot to go to. The staff is absolutely exceptional in every aspect, and truly make the difference in your experience. Always a fun, safe place to go and enjoy yourself. Shout out Tony for being an amazing host.. Whitley, Emily, & all my other amazing bartenders for the best cocktails on the square!

A cute, quaint place with AMAZING food. Last night was our first time there and we will definitely be back thanks to the delicious food and incredible service. Wait staff were very attentive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We loved the tapas, which gave us a chance to try a lot of different foods without having to order a huge meal where there would be leftovers to take home. Perfect for date night.

We have coming here on Fridays for months now.
The Chef Josh, Bartender (True Mixologist) Gena, Tony and all the staff are wonderful.
The food and drinks are the best in Gainesville.
We enjoy spending an hour or two eating, drink and conversation with friends and other customers.

That said,
I appreciate all types of music but the new music lately is ok occasionally but would prefer the old playlist to be played.

Great spot to enjoy great live music and great drinks. Perfect place to start and end the weekend. The owner Tony is really rolls out the red carpet and ensures everyone leaves with a smile.

The best restaurant on the Gainesville square! Service is always outstanding, and the food is delicious and HOT. Love their loaded tater tots, truffle fries, and steak medallions. Their drinks are very good too. We aren’t usually the ones to get a dessert, but their chocolate flourless cake is insanely delicious!!!

Such an awesome place! Due to a pineapple allergy I couldn’t have the sauce that comes with the coconut shrimp dish, but the kitchen made me cocktail sauce from scratch when I asked! Definitely worth a visit.

Super yummy!!! We tried the Mussels, the steak, the Brussels sprouts, buffalo chicken bites, beef carpaccio, truffle fries and the lemon cake. EVERYTHING was wonderful! But the lemon cake was out of this world!!!

Limited menu, but excellent food. Shrimp and polenta was delicious. Chicken and waffles were tasty, sweet and spicy. Full bar. No beer on tap. Intimate setting in semi restored painted brick.

So glad we accidentally ended up at Hopscotch tonight. Our server was amazing. The tapas was on point and their bar selection was a force to be reckoned with. The entire staff was welcomeing and attentive. We will definitely be back 😊

Awesome open mic every Sunday! Great group of musicians. The food and drinks are the best in the square!
