Mama Mel's Pizzeria

Dined in tonight and I haven’t even been able to leave before writing this review - I’m sitting in their parking lot and letting my Detroit Pizza Baby digest before I head home. Wow, Mama Mel’s was a great experience. They were kind, accommodating (so accommodating 🥹), and very tasty. A small crew, who I could tell was working hard, really delivered a great experience. I came specifically for the Detroit Style Pizza and was not disappointed. The pizza is very filling, and I struggled through 2 pieces. The meal was reasonably priced and the service was fast. They had other orders being called in (several at a time) and they did their best to be efficient and pleasant. I will definitely return for the Detroit style pizza again. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the staff was - I haven’t been met with that level of generosity and kindness in a restaurant in a long time, it was very refreshing. 5 stars from a customer who will definitely return (probably sooner than I should, but hey! I work nearby).

Edited to add - I didn’t have space in my belly tonight.. but their display case of desserts looked divine. I even witnessed a gentleman who came specifically for one brownie, so that must speak for itself.

I can't recall how we found this gem but we have returned countless times over this past year. Recently they added the Detroit style pizza and that quickly become the household favorite. The staff is super friendly and helpful. While I love their thin crust, the Detroit has my heart.

Even though they are in the middle of a renovation the food is still AMAZING!!! Just tried their new Detriot pizza, and it was unbelievably good. Don't forget to try the fresh battered mushrooms though.

Their new Detroit style is perfection! I was also craving onion rings. They hit the mark there, too. I discovered Mama Mel’s by accident. They’re only a half mile from my house. They have a great local feel. They take pride in their fresh, house made ingredients and the difference is phenomenal.

I had the Mama Burger with cheese fries and it was amazing! I called in a to go order & everything was very smooth. The order was right, the service was great, and again, the food was amazing! Workers were very nice, and you could hear the sincerity when thru thanks me for my business. On top of everything, it was very affordable. Will definitely return!

The Detroit style pizza is outfrigginstanding. Seriously so good. Not 10/10 more like 15/10. It's that good. I stopped eating it to write this review. The Stl style is fantastic as well. Very friendly people here. Wherever else you order pizza from isn't this good. Give these people a try.

Mama Mel's has some of the best pizza I have ever had! Absolutely dedicated staff and ownership! Excellent mom and pop pizza restaurant..get yourself some Mama Mel's pizza and you will be glad you did and will be going back for more!

It may be small but they have a whole lot to offer got me an extra large cheese pizza with sauces and bacon a BLT and very hot french fries and I love the lemonade because it's pink and love the homemade cheesecake

The pizza was absolutely amazing. We usually eat Domino's but after trying mama Mel's we won't order from any where else.

Always a great place to eat. Even had the owner deliver our food before because she was short staffed!!

Go there pretty often. So many good items, always a hard decision. French dip is awesome, dip your cheese garlic bread in the ajus. House salad with house dressing is the best. Homemade croutons. Pork steak is better than Kenricks. Pizza is pretty freaking good. Discount for bringing cash, cheaper than swiping your card. Go hungry, get ready to throw down!

I mistakenly thought they wrote until 8:30 and called 8:00 and they still got in my order even though Friar had been turned off and anticipation of closing. They offered me an easy and tasty substitution for fries. Friendly and outgoing and would definitely recommend

My favorite pizza in St Louis!! And that’s saying something. Great brick oven St Louis style pizza. Salads and appetizers are also great. Just go!

We got a large deluxe pizza and toasted Ravioli. Never had before parking little yucky but the pizza was really good and liked the T-Rav too. Will go back worth the price.
