I continue to have a great experience at Dr. Asamoah's office. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make each patient comfortable for any type of visit.

I had my first appointment yesterday. The staff was very friendly both on the phone and in person, and that's just as important to me as the doctor. Dr Asamoah was very friendly, down to earth, and thourough. She knows the importance of nutrition to heal and not just filling you up with pills. I did wait about 40 minutes in the exam room, which I wasn't too happy about, but she did apologize immediately when she came in, so I appreciated that. Overall I had a great experience. I look forward to my next appointment.

Wonderful doctor! I have moved and now travel 2 hours one way because I will not even consider changing doctors. I came to Dr A after I was released from my surgeon following a Whipple Procedure. That was a year ago, and I credit her with my continued recovery. She has been able to diagnose and treat all the complications that have come up on my path back to good health. She has helped coordinate my care from my Primary and other Specialist to ensure the doctors are all sharing test results and lab work, keeping all informed of the current situation. When I am in crisis and in serious pain she finds a way to get me seen as soon as possible. Her office staff is wonderful - I am a First grade teacher and have had to reschedule appointments due to the needs of my students - they are always accommodating. Phone calls are returned promptly and test results/lab work results are relayed in a timely manner. Questions about my lab work or test results are answered right away, or staff confers with Dr A and first and calls me back same day. I have had only one appointment where I had to wait to be seen. On that day I waited about 10 minutes, and Dr A apologized upon entering the room. Then I realized why I waited - she takes time to talk to you and LISTEN, for that I will happily wait 10 minutes! I would not be capable of holding down my job if not for her continued care. I have been to GI doctors in Austin and Houston, and she is by far the best I have been to.

Had my first appointment this week and was completely impressed with the level of care. Dr. Asamoah and staff provided me. Everyone in her office is friendly and made me feel welcomed. She is the first GI doctor to REALLY listen to me. She didn't make me feel rushed and she made me feel confident that she would help me. I'm so thankful for Dr. Asamoah.

I had my first colonoscopy with Dr V. Asamoah. The facility and staff were top notch. Dr V. Asamoah is extremely informative and shows how much she cares about her patients. I would totally recommend her to anyone!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Asamoah for almost 2 yrs now and from our 1st encounter she has been nothing but caring and compassionate to my circumstances. Her knowledge of her specialty is top notch, and it has shown in the results of my care, communication with me and my other care providers who also speak very highly of her. My experience with Dr. Asamoah and HGI has been top notch, and it carries over to her caring friendly staff, who have been accommodating and attentive to my medical needs.

Dr .Asmoah was the only doctor that took my problem seriously. I have had ongoing GI issues for many years, but every doctor I visited gave me the SAME medication. She was the only doctor that FINALLY helped me get to the ROOT of my problem.
Occasionally, I do have a long wait. However, I wouldn't say it is due to overbooking. During your appointment you will receive her full attention, and sometimes the conversations that she has with her patients are longer than she anticipated.
The office staff is also very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

I really don't know why some of the reviews are bad about Dr. Asamoah's office but I love them. Everybody is really professional and courteous there. There is some waiting but honestly, I never had a doctor's appointment where I can just breeze right in. Dr. Asamoah has a wonderful bedside manner where when she was discussing my medical history, I did not feel like it was automated and distant like other doctors have a tendency to do. I had a procedure scheduled this past Friday and with the horrendous storm that just hit us, I did not know what was going to happen. Dr. Asamoah actually took the time to call me herself and find out if I was okay and if I needed to reschedule; that in itself will make me keep her as my Gastroenterologist. Definitely recommend this office! Thank you so much!!! :)

I haven't seen Dr. Asoamah yet but my experience with Houston Gastro institue isn't not a good one. I got an appointment a month back and they told me to fax them the medical release form before the appointment which I did, the very next day. This week i received a call from their office asking me when am i going to fax then the medical release form? I told them i already did last month but i will fax it again, which i did yesterday. This time i called them to confirm whether they recieved it or not. I dont rememeber the name of the lady unfortunately but she confirmed all the paperwork that i faxed. Today i received a call AGAIN asking me when i will fax the forms or do i want to reschedule my appointment? Told them i already did it TWICE.....but they couldnt find it so i am emailing it to them now. Hopefully i won't have to reschedule but this is just making me think if they cant even handle the paperwork before the appointment how lousy they would be once they have all the reports/labs.....how would they handle that?

Went for my appointment.Dr. Vivian is a wonderful dr, very thorough. As for the labs, there was a mixup with my name, they registered me as two different patients, hence all the confusion.
Note to self: One think to learn from all this: not to be hasty, there is always two sides of a story!

Worst and most unprofessional institution I’ve been involved with. After my procedure was denied my results and information that I needed access to. Was denied them because “the doctor needs there pay” and when I finally was able to schedule an appointment they canceled my appointment for me and did not tell me and then when called and asked about my appointment they told my mother that I canceled the appointment and I was not compliant, when I never canceled the appointment and then sent me a letter with improper grammar saying they will not take care of me anymore. Dr. Asamoah was a nice lady but Dr. Otulana and her office is where the problems happened. Will definitely not recommend any one to an establishment who cares more about getting money than a patients health and situation!

This has been the worse experience, I had a appoint at 2:30pm with Dr Asamoah, I arrive to the clinic at 2pm. Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes later I was called in. Although I had been waiting a lot I was calm. Few minutes later a nurse comes in and asked a few question and then left and said that the doctor was going to be with me in a few minutes. This nurse came back at 3:50pm and tells me that she was going to order some blood works and then ask the question that I didn’t want to believe she was asking, DO YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOCTOR. Obviously if I was refer by my doctor to see this specialist is because I needed to see her. I even called the day before to change my appointment to a later time and they refused, if they were overbooked I wouldn’t mind rescheduling my appointment but instead they made me wait for 2 hours and I didn’t even see the doctor. Never again going back to this place.

Horrible experience. My father went there for an office visit and the scheduled him for a colonoscopy however they were overbooked and told me they will call back in a few weeks. They called me back almost two months later and told me they can book and appointment now and i said can I call them back in two weeks and make the appointment, and if there are any issues if i make it later since we were busy with wedding preps. She said thats fine wouldnt be a problem. However I called after 2 weeks and got the appointment for August 17. They call me a few days later saying he would have to do another office visit and pay the fee again since its a big gap between that and the procedure. I told them this makes no sense, you told me it was okay and there would be nothing more. I finally spoke to someone called Mary who had called me earlier and I said my parents already paid for the office visit its not their fault if the appointment is late and I was told it was okay to make the appointment later, I even explained my dad cant afford this and he will cancel the appointment. Instead of giving me a solution she just said I have canceled the appointment. So we paid the money for nothing. And the staff is rude, uncooperative and unorganized. I would not recommend anyone to go there
