This is one of my favorite walking trails. There are easy to walk on sections of concrete, and then there are numerous dirt and gravel trails that make you feel like you are far from civilization in the woods. I would recommend using a map app on your phone so you don't get lost, however. I have come across people when it is close to getting dark and they had no idea how to get back to the main part of the park.

I walk the trails here frequently. The trails (There's more than one, consisting of main trails and smaller, more remote dirt trails) start/end at Cross Timbers Park in the Ryan Ranch neighborhood and end/start at the Dog Park. There's usually not very much people but everyone I've came across has been friendly and just minding their own business. Just be aware of your surroundings and location. Just the other day I came across either a copperhead or a rat snake on the side of one of the smaller trails.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed walking the trails until he was bit by a snake, while we were exiting the trees. It was dusk and we did not see the snake. After 2 days in ICU and 1 more day in a regular room for observation, he is getting better, Thank God. Those Beware of Snakes signs..... take them seriously

This is a good park with woodland trails and an open area big enough for large picnics, playing fetch with a dog, etc. Be careful not to get lost in the woods if you leave the paved trails.

Great place for a peaceful hike!!!! **except the 2 dog owners that can’t read the “dogs on leash” trail rules.

Overall, we loved it.

Absolutely gorgeous and secluded. Definitely good for a long, leisurely walk. Very rarely see anyone else on this trail.
