Reconstructed State House of Historic St. Mary's City

There are so many replica and reconstructed buildings and archaeological digs. This recreation not only of the State House from when the English immigrated with but these grounds and cemetery along the Potomac River tied the first capital of Maryland together. This allow me to feel the total atmosphere of what the early English colonist felt. A little peaceful village with our incredible American history. This experience helped to know & better understand that time period. Carefully and tastefully done. The arduous research and reconstruction is appreciated. My anticipated image of this area had to be what the Maryland and Chesapeake Bay colonist experienced also.

We got married at the St. Mary's City Statehouse and could not have had a better wedding. The staff were so attentive, responsive, and professional. The venue is absolutely stunning and Mary and Porzia make sure your day goes smoothly by paying attention to every little detail. We never had to worry about anything because Mary and Porzia were on top of it.

If you are fan of the History Channel then this is the place for you. Pretty cool to see where Maryland got its start.

Reconstitution d'un des premiers villages de collons anglais s'installant aux Amérique.
Le cadre est très agréable, dans une grande baie, très protégé, au sein d'un bras de mer.
Il est aussi possible de voire une Reconstitution à une échelle légèrement plus petite du navire qui a amené les collons.
Fait historique, l'idée était qu'ici il n'y ait pas d'obligation de choix religieux. Chacun pouvait choisir sa religion sans une religion d'état, contrairement aux coutumes européens de l'époque.
C'est une des choses à voir dans la région. Il y a aussi des parcs privés et publics où de nombreuses randonnées (plus où moins intéressantes) avec des niveaux et longueur au choix a chaque fois, peuvent êtres faits.
