It is a beautiful, well maintained, 13+ mile rail trail through Charles County in southern MD. It has plenty of foliage so that you aren't stuck in the blazing sun. There are several very long stretches between roads with plenty of natural scenery. Also there are several benches and a few shelters along the path. Towards the west (a few miles west of Indian Head) end of the trail the are two locations with portalets and the east end (White Plains) has a large surface lot and restrooms with running water. Recommend checking the Charles County website for parking information, though it does not mention the parking nor the portalet off of RT 224/mile 3.

Great place to go walking or biking, you can hear and see nature and see some pretty cool animals

You have to keep your eyes peeled and slow down to enter the parking area.
Once there, you are right at the trail.
There is a porta-potty at the far end.

Great place to park to get in a good 20 mile ride. Lot fills up so make sure you know where the larger lots are.
