A great river side park, also the northern Virginia boater's backyard boat ramp. Can be quite busy on the weekend and holidays with the boat trailers. The bay is perfectly sized and depth for kayaking and paddling. Large enough to offer challenges but not exhausting. After burning the energy on the water, the park has plenty of areas and shades for a relaxing picnic or BBQ.

Came here for the campground. There were comfort stations on site with showers and toilets that were well maintained. The campsites were spacious. The area was fun to walk around in and there was a little trail to a scenic view of the water. I'd love to come here again.

Great park with well maintained grounds. The comfort stations are top of the line with laundry machines and sink to clean the dishes. Store has all the camping essentials. Wish they had an empty butane gas cylinders recycling here.

Beautiful park and campground. Very spacious sites and easy to get in and out of with large motor homes. The restrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained. They have beautiful hiking trails and a very large playground area for the kids.

Nice place for camping and fall hiking. The fall foliage and river view is amazing!

This is an ideal spot for all kinds of groups, regardless of age. The surroundings are beautifully maintained with plenty of shade, and the bathrooms are consistently tidy. There's a fantastic water park for swimming and playing around, as well as playgrounds and planned activities. Additionally, you can enjoy golfing, mini-golf, and cornhole. If you're looking to explore the river and bay, boat rentals are available. There are also trails for hiking and mountain biking. The camp store is outstanding, and it provides a convenient camping experience that is nothing short of heavenly.

Husband and I went fishing for striper here. We didn't catch any striper, but the Potomac didn't disappoint. We caught 10 large cat fish (each over 1lbs).

Almost didn't make my trip due to forecasted thunderstorms and my inexperience with camping. But decided to take the chance and had a wonderful time. The electric only camping sites were all reserved, so we had neighbors for most of the trip on both sides of our site. I'd also rate my site on the larger range than the sites I saw between comfort station 2 and the store. Beautiful scenery, friendly (mostly RV) campers, and the bathrooms were a manageable distance even though my site was farthest from both comfort stations. The store was well stocked with fire wood, though I'd bring grilling briquettes to make the fire starting process faster and more dependable. Staff were nice and hospitable. They make their rounds often throughout their 12 hour shift.

My only complaint is that I didn't plan for the cacophony of bugs that descended on the campsites that night. My dog isn't used to that much noise at night. I also should have reserved during a season with less humidity. We sweat through our clothes when we put our tent up.

Nice even in December.
Large sites with fire ring and picnic table full hook up. Clean warm bathhouse and laundry too. Close to attractions but nicely wooded.
There is a water park and boat ramp for warmer weather.

Quiet park with clean level sites. The sites are spacious with lots of privacy. We enjoyed the walking trails as well as the biking trails in the park. They have nice showers with very good water pressure. The laundry facility was next door to the showers but we did not use them. The staff is friendly and helpful. We drove into Washington DC several times while camping here. It was about a 45-minute drive. We highly recommend staying here.

Amazing camping experience! We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect, the campsite are so spacious (we stayed in a non-electric site). Their grounds were well kept and lovely. They had an outdoor movie night that was such a fun surprise! We bought all our firewood from the campstore - it was such high quality wood, easy to light, easy to get more if needed!
We played their disc golf course. I love that they sell discs in the camp store. It was a nice course, great for beginners. A nice amount in the sun and in the shade.
We also tried a few if their trails! They were so fun! Tons of dogs and kids. The acorns were a little exciting on the trails- I recommend a good tread on your shoes. We will definitely be coming back! I can't wait until next year to try out their kayaks.

We had a great time camping here. We regret not making it two nights instead of one. Nice easy but fun hiking trails with hills, curves, and water views. My son caught three fish on the shore. The camp store worker was friendly and loved talking about the park. Advice: kids are nonstop on the playground and making the usual happy noises. Take proximity into consideration depending on your circumstance.

One of my favourite places in NoVA, they have a great boat launch as well as other amenities like paddle boarding, Frisbee golf, grills and picnic tables and overall a great place to go enjoy the outdoors. - insta @ SpicyAivy

We spent the weekend here camping and had a great time. The campgrounds are really nice. Our site backed to the large field and playground just a short walk to the bathhouse. The sites have a good bit of distance between them for a state park. We did some of the hikes in the park while we were here and went to the neighboring park for a hike which we enjoyed.

A great park with lots to do - easy to spend a whole day here. There’s a gorgeous lake that you can enjoy (boating, fishing, etc.). Paddle boards, canoes/kayaks, and some other non-motorized water equipment is available for rent or you can bring your own. There’s a boat drop available (small fee charged upon entering the park) and a smaller launch site for things like kayaks and paddle boards. There are pavilions with grills available for reservation, a disc golf course, and a water park for the kiddos. There are also some hiking/walking trails. Don’t sleep on this park - it’s great!

Beautiful park for getting away without leaving civilization. Kids can run around, pick up a game of kick ball and make new friends. The park is well kept and monitored with staff driving through out the park. Walking trails with access to the water, makes dropping your canoe in easy. Will be back for sure.

There are quite a few areas with down trees but the trail we took is marked really well and the dog loves jumping over the fallen logs so it just makes it a little more challenging. I love following the water and we went on a beautiful breezy day.

Lovely to visit, hike, do water activities and kids can be kids on the playground. I wasn't sure if they had grills but we had tons of fun and went on kayak it was fun. The girls saw horses that was sweet!

Great fishing and wonderful park to enjoy nature! I saw a couple disc golf targets and nice trails that I want to experience, but this trip was about fishing.
