Ruddy Duck Seafood & Alehouse

The food is absolutely exquisite! Celebrated my sixth year anniversary at this establishment, which happened to also be the very first restaurant my boyfriend took me to when we met. Hasn't changed! Beautiful scenery and a peaceful/comfortable atmosphere. Not too bright, not too dark & the workers are extremely professional and friendly. It is accessible to all and it's the perfect place for a romantic evening, treating oneself to a meal, or in my case...an anniversary! 🥂 (GET THE DUCK FAT FRIES!) My only little irk is that the crab cakes aren't a good size for the price. So if you love crab and pick that dish just be aware it isn't a hefty size. But still, delicious.

This is a nice hidden gem! Beautiful water views on BOTH sides of the restaurant! Despite being pretty packed on a sunday afternoon, the servers were hustlin! The beers were cold, the pretzels and chicken jerk bowl were great! We will definitely be back to this Ruddy Duck!

Just wow! Every part of the meal was amazing! And our server rocked! So hard to get great service any more! Kudos!!
Definitely try the Seafood Flatbread and duck fries! I tried the special: curry Mahi-delicious!
My BF had the special too, Argentinian Ribeye and it was so good!

First time visiting and the staff was amazing. I was well taken care of and the food was amazing. My waitress was very professional and made sure everything was good with me. Highly recommend this restaurant for your dining pleasure.

Excellent restaurant on St. George's Island in Saint Mary's County MD. Great view. Fantastic service (Sophia, our waitress could not have been better). Craft beers on tap. Calamari appetizer was great. Not too much breading. Fried oysters were good. Fried shrimp outstanding. And, get the upgrade to the duck fat fries!!! Highly recommended.

Excellent service. Food was absolutely delicious. Prices are a bit high but food quality certainly meets the pricing. Excellent location with excellent view right up the street from the Paul hall training area. The beer flight was diving. Same with the crab dip. I can only wonder however why anyone would think that pineapples belong in coleslaw. Coleslaw has enough haters in the world without doing something as questionable as that to it. I know I don’t stand alone in wondering about that. Otherwise keep up the excellent work and thanks for a delicious meal!

Edit: went back again and the food was just still amazing. Spoke with the owner who was very nice. I stand corrected on the coleslaw, a friend of mine enjoyed it.

Our first visit to the Ruddy Duck Seafood & Alehouse at Piney Point was nothing less than wonderful. Our timing was perfect to catch a magnificent sunset. We had a warm welcome from Carlos, one of the owners, and amazing service from Alyssa, our server. I guess we were being a little crabby as we had crab dip for an appetizer and crab cakes for dinner. There is no wonder why their crab cakes continue to win awards. I don't know how they could have been more delicious. We look forward to a return visit soon!

Beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy the view if you can get a seat, not a very large deck with maybe 8 tables. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly, not a long wait for anything including the food to come out. Husband had rockfish bites and fish tacos which he liked both very much. I had the falafel wrap which was one of the only vegetarian options but was good, the fries were delicious. Husband had a few beer, liked the Helles lager most.

We "LOVE" this place. Great service and food. The views 😍!!!! Delicious mixed drinks and a nice selection of their craft beer. In the summer they have an outdoor eating area, where you're surrounded by beautiful views. You won't regret coming here *****

This is a great place. Friendly welcoming service, great food, and awesome views. We had a party of 9 called ahead discussed options and every part of dinner exceded expectations. Will be back and will recommend.

This was the first time we have been to this Ruddy Duck. We had been to the one in Solomons Island, MD and it was okay. We had been riding our motorcycles that afternoon and we enjoy riding down to St. George's Island, Piney Point. We were hungry and decided to go in after looking at their menu online. We ordered an appetizer, fried clams, now mind you most fried clams at restaurants are boxed, but these clams were whole clams fried perfectly. Unfortunately, I did not get pics of them, next time! My husband got the steak and crab cake with kale slaw and the roasted red bliss potatoes and me and another rider got the seared sockeye salmon with quinoa and white asparagus with chick peas. corn, and pickled onions, yellow peppers.

We will be going back to try some of their other items. They have a low country boil that I am definitely going to get. I am going to post some pics of our meal. I suggest you all go...the food and service was great!!

Great location with beautiful views of the water on both sides. We had the Ahi bowl, falafel, and Baja tacos, all were fantastic. The beer made by the Solomons location was also tasty.

Had friends take us here to celebrate a special event. The staff was amazing! The food was excellent. What a special night, thank you, Carlos!

Saturday lunch time is obviously a slow time but food was great. Crab dip was hot and tasty alongside with freshly baked baguette. Crab cake was fresh and delicious (see pics), glazed cod and mushroom salads were both delightful (see pics). Technically this place is a brewery. So, about that. We tasted three beers. Fest - gold medal winner, Apricot - Best in show winner, and Dunkelweizen.
All three are good and above average. The third one is a bit too close to a regular Hopfenweien by its taste. The second one is reminiscent of a cider. The first one is indeed a gold medal winner. The taste is so balanced and rich! You should try it.
And yes, duck fat fries are three notches above regular ones!

This was not the first or last time we will be there. The Crab cakes as always were out of this world, you can't get better, the Duck Duck burger I had was truly special and their Corn salad is something to "die-for".
The setting is 'nature in it's best'.

So during the pandemic we traveled to Maryland and wanted some good authentic food. While we were at piney point lighthouse a family recommended the Ruddy Duck. Well you won’t be disappointed. We wanted some crab 🦀 crakes and they were so fresh and 😋 delicious. We also tried the fried 🦐 shrimp, fish tacos, and pulled pork. If your in the area give them a try.

Delicious foods with great views. Nice restaurant. All the meals we ate were awesome!

Just had a great evening at Ruddy Duck for my birthday. Food was great. Out waitress was attentive, friendly, and informative.

What a nice beautiful trip to Ruddy Duck. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. On this special day I had the chicken wings and a side salad. The wings were so crispy and delicious. I tried their special sauce and David said the sauce was not too hot. It was not spicy hot like fire but it had a punch at the end. Their ranch was so tasty I dipped the carrots and celery in it as well as eating my tasty salad. Others in our party enjoyed the crab cakes and french fries with duck fat. If you get a chance please try the fish tacos. A customer across from us ordered them and I was left drooling. Ruddy Duck was a nice restaurant to visit for a day trip.

Beautiful views on the deck :) food and drinks were yummy! Had a Falafel Wrap, nice and light!
