Diego’s Cantina

I recently dined at this Mexican restaurant and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The standout for me was the chicken burrito, which I would give 5 stars all on its own. The flavors were fantastic, with tender and perfectly seasoned chicken, the rice was soft and had a lovely authentic Spanish rice flavor, accompanied by fresh vegetables and a delectable sauce - the green sauce. The portion size was reasonable. They offer plenty of vegan options as well. The service was friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Beautiful outdoor dining and a clean bar to try all sorts of Tequila and Mezcal. I can't wait to return and savor that amazing chicken burrito again! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

However, I did order some queso on the side which I was charged $4 for a cup, felt it was a bit pricey. Also, parking is kind of hard to get.

You have to try this place. It was absolutely incredible. The food was the freshest I've had in a long time. The service was on point, and the ambiance was 2nd to none.

Just went here for my birthday and it was a lovely atmosphere with great food! Our waitress was also so kind and accommodating to all of us. Can't wait to come back! I already miss my enchiladas.

I loved the way this establishment is designed and the esthetic.
The person who waited on us was very friendly and kind to myself and my son.
The food was brought out and it in my opinion was a great price per quality. All the flavors were concise and as described in the menu.
I did order a drink and it was I believe 15-17 dollars and I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED that it was made in a way a drink should be constructed.
Being a bartender in the past I am not easily impressed by drinks, I feel they are often far too strong … I don’t want a drink to be drunk I want a drink to taste good, as well as be relaxing.
Very impressed overall, randomly stopped in for our first time and I WILL BE BACK … OFTEN.

The only thing I didn't like about this place was how I hadn't discovered it sooner. The food was fresh and was prepared very well. The staff were very welcoming and treated you like family, which contributed to such an AMAZING atmosphere. It's a great dining experience overall.

Food was great. It was very busy when we went for dinner but the server was very nice. Worth the experience. Beautiful interior, eclectic in nature. Large variety of mixed drinks.

Came here for an intimate birthday celebration with my cousin, and it was perfect. I really enjoyed our waitress. She was top notch. 👌🏿

Diego’s Cantina is the best place to go in St. Louis for Tacos! The atmosphere is filled with authentic Mexican art on the walls! Right next to Diego’s is Frieda’s, the Vegan equivalent to Diego’s. They have outdoor and indoor dining, which are both wonderful. Our server was very friendly, and the music was amazing.

We've ordered take out from here a few times, and the vegan menu is really good. We've had the enchiladas, a few different types of tacos, the fajita bowl, and the vegan brownie. All delicious and the staff are nice and friendly too.

Very cool spot. I liked the interior design and artwork. They have a vegan menue too which made the experience even better. It was pretty loud on a Friday night, but there was just a lot of energy. Would like to go back to try more of their vegan items. I really nice surprise was the drink. They make an old fashioned with añejo patrón instead of bourbon. It was really good. Could definitely go there just for the drinks. Very nice tequila list as well. They had flights that I would like to go back and try as well. Well done!

I was stoked when I saw there was a vegan menu. Diego's has a great atmosphere, friendly service, and a great drink selection. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and will definitely return!

Absolutely love Diego’s Cantina!! I’m vegan and have a dairy allergy. I’ve been here twice and loved all the items I’ve gotten on vegan menu!! One of my new favorite spots in stl with vegan options, highly recommend!

The perfect neighborhood joint! The bartender knows how to make a drink, the food is out of this world, and the the vibe is on point. The best thing about Diego's is that you get to eat incredible Mexican cuisine and feel good about it (something you rarely get to do outside of Mexico). Ingredients are fresh, well prepared, and they can accommodate for all dietary needs. Lots to love - can't wait to be back!

We loved our meal at Diego's. Awesome patio and outdoor eating experience, and it would be worth the wait to sit outside! We made reservations and were seated immediately on a weeknight. Weren't going to get the queso until the waiter sold us by saying it was rated the best in St. Louis. He was right, it was worth the $11. Just get it. The costra tacos were good as well, looking forward to coming back and getting the enchiladas.

This place is very cool…the neighborhood setting, the interior design, the nice patio. Very cool.

We had the 3 Castro taco special (Tuesday) and wife ate the frijoles and I had the ground Turkey and and the chicken tacos. Great flavors and they all were unique in flair from each other.

Wife lives the flaming queso and decided to try the vegan flaming queso and it was good. Nice spice to it and a nice alternative if you can’t do the regular queso, like me.

The chips and salsa are also good. You can tell this is a fresh salsa.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Diego's!! The margaritas are great, the cheese with the flames on top was a delight, and don't get me started on the Tres Leches cake 😋!! But by far Mariam and Agustina made our meal much better than it was! They were super friendly, kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed! Thank you Diego's! Definitely recommended!

Food was delicious! Our server was polite and helpful to us first-timers! The atmosphere was intimate! Had the hibiscus Margareta and it hit the spot!

We came to this restaurant in group of 12 people for team dinner. We had really good time. Food was great, staff was super friendly. Queso is a must try.

A go to for me. Great drinks. Yummy food. Friendly service. Love the costra tacos and mezcal margs. Little touches like an all gender bathroom with feminine hygiene products. Great local place.

One of my favorite Bars/Restaurants ever. The decor, atmosphere, service, drinks, and food are all top notch! I have celiacs and there are more gluten free options than not which is hard to come by. Super safe, I go here all the time and have never gotten sick. Highly recommend!
