Stopped in this past Saturday for some crabs, and they were just finishing up their breakfast with the Easter bunny! Yes, I said breakfast, and they're serving breakfast every Saturday and Sunday! It looked delicious however they had a special getting a pound of snow crab and 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp for $25 dollars and we got some crab dip and put that on top of their crab ball appetizer and were in heaven. Right on the water with beautiful views and a nice atmosphere and delicious food. You won't be disappointed with the food, service or atmosphere. It's worth the money and the time.

A great under the radar waterfront crab house in Mechanicsville that offers traditional seafood options. This local hideaway offers hard crabs, seafood baskets, and pizzas in a small town setting. Drift Inn is a nice place to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends.

My husband and I had a much needed "date night" and were so excited to go back to our favorite seafood restaurant. They are finally open again, after being closed for over 2 years.
Our server, who was there before they closed, greeted us with an excited "Welcome Back!". She remembered us, which made us feel valued and special.

The jumbo crabs were really good. They were fresh out of the steamer and heavy! The mango margarita was good as well.

Their previous AMAZING jumbo shrimp and onion ring dinner is not what it used to be. The onion rings were the cheap, frozen variety; and some didn't have onion in them at all. I asked for a glass of water with lime. Instead of an actual glass, I got a small plastic cup of ice, a side cup of cut lime, and a bottle of water.

It's a shame that the New Mgmt didn’t keep some of the well-known menu items, but overall it was a good dinner...and the view speaks for itself! 💙

We came last week and had a fabulous meal. We called prior to coming and they were so nice over the phone and held a table for us while we headed there. We really appreciated this and will be frequent customers! Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a second review for me after our first visit fell a little short of perfect. This visit however has more than made up for any shortcomings proving that you should never judge on one visit alone. We took our son out for crabs on his birthday. We were there late at closing time and they were very accommodating. The restraunt was clean, has a great Southern Maryland Crabhouse atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered crabs and as usual they were amazing, we've never had bad crabs here. I ordered pretty much all the appetizers and all were good and as expected. We ordered some grilled crab cake sandwiches which were awesomely different,You could really tell the were grilled. Yum! But the best surprise was ordering their fried shrimp dinner, these were hands down the best fried shrimp I've ever had in Maryland. They are large, butterflied, fried to perfection and very tasty. If you are looking for a classic Southern Maryland Seafood experience I could not recommend a better restraunt then Drift Inn.

Tonight we dined in as a party of 4 adults. 2 of us had a Snow Crab and Steamed Shrimp Combo the other 2 of us had Steamed Oysters. The table also split fries, crab dip, and a Banana Pudding Ice Cream Sammich. Everything was excellent food wise. The wait time for steamer items wasn't bad at all considering the place was PACKED not only for the good food but for the Queen of Hearts Drawing to give back to the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department.

My family is happy to see the restaurant under new management. All of the servers and owners were there working so hard to take care of the full house.

Oysters were cooked right, not over done, not raw. The steamed shrimp were perfect! Crab dip was amazing and actually had meat in it, in true Maryland fashion. The sweet tea was perfect, not diabetes sweet either. The banana pudding ice cream sammich was flavored beautifully and you can tell the ice cream was hand or home made because there was no weird artificial taste to it. We cannot wait to come back to enjoy the amazing food! The new management are doing something right!

Savanna and the bar tender were awesome! We had hush puppies and about 2.5 bushels of perfect steamed oysters. Awesome service. We will be back.

Absolutely a place to eat Soft or Hard shell crab 🦀. The environment is laid back and the location is next to the Patuxent River near Mechanicsville Maryland about an hour and a half south from DC. If you're looking to eat Maryland crab this place rocks. If you can't find parking in the front of the restaurant they always have plenty of parking space in the back of the restaurant.

Stunning views, good food, and prompt service. Really popular with groups, but plenty of space for all.

What a jewel! Comfortable family feel, excellent location, truly bound to become a legendary crab house of this time. Service was fantastic, the food was very good. Had a grilled crabcake sandwich, onion rings and a smashing home made peach cobbler! Good times, great place. Definitely recommend!

Went back to the Drift Inn after it reopened after a long hiatus- with new owners! We loved the place before and the new owners are really great! The place looks the same which we loved because of its local character and the crabs were meaty and delicious…oh.. and the deserts! Out of this world! We will return for many years to come. For those who have never been, once off the highway you begin to travel along old farm roads that make you feel you are traveling back in time. After you think to yourself “did I miss a turn” voila - you will find a olde time quaint restaurant right on the bay. You made it!

Friendly atmosphere, no wait time, great hospitality, and friendly waitresses ready to share a wonderful smile with a table and a view of the river. We had two orders of crab legs, a pound of steamed shrimp 🍤, order of crab 🦀 balls, and a large bowl of 🦀 soup 🍲. Pepsi with lemon 🍋 and a glass of water 💧 😋. Awesome place to eat 😋 for two lovers who love crab 🦀 legs and a little bit of heaven. Eat at the "Drift Inn "!!

This is my 2nd review for Drift Inn. The 1st was not favorable, and I felt it necessary to post another one. WOW!!! It was AMAZING!
We had a party of 6 celebrating our son's 21st bday. The service was impeccable! If we needed anything, one of the servers were quick to accommodate. The iced tea was fresh, and separate bowls of limes and lemons were served with the pitcher. The celebration tequila shots were served quick. My only thought, for us that have past " tequila trauma (LOL), is a thicker wedge of lime would be great! 🤣*
We ordered crab balls, mozzarella sticks and corn nuggets. They were nice portions and very good. My son and I ordered our usual dozen of crabs each. As before, we each got more than 12. Their crabs are always large and/or heavy. They are freshly steamed, hot and delicious. Just the right amount of spice! My husband got the fried shrimp basket and he said they were the BEST that he has EVER had...and he is a shrimp expert. The 6 shrimp were huge, lightly battered and fried to perfection. Our daughter got the grilled crab cakes and had no complaints. 3 cakes, soft and fresh. You could definitely tell that they were grilled. Delish!
We ordered 2 soft shelled sandwiches to go for today's lunch. I can't wait to dig in!
Bravo Drift Inn!! Bravo!!!

As a Marylanderr who loves Maryland crabs, I am happy to say I have found another great crab house in Maryland, that you need to try. Prices are fair. The food was fantastic. The service was outstanding, and I will definitely be back.

Delicious! Some of our party had steamed crabs and said they were excellent. I had the stuffed shrimp and they were delicious. It was a great meal. The restaurant is right on the water. Great meal. We'll be taking guests there when they want a taste of Maryland.

Drift Inn was packed last Saturday evening when the wife and I are arrived by boat for dinner. The steam crabs were excellent and probably the best we had in a long time. The service was good taking into account how busy they were.
