This is our go to ice cream spot. Wonderful country store with fishing tackle, bait and whatever else you need. The warm hospitable staff makes this place perfect.

This morning I watched Derek from TheFoodBoat go Live on YouTube at this quaint southern establishment. He brought us on a tour of the location and explained that he was very impressed with the extremely helpful manager and the quality of the prepared food. This is definitely the type of place I enjoy and I will be sure to stop by soon. Derek will be bringing TheFoodBoat up the river right behind it and will be having guest cooks and chefs aboard to cook live on YouTube this summer. We hope Roy will join Derek as a guest!!!

A quintessential piece of Americana surrounded by stunning views. A great little rest stop to grab the this’s and that’s and even a little breakfast or lunch to get you on your way to your destination, especially if you love to go to places where the locals go in lieu of fast food.

Perhaps Roy will bless The Food Boat by being a guest on his Youtube channel, where I had seen this adorable place featured? I thoroughly enjoy watching other regional cuisines to give me inspiration for where to travel for vacations.

I work with Ryan M. in Durham. He highly recommended this place. Says he worked her in highschool. Told me if I was in the area I should get one of the hamburgers.
I did, it was amazing. If you're in the New Bern area you need to stop in here and get a hamburger/cheeseburger and fries you will not be disappointed. After I left, Ryan told me to get it topped with shrimp sounds like a good combo to me. Next time for sure.
Oh, and the little grocery store has just about everything. Great Little Country Store.

The best gas station ever. They offer gas for both cars and boats which is awesome. The store is also great, has a wide variety of items, and the ladies who work here are very funny and kind

This is the best place! You can stop at the store and get a little gas, drinks, and you can even get breakfast or lunch. They have almost anything you might need here including fishing gear and bait. The bathrooms are very clean. The grill is awesome. The boat launch is nice also, with plenty of parking.

Stock up for your trip down the Neuse or Trent Rivers. Free boat parking at the fuel dock. Store has everything from bait and tackle to lottery tickets. Grill is Great. Local favorite. The Merchant family has been here forever.

Great store. It has a lot of good things. Convienence store. Grill. Fishing and hunting licenses. Bait. Boat ramp. Gas. Lottery. The cheeseburgers are delicious. The cheese fries are also very good and you get a whole basket full. Great local place that has stood the test of time and only gotten better over the years.

This is a Family run store, with lots of fishing and boating supplies, along with ethanol free gas, and All kinds of snacks and small groceries, but the Best is their Snack bar, but understand, these are homemade type burgers, and Are the Best. And before that, there's the breakfast they serve, go by hungry, but expect a line...it's great

My favorite place in all of New Bern. I honestly cannot think of another store in any state that I have lived where the staff is pure perfection. These are wonderful people who always treat me like a true friend and not just a customer.

Awesome burgers and fries! And they have just about anything you can think of - from shotgun ammo to wine. Staff is great too.

If you are looking for local country store, no one can beat Merchants Grocery at Brice's Creek boat launch. They're sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with coffee deal is old fashion. The kind of place where the gentlemen of the community can gather and share local gossip and lore. Don't forget to pay your launch fee and fishing license

Great little place. You can gas up your boat, buy bait and get a bite to eat at the grill. you can also get snacks, soda, beer and wine. Friendly people who greet you with a smile

Living a bit away from grocery stores, Merchants has saved me countless runs in town by carrying school supplies,1st aid, meds,1 ingredient nedded in a recipe,last roll of toilet paper(!), all household products, dessert in a pinch, anything realized needed by 6am the next morning! There is very little Merchants does NOT carry.Many a boater & driver has been saved from running out of gas by the great location of gas pumps.The iconic "griddle" creates the best burgers, BLTs & breakfasts! Dwight Merchant is a man of great moral character & integrity serving our community with a wonderful staff of caring folks! How lucky & blessed to have life savers & genuine caring folks down the road & who are friends for life.

Love this small country store. From the service at the counter to the breakfast first thing in morning. Mr. Dwight has a great staff a must go to.
