VCA Bal-Coeur Animal Hospital

We were traveling to the area to visit family and our dog had some stomach problems that required care. We called and they were able to get him in within 3 hours. They were extremely caring and spent time trying to help with the problem. Because it was not an easy diagnosis, they gave us a print out for emergency care in the area just in case he turned for the worse after hours.

The staff just seemed to live their jobs. Everyone wanted to stop by and give him love (he is adorable 😍 so I understand). They even called the next day to check on him!

I always feel welcome at VCA-Bal Coeur as well as by dog. What a great group of ladies! I have an older dog and they treat him like gold. Very understanding and compassionate. Thank you for all that you do!

I can't say enough good things about this vet clinic. They are always compassionate and very knowledgeable. My cats, Nico and Lilly, and my pup Sokka can be little disasters, but the vets here are always able to spring into action and get them fixed up quickly. I recommend them to everyone I know and will never go anywhere else.

I took my cat here because she was having trouble breathing and had what I assumed was a bad sprain (I watch WAY too many vet shows, lol) and was pleasantly surprised with their staff. I also have a dog with diabetes & have very little funds leftover for other vet bills in my budget. So, I came here because they had advertised a free first office visit/exam on their website. My cat had been acting extremely standoffish that day due to her pain, and the techs & doc both handled her so gingerly that she was like putty in their hands. She doesn't even do that for me!

My kitty's heart was beating so fast, dangerously fast, that it was difficult for the vet to count the pulse but i think was around 250 bpm! She definitely sprained her shoulder thanks to this new Maine coon my family inherited from a death in the family, and i didn't get an x-ray due to lack of funds but surely has asthma. Doc also found a heart murmur that no other vet had found, and my kitty will be eight yrs old this month. That's a lot of other vets who didn't catch this murmur. My cat's brother died last year for no apparent reason, and we're now thinking we finally know why. Whatever my sweet girl has is hereditary and probably passed to all or most of the litter mates. I've been referred to a vet cardiologist, but i don't yet have that kind of money. It was recommended that we wait for the asthma treatment until after we know exactly what's wrong with her heart because albuterol can raise the pulse, which could be catastrophic since hers is already elevated.

I'm just so glad i went to VCA. They obviously know what they're doing and know the importance of treating the patient as well as indulge the owner with perfect balance. This is a great place to take your pets, at least your cat! I HIGHLY recommend VCA Bal-Coeur!

Dr. Breummer is delightful and she takes her time with your pet and explains things clearly. She really cares and so does her staff.

We live pretty far from this office but are always willing to make the drive because they take such good care of our pups!

From the moment you walk in til the moment you leave, excellent service! Dr. Davis made us feel like we were in the best hands possible when it comes to pet care. After re-homing a bulldog and taking him to the vet for the first time, she walked us through his allergies and other steps to keep him healthy. The other staff who assisted us were incredibly friendly and helpful, even pulling out some grain-free treats for our pup! Couldn't have asked for better Veterinary care!

We’ve been going here for at least 6 years with our cat and dog. We’ve probably seen every doctor and every one has been attentive, patient, and kind. They always take the time to explain what is going on and what options you have and seem to go above and beyond for your pet. It’s always easy to get an appt for our pets. Very happy we have such a great vet!

Dr. Hart is the best! So considerate to my dog & concerned enough about his well being to follow up via phone call. He's been doing this long enough that he knows what he's doing and I'm confident in the care he gives. Rest of the team is fabulous too. Front desk was helpful & friendly. Techs were quick & knowledgeable.

I have moved three times and I have kept driving way out of my way to get my babies treated by Dr. Thompson at Bal Coeur VCA (the staff is great too!) My dog has a lot of skin issues and my cats have chronic illnesses and they all are treated with great care and affection. My cat actually loves coming here! I am very happy with all the services we have received here. Can't recommend them enough!

They took amazing care of my boy Hudson back in 2014. The entire staff was so accommodating. Hudson had cancer and we hand to put him down, but they made it they best possible experience, giving me so much peace in knowing Hudson absolutely adored his vet and trusted him right till the end. Thank you all so much. Forever grateful for this place in our time of need.

Fantastic service. Very friendly and informative. Honestly I didn't know what to expect but they took great care of my cat and always seemed they were very attentive to not only physical needs but worried about the stress on the animal.

We visited this office under awful circumstances and received bad news about our longtime family pet. We made the decision to euthanize our pet due to her deteriorating health and it was extremely difficult as expected. The entire staff was extremely accommodating, empathetic and professional. I would recommend this team of animal lovers to any one looking for care for their pet. Thank you for helping us at a very difficult time for our family. I didn’t know they do grooming and wish I could have known earlier, THEIR GROOMING IS THE BEST compared to where I am going. I am switching to VCA grooming. My big puppy smelled so good and his hair got fluffly, I am very satisfied, I forgot the name of the woman who did it but something like Jill.

Staffs are friendly, Dr. Davis is my favorite Vet and Jen is always knowledgeable for tips and stuff. Great team!!!

VCA is the place to take your pet! They are incredible and Moose and I leave there satisfied every single time. They really do care about you and your pet! Fantastic customer service!! If you are like me and your pet is your LIFE I would recommend these heros❤

Dr. Hart and all of the staff at Bal-Coeur AH are wonderful! Dr. Hart has performed numerous surgeries on my dogs, all have been somewhat complicated, and all have had successful outcomes. He is brilliant! Part of his intelligence is knowing when to consult specialists in the area of concern. Some of our dogs are not so friendly. Dr. Hart and the vet techs handle our dogs safely and understand how to conduct a thorough and safe examination on dogs of this temperament. The staff at Bal-Coeur take the time to explain everything to us and never leave any stone unturned. Switching my pet's veterinarian to Dr. Hart was a decision that my husband and I feel great about!

I have been taking my beagles to VCA Bal-Coeur Animal Hospital for a very long time and have always been very pleased. The staff is amazing, with very friendly and caring technicians and office staff. The doctors are all very friendly as well and extremely knowledgeable. I always feel my "children" are in the best hands possible when they are here!

I've been a customer since I was a child with my family pets. As an adult it's the only place I go for more than 20 years. Some staff and doctors have changed over the years....but that is a lot of years. Still provide quality and caring for my family and furry family.

Best vet ever. No other place I rather go. My dog always gets infections and everytime they take care of her. They're friendly and truly care. They always address our concerns. It's a little pricy but 100% worth it.

My wife and I moved to St. Louis 2 with our two dogs and looked first for a VCA facility based on our positive experience with a VCA vet hospital and boarding facility in Texas. We have only good things to say about the Veterinarians and staff at VCA Bal-Coeur. I had trouble finding employment in St. Louis when we first moved and the Vets were uniformly understanding and worked with us to keep our bills in line with our limited income. Then our elderly boxer fell ill and the Vets and staff were kind and comforting; both as we tried to find the cause of the illness and later as we had to accept the need for euthanasia.
