Meadows Museum, SMU, Dallas
Amazing architecture and artworks. Love the Sho (2007) sculpture on the entrance by Jaume Plensa. Fatima was my favorite piece and painting in the collection on display.

Paid parking. Couldn’t free parking around the museum.

I recently visited the Meadows Museum, and it was a remarkable cultural experience. The museum's collection of art, particularly its impressive array of Spanish masterpieces, left me in awe. The exhibits were well-curated and provided an insightful journey through the history of Spanish art.

The museum is free if you are only going to see the arts at the ground floor, however there is a fee of $12 if you want to see the exhibition at the upper floor.

The museum's architecture and layout were both aesthetically pleasing and conducive to a leisurely exploration of the art on display. The lighting and ambiance added to the overall charm of the visit.

Moreover, the staff at the Meadows Museum were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the artworks, enhancing my appreciation of the pieces. They were also more than willing to answer any questions and provide background information.

Incredible museum. Must be one of the best art museums in Dallas. Home to the largest Spanish collections outside Europe.

This is a treasure hidden on the SMU campus. Very convenient to Cenral Expwy. and Dallas North Tollway. Free parking in garage under museum. Don't miss it.

I really enjoyed our visit to the Meadows Museum. We went when there was a Salvador Dalí exhibit. The staff did a great job of arranging the artwork.

A famed collection of Spanish art works in the Americas, one of my reasons to visit Dallas. Even though some of the paintings were not on view the temporary exhibition more than compensated. I went on a Thurs evening — not only the entrance is free but also got a good tour.

A haven of well-curated Spanish art.

Their film series does not disappoint. Especially peaceful on late evenings. Complimentary admission on Thursdays after 5 p.m

And a cute gift shop.

I love this museum. They have an awesome selection at their permanent exhibition. If you want to learn about Spanish art this is the perfect place. I’m not only speaking about the pieces of art, I think the building and the interior of the museum are incredible and historical. The pieces of art, have Sorolla, Piccasso, Zuloaga, and one price by Diego Rivera (Mexican artist). And a couple of pieces by Emilio Sánchez Perrier that were so so awesome, I don't remember seeing something like that in Texas' museums.

Excellent place to appreciate some paintings from famous Spanish painters, since El Greco to Salvador Dali, Miró and Diego Velázquez, and an extraordinary sculpture designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, "The Wave".

This museum is gold dust. It perfectly embodies the statement that quality overcomes quantity, since its relatively small size does not prevent it from being the most comprehensive gallery of Spanish art outside of Spain, probably even surpassing the Kunsthistorisches Museum Spanish rooms in Vienna. Visiting the Meadows Museum will take you on an exciting journey through the History of painting in Spain, from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods (Velázquez, Ribera or Murillo being fine examples) to the nineteenth century masters or the avant gardes of the twentieth century (Sorolla, Fortuny, Picasso, Gris or Dalí all reunite on the gallery’s walls). Do not miss this opportunity to get a taste of Spanish painting in Texas!

Visited the Meadows Museum on the the SMU campus in Dallas, Texas recently. This has been on my list to do for quite awhile. Although I didn't get to see all of the museum, I did visit the gallery which housed Medieval & Early Renaissance Spain: Treasures from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This is a long term loan from the Museum of Fine Arts. The artwork is Absolutely breathtaking. I also loved the artwork in front of the entrance to the museum which includes "Sho" a modernist 13 foot tall sculpture among others. Looking forward to returning and enjoying all of the fabulous masterpieces in this museum. 👍

A surprise gem located on the SMU campus. First off, I knew about the Bush library, but had no idea this museum existed....of course you have some classics, but the artists featured here are pretty incredible. I was surprised to see artwork that I had only seen in art history books actually adorning the walls here in this beautiful museum.

I visited Meadows Museum at SMU for the first time last month. I was pleasantly surprised at not only how much I enjoyed the museum but also the beauty of the campus. Plan ahead and visit when they also have free lectures or musical entertainment. They stay open late on Thursdays and also plan time to walk around and enjoy the beautiful campus and the sculptures throughout.

We went on a Friday and this is a delightful collection. Give yourself a minimum an hour to go through.
As an out of town visitor, I think it was worth the stop.
