Well kept boardwalk and beautiful nature. It’s a shorter walk than most places, but looks great. It’s the northern most bald Cypress preserve in the country and you can see all the knees of the trees poking out as you walk. There is also a random flipped car nearby the trail. Would recommend to others for a pretty short hike

Beautiful cypress trees in a pond / waterway.. a long boardwalk winds around, down and then in a circle around the trees. A serene place and moderate sized walk.

Highly recommend as a unique stop along your drive. Not worth driving a long distance just to come to the park but great quick stop!
Duration: 30min-1hr
Attraction: half of park is a raised boardwalk through a beautiful Cyprus March. Half of the park is mowed paths through a wild meadow. The meadow highlights different types of trees with extensive information about each type of tree. In the back corner of the meadow there is a barn and behind the barn is a small pond "Kasey's Pond" that is a beautiful neon green pond with lots of frogs!
There is also a bird sanctuary (owl and redwinged hawk) and a visitors center.

A neat little nature center with some cool exhibits with a short boardwalk trail that winds around the swamp and back to the nature center. Good place to bring young kids, my 4 and 6 year old had a good time. My boys really enjoyed the night time animal exhibit and the albino snapping turtle.

Gorgeous nature walk through a beautiful swamp, and super cute and interesting nature center to boot. Have loved coming here since I was a toddler. (:

Very cool little park with a nice boardwalk through the swamp. Some great informative signs about bald cypress trees at this location and some other information on the history and ecology of the region. Not a long walk, but worth a stop!

This was a nice surprise. We were visiting the area from Florida. The boardwalk walkways are easy to navigate and eventually opens up to a big arboretum and some interesting history with the Tenant House. The nature center has a lot of interesting information and fun stuff for kids.

Check hours before you go, no access when gate is closed. Short trail reroute and no bathrooms when Nature Center is closed. Boardwalk loop is well maintained and the Cypress swamp is full of critters

Great short boardwalk through the cypress swamp. Not stroller friendly. May be hard for parents with multiple toddlers. My kids (almost 5 and 7) loved it. The Nature Center is really cute! Not dog friendly—dogs aren’t allowed on the trail.

What a wonderful jewel this place is. I could spend hours there listening to the birds. The visitor center was closed when we were there.

We found the Cypress swamp as we were driving through Southern Maryland. It was raining and quite cool out but the visitor center was warm and welcoming. The park was beautiful and it appears that they are doing work to created walking paths that take you everywhere. We did not explore much due to the rain but what we did see was Beautiful.

We have been coming here for years. I love this park; It's a hidden gem. It's quite and great to really take in the beauty of the swampland and some local history. The board walk through the swamp is beautiful. It's a short walk, maybe 1/2 mile round trip at the most and it's great for kids. Keep a look out and you are almost guaranteed to find some tracks in the mud or emerald damsel flys in the summer.

This is a real jem. One of the most northern cypress swamps. Admittedly it was a beautiful, cool spring day when we visited. I have to imagine it could be sticky with humidity and full of bugs in the heat of summer...but really worth seeing. Saw frogs, lots of birds, skinks. The knees of the cypress are like stalagmites! Boardwalk in swamp is nicely maintained. Trails elsewhere in park are fun. Highly recommended.

The trail through the Bald Cypress swamp is mesmerizing, filled with towering cypresses with huge red trunks and knobby knees growing up around them. The largest is 6ft in diameter and around 600 years old, though it isn't publicly visible.
