Marie Lightbourne, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Lightbourne's for almost 5 years. She has always been professional, courteous and very caring. She goes above and beyond to provide the best care for her patients. When I had a severe infection, she was super attentive and caring. She called me outside of office hours to see how I was doing and if I need any extra care. She is the BEST DOCTOR ANYONE COULD HAVE. She cares deeply for her patients and their families.

I recently had a visit to Dr. Lightbourne's office and I must say I'm always delighted to go. I really don't like going to the doctor but her office is always comfortable and stress free. The staff is really nice and I never have to wait long. Dr. Lightbourne is so refreshing whenever I see her, she always makes me feel comfortable and answers all of my questions. I must say every time I visit the mood in the office is consistent with the last time I was there. I'm so thankful to have her taking care of me. I would recommend her to anyone!

I have been a patient of Dr. Lightbourne's for 2 1/2 years. After having a family Dr who was volatile in front of staff/patients, I was extremely happy to find Dr Lightbourne. She is caring, thorough, listens and makes sure her staff follows through. Her staff is equally wonderful and make me feel welcome.

The front desk people are kind and get you scheduled right away. The only time I have had to wait is when they fit me in because of my crazy schedule. Love Dr. Lightbourne!

Dr. Lightbourne has been my doctor for a few years. When I first moved to Georgia I chose a doctor that was close to my home. He was ok, but then he sold his practice. The new practice management was subpar. I was referred to Dr. Lightbourne by one of her patients and I have been going ever since. She is extremely personable and caring. I never feel rushed. She takes time to listen. Her staff is prompt and friendly. Highly recommended!

Ive been a paient with Dr. Lightbourne for 7 years and every time I come for a check up or any other reason she has always been very caring and she listens alot and she is very understanding. She is also very heart warming, when im at the her office she treats me like family. Her attitude also what i also like about her, when your around her you can see how much compassion she has for her patients and job.

Dr Lightbourne and her staff are wonderful!! It took me almost 9 months to find an amazing Doctor.

I had a bad experience with her and her nursing staff during a new patient telehealth appointment. The nursing staff reported to me that her Zoom wasn't working and that I would recieve a FaceTime. Her FaceTime must not have been working either, because I never recieved a call. They charged me for the appointment that I never recieved. I would recommend that new patients find another doctor for telehealth.

I went to her office as a new patient today for the first and last time. My 5 year old son, who’s autistic, and my 9 year old, who has adhd, were with me. She told me she couldn’t service me because my children were a distraction. Shocked me since she’s supposed to be a family physician. When I responded to her she lied and said I raised my voice at her and she called the office manager in to see my “body language.” I was sitting on the patient table the whole time. When the office manager came I was trying to tell her what happened but Dr. Lightbourne kept over talking me being very nasty and rude. She carried on like this in front of my children making my oldest feeling bad to the point where he was apologizing to me for messing up my appointment. She then stormed out yelling for the office manager to give me my money back the appointment is over and to cancel my prescription. I looked at the office manager and told her I wanted to file a complaint who can I speak with and her response was I don’t know. When I left I spoke with another patient in the parking lot who was there to see a different physician and she told me Dr. Lightbourne is always rude and she has witnessed her yelling at one of her patients before and that’s how she operates. I most definitely wouldn’t recommend no one to go there and I’m amazed that she has any patients and even has her job. When I left and reflected on this horrible experience I realized when she came in the room and didn’t introduce herself to me should have been 1 of the red flags. This has been my only bad experience with a physician and the worst physician’s office experience ever. Also her reviews on health grade are fake. Take a look and look at the dates of her 5 reviews. I hope Dekalb Medical Physicians Group take the necessary consequences against her for her horrible behavior and lack of work ethic.

Dr. Lightbourne was okay, but her staff is so unprofessional! I heard them making mean comments about someone’s condition, and Dr. Lightbourne giggled along with them. I was a first time patient, and this was my first time experiencing a doctors office where the majority, if not all of the office staff was black. I’m a black woman and I’ll never go back there again!!!!
