Big Creek Marina

The campsites on Lake Somerville at Big Creek Marina are so much better than I expected. I was able to take my 3 year old splashing and swimming in the shallow waves at the edge of the lake without worrying about lots of rocks like at other beaches. She loved the giant sandy area,and we loved the firepit, picnic tables, and water spigot so we could have an awesome dinner and smores. It's far away from Houston that you can see plenty of stars, but close enough for a day trip. And its a good spot for fishing too. We'll definitely come back.

Great place to camp or just spend the day. Places for RVs or tents with electric and water hook up. They have cabins but as of yesterday they are still being remodeled after a flood. Fishing, swimming, picnic tables and boat dock. Alcohol ok. Store on site. Bathrooms are also being remodeled so they have temporary port-a-potty right now.

Really great, relaxing environment. We hauled our new 23 foot camper out there for the first time on a spot near the lake that had running water and a 30 AMP electrical hookup. The guy running the place was very helpful. He even offered to back my camper in the spot which of course I accepted. Coming back soon!

Nice lake, camping spots and the cabins are okay. It was kind of uneasy feeling with all the rocking motion when people walk up and down the staircase and the walkway. But once you get use to the rocking it wasn't so bad.

Amazing weekend... the store is great and rates are cheap

Good place to visit. The outside of the cabins do need work and someone to get all the cobwebs off the walkways and cabins

Good place to get away. All spots have views of the lake. You can bring golf carts and Mules to ride around the park. Deer and birdlife are plentiful. The store is handy.

My husband & I were so happy to be able to camp again at Big Creek. Now that we have a new RV we will going a lot. Big Creek is our favorite place on the Lake Sommerville!

Me and my family LOVE Big Creek .The girls at store are real friendly and ready to assist you. Park area is BEAUTIFUL . I gave a 5 star rating because until yesterday (8-23- 2020) ONLY problem was TRASH on site area we chose. I picked up a TALL KITCHEN bag of TRASH and 1 GLASS bottle! I suggest SIGNS be posted -PLEASE PICK UP YOUR TRASH AND DISPOSE OF PROPERLY .

Nice, clean, grass mowed really nice and low. Owner is really nice and friendly. Bringing our travel trailer in March for the weekend and start booking more weekends for the year.

Staff and campers was really nice and I really enjoyed primitive camping And the showers and restrooms was really maintain .had a blast fishing and camping. Great family place.

Love this place a lot of my most favorite memories is a kid growing up happened on these campgrounds and I'm glad to see it coming back

I used to go here all the time to fish on the marina but after the floods you cant go there anymore i wish they fixed it back up it was very popular and i would love to go back maybe they should have fundraisers to bring it back id put in.
