The Lumberyard Pub

My family stopped by for lunch on a beautiful mid-November day. This was our first time at The Lumberyard and it was a very nice experience. The food was great and the service was pleasant. They have a nice bar area and lower seating section. They have multiple TV's and a lot of outdoor seating for the summer months as well as another section and bar that opens up during the warm months. If you're in the quaint downtown of Afton it's definitely worth a stop.

We enjoyed this place. It's small and cute. They are low on staff which always sucks (for the employees). Especially a place like here.. where everyone is hoity-toity. I felt bad for the employees lol. The food was good. The drinks were nice. Staff was friendly and doing their best. They also have live music on weekends. We'd love to come back for that one day. We also won $300 on the pull-tabs. They were playing decent music on the speakers too. Always a plus. We usually do touchtunes or whatever the place has and play our music.

4 stars for atmosphere only because of the customers. Not our kind of people lol.

Had a great experience here sitting outside. Lots of shade and a large menu of sandwiches and flatbread/pizza. Plus salads. I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries. The fries were a little soggy and I would prefer a few more tap beer choices. The cheese curds are breaded and not my preferred style. Otherwise was great and downtown Afton is a cool place to visit.

Amazing burgers and really fast service with an awesome atmosphere in many places to eat and drink. Only downfall I had was the fact that we paid $85 for two people to have lunch.

Friendly, vibrant atmosphere. Great food with unique flavors. Love the live music in the summer and especially the garage door bar that opens to the outdoors in the warmer months. Staying closer to home and supporting our local businesses is the way to go with the Lumberyard!

Tattooed Kayla is an awesome bartender, great service and she loves our dogs Mojo and Tibbs! Love the slushies and cauliflower bites!

Recommendation from a friend to pay a visit. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised to find a small bar atmosphere with great food on just two pages. Olivia did an awesome job taking care of us and hats off to the chef on great meals! Thank you very much and we will be back!

My husband and I went to this restaurant in Afton for a date night. Very fun place! We were the only ones there when we went, and the staff was very welcoming. They provided great recommendations and gave us enough space so we felt like we were alone (since we were the only ones in the restaurant, I give them 5 gold stars for that alone! :D ). They are located on a nice place along the river, so we walked around outside for a bit afterwards. I'd recommend to anyone!

Was riding by and has never been here before.
The patio looked nice. We had a very friendly, attentive and polite server named Marin. She helped us navigate the nice variety on the menu, with some good suggestions
We didn't have the need to go inside, that will have to be for our next visit.

If you happen to be traveling through Afton you absolutely need to make it a must to stop at The Lumberyard pub for outstanding food and drinks! I was fortunate enough to have Kayla as my bartender and she was on her top game! Not only did she make sure I always had a good drink in hand she also helped with a lunch suggestion when it came to the menu. The food was soo good I inhaled it basically. I would recommend the crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Overall it’s a great place for food and drinks! An absolute bonus if Kayla is working!

Excellent service and great food! Really enjoy their new outdoor patio with retractable doors! One of my favorites things to do is ride to Afton and visit the Lumberyard on my Harley. I’ll be back!

The old fashioned was absolutely beautifully crafted, and the food was delicious.

Great place to grab a drink and a bite after a long bike ride or go out with the family. Added bonus pet friendly patio. Cons hours/days open are odd during off-season.

We were on a day trip to Vikings Training Camp and took the scenic route that brought us to The Lumberyard Pub. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Our one daughter had Flatbread pizza and my little one had the kids burger. The food was great, everyone loved the fries and pretzel rolls with homemade cheese sauce. The bacon on the sandwiches was perfect and I can keep going.

What I thought was really unique was we were there during lunch rush and got to interact with probably 6 different people. We had our hostess, our server, someone else brought our app, one person brought 2 plates and another person brought 2 more plates. Every person that we interacted with was very polite and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Our server especially was really good at his job (wish I remembered his name).

So the next time you take the scenic trail along the river, I would highly recommend stopping here. We will be back!

Live free music, cold beer and really good food!!! Staff works hard and very accommodating. I would recommend dining here. We'll definitely be back!

A cool place to stop into and a good ride on the motorcycle. For hot days when you want a cold bite try their chicken salad sandwich or chicken salad fruit bowl; you won't find better. Whether you want pub grub or something fresh and maybe even a little fussy they have something for you. The same goes for beverages; craft and domestic taps and bottles, a full bar offering craft and classic cocktails, and a range of NA options including mocktails...if someone can't find something they want to order they might need to have their eyes checked.

I ordered a Philly ! It was the best I have ever had. I have worked in the service industry for more then 20 yrs. This is guy that knows how to make good flavored moist tender food. You should try it!!

The next day i came back for some lunch and had shrimp tacos. It was very flavorful. Mouth watering just looking at it. The Shrimp plump juicy and there was good amount of it in each one. The pineapple sauce was a perfect way to top it off. The cook is wonderful. Loved it. Thanks

Came here for the first time with our dog! The bartender Kaylee (sp) was so friendly and energetic. Our dog loved her! We especially loved that she brought him water and a special treat! Can’t wait to come back. :)

Stopped by on a wim while wandering around Afton. The fish and chips were pretty tasty. We enjoyed the live music offered on the patio. Our server was very friendly and helpful.

Have been here two or three times over the summer and then once again today. During the summer they couldn’t get my burger temp right, but I’m not taking a star off because it was still incredible every time, even when well done! Lauryn took care of us several times, including today, and she is an absolute delight. In a post-Covid service industry plagued by horrendous table service, Lauryn reminds me of the good old days. She was the only floor/bar staff working when we were in and she handled 25+ patrons with ease. She went above and beyond to take care of my family and I, and I plan on returning because of it. Oh yea, our food was phenomenal. Even our kids woofed it all down. FYI, their tortilla chips for nachos are made in house and they’re amazing!! I would buy them if they sold them. Give The Lumberyard a chance, I’m sure they’ll make you happy you did.
