Lamar's Fish & Chips

Breakfast hit and fresh. My alligator bites were golden fried. The grits were nice and creamy. I'm never disappointed. Just Southrrn Hospitality at its finest.

I've been living in Georgetown all my life and this has always been the best seafood in Georgetown. The breakfast is wonderful personally I love the seafood platters that they serve at lunch they are spectacular have plenty of food in it enough to eat off of twice

This is the friendliest place in town. And the food and service is great.
They even know some of their customers by name. It feels so good to be greeted with such sincerity. Oh the food is so good. And when you order to go it’s ready when they tell you it’s going to be ready. Thank you Lamar

I had fish and chips, choosing flounder. Delicious! Food was served hot, French fries crisp on outside and a bit soft on inside, making them perfect for me. My friend also ordered Coleslaw, which I seldom eat, but tasted hers. I would order it. It wasn't swimming in mayonnaise.

Food came out quickly - hot, fresh, and flavorful. Wide variety of fish to choose from.
Price was good, especially given the quantity of food on a platter!
Steady lunchtime crowd on a Tuesday.
Easy free parking, counter service only with a clean dining area. I would happily return if I found myself in town again!

What was not to like? Great food, large portions, friendly and fast and a very reasonable price. We should have tried it soo er, but will be back. I had flounder and shrimp with the Sunday special sides. I hurt myself and still couldnt eat it all. My friend got the same with fries and coleslaw. So.eo e previously mentioned the slaw and he said the same. Not soaked in vinegar and not swimming in mayo...perfect!

I ate at Lamar's for the second time since finding this place and it is absolutely delicious.The Lamars have been here for over 40 years and they are terrific people. I had the flounder and shrimp with a side of coleslaw and enjoyed every bite. Please give them a try if you are in Georgetown, you won't regret it. One thing you need to know, they don't take cards, so bring cash.

The salmon patties are great but that talapia is delicious. The grits were so so good i left there wanting to go to sleep.

We started to go to The fishnet in Hemingway but they said they didn't have any fish at all so I said let's see if Lamar is open went there hallelujah hallelujah fine fish fry hospitality right on time I amplease immaculate this is not a put on it was supreme love it will go back all the time

Other reviews did not lie! Lamar’s is a great spot for local seafood quickly. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals and will definitely be regulars.

So impressed. The food was great. Exactly what you want from fried fish. The hush puppies were WOW. Tried flounder and whiting. The special was salmon patties and I wished I'd tried them too. House-made, I was told. The counter service was incredible and so friendly. We will definitely visit again. What a gem!

Just had the catfish n shrimp meal. My husband had the flounder n shrimp meal. Absolutely delicious, huge meal for both of us. We will be going back, maybe for the breakfast. Very friendly place.

Lamar's has the BEST DAMN, GRITS on the Planet!! He explained to me it took him 50 years to master the taste! You can tell once smooth, creamy, smokey, buttery texture hits your Tastebuds. And I can't forget the Incredibly Delectable, fried Whiting Breakfast...!!

This was the best food I had the entire weekend

PERFECTLY fried flounder & shrimp combo with hush puppies, fries and cole slaw. The food was no frills, no chills, just RIGHT!
The staff was kind, pleasant, helpful, courteous, and genuinely wonderful.

My mom and I stopped in for lunch and we were so happy we picked Lamar’s. Masterfully prepared and well seasoned. Generous portions and very friendly staff. Go on Friday for the lunch special!

Stop and eat! This resturant was clean and friendly staff. The food was amazing. The fried tilapia was seasoned just right and crunchy. The most important detail....the grease didn't taste old that was used to fry the fish. I'd stopped eating fried foods from restaurants because of that reason. My family and i went to Myrtle and stopped here otw back. 5 stars and I will return!

Deliciously fried shrimp and fries.

I didn't get the best pic, just snapped this before l started eating but the fries are so good even without ketchup. My friends mostly had Shrimp and grits served with Toast and they said it was very good as well.
