I have never had such an accommodating and kind group of folks help me at a restaurant. The server, John (maybe Jon) assisted me with many dietary restrictions. He was able to get Jacob to come and speak with me and decide on a modified dish. When the dish arrived, it was beautiful and the taste was out of this world. Phenomenal, filling enough to take part home and Jacob even came over to ensure it was up to par and did not seem bothered at all by my neediness. He seemed more than happy to assist and take on the challenge of finding something I could enjoy despite having a full house. I was there for my mom's birthday and they brought her a beautiful dessert with a card which was a very nice touch.

I will be coming back again and again and again after receiving such compassionate and kind service, delightful and unique food and the cozy ambience. I could not be more grateful for their help so I could have a normal dining out experience and not feel like a burden with my dietary restrictions. Top notch restaurant, you do not want to miss out!

The wife found this wonderful little place looking for Vegan/Pescatarian options. The atmosphere is well lit, nicely decorated, and cheerful. Our server was attentive and polite, and our food was creative and tasty.

The Wok Fried Brussel Sprouts were excellent. I highly recommend them. I had the Five Spice Tuna while the wife had the Peach Glazed Pork Flat Iron. Both of us enjoyed our meals. The wife especially loved the sweet potato gnocchi.

I’ll be looking for an excuse to visit here again. I would like to try some of their other offerings—although I may still start with the Wok Fried Brussel Sprouts. 🙂

This place is one of our most favorite in all of North Carolina. We had our puppers with us and ate outside. They were super chill with him and one customer asked if he could feed him a snack, we said yes and we went in and came out with 2 slices of cooked bacon for him. The food captured us and I forgot to get good pics before we dove in.. so you are seeing it mostly eaten.. sorry about that! You must give them a try to amaze you!

We’ve been here many times but not for a couple of years. It was quiet downtown. A non descript Wednesday. I thought the place would have open seats. No. Packed. We had to wait only 20 minutes though. Still one of the best around. Or the best. If you’re passing through and maybe not coming back this way, do not miss the experience of the zucchini fries. Hot, light, perfect accompanying sauce. And they’re Zucchini!! You’ll never want fries again. I also had the special salmon. Superb - perfectly cooked (pink in middle) with great Brussels and plantains. So impressed again. Service also fabulous.

My husband and I visited Brevard for the weekend and LOVED this restaurant! We will be back for sure. On a Friday night at 6pm, we only had a 30 minute wait and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Food was the best we’ve had in a while. The tuna entree was AMAZING. But the Brussels for an app were just as great!

My husband and I ate here on our wedding night and the staff and general manager made us feel celebrated! The food was fantastic and super fresh, the atmosphere was unmatched and the service was amazing with very little wait. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Thanks Jacob and his crew for making this an amazing memory!

Hidden gem! Traveled through Brevard and saw online this place had good reviews and it did not disappoint. Great service and food all around. The Chilaquiles special was one of the best brunch entrees I’ve had in a long time. Great spot!

This place has great food, location, and wait staff. We had the pork flat iron and trout. Both were great!
Needed to wait 45 minutes for a table—well worth it. Plenty of shops to browse while waiting.

Pretty sure this restaurant is a staple in downtown Brevard. We stopped in for the first time. Everything we had was delicious. Very cute, quaint spot..with a beautiful patio. We enjoyed the gyoza appetizer and I had the ribeye special and my husband had the cheesteak sandwich. Alot of people also recommended to us the tuna tartare

This place is one of the best restaurants in town. The appetizer of brussels sprouts is amazing. I am not usually a fan, but this is the perfect dish with a tiny bit of spice and fried crispy to perfection. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is always outstanding. Thank you for always making it a pleasant experience when I come in town.

Came here on recommendation from a local. Definitely worth it.
This is a first come, first served, no reservations kinda place.
Even so, we were still seated within 15 minutes on a Friday night.
This spot is top notch. The staff seems to take a genuine team approach to service. We did have a dedicated server that took our food order, but we had multiple different people taking care of us. We had our salad plates waiting to be picked up and the bartender came over to grab them.

The food is great too! I had a cod special and my wife had the Five Spice Tuna. Both were delicious. This restaurant also uses locally harvested items on occasion as well. They had a few dishes utilizing local ramps.

Fantastic food! We went at lunchtime on a weekday and didn't realize so many people would be there for their lunch break but we were lucky; just ahead of the rush. Even though they were very busy with every table full and people waiting to be seated. It was still an absolutely perfect meal. The servers were excellent, being very helpful to everyone. Made me really happy to see them all working together for us, the diners. It's hard to find that level of camaraderie anymore. And the food, well you just have to go, because I can't describe how delicious it was. Our meals looked like something out of a magazine. Everything ordered at our table was divine and we left very happy.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. They have a nice patio and indoor space. They were short staffed as we went in on a holiday weekend. The food was worth the wait .

This has been by far the best restaurant I have ever been too. The server went above and beyond. You could see the passion he has for the restaurant and the food. He’s not just a server but he knows what is being served. He served with such passion and joy and so much intentionality.I was so impressed by our server. Not only that but the food was AMAZING. I’ve never been at a restaurant where the servers were amazing and the food was amazing. Can’t express enough, how happy I was during that meal. (And it was our first time ever). They know what they’re doing! DEFINITELY WORTH TRYING!!

Ate a late lunch here recently during a weekend trip to the Asheville area. I had eaten here last year with my sister and her family and recalled how great it was. On Saturday, the place was very busy so we sat at a table in the bar. The blueberry compote cocktail was very good. As was the mixed berry Mojito.

We started with a salad with an amazing orange vinaigrette dressing. My girlfriend and I shared the Rabbit Gumbo. Neither of us had ever had rabbit and felt like venturing out and trying something new. It was great as was the crawfish that came with it. The jalapeño cheese cornbread was amazing as well.

The atmosphere, cool building, great service and amazing food make The Square Root a great place. Will definitely be back.

Nothing but amazing, from the service to the food. Dessert is just as good too. We tried the steak and the Indian curry, both phenomenal. Man was the curry spicy. Kids had corn dog(so good) and burger.

Enjoyed a good meal and atmosphere. Would recommend for the unique entrees available. Super friendly staff?

This place was recommended to us by a shop nearby. We had fried green tomatoes and a London broil Philly. It was all scrumptious. It came with a side - you have to try the sweet potato chips. They are so yummy. I would eat here once a week if we lived here. We had good service too! Thank you
