I cannot say enough good things about Dixie Motel. The rooms are impeccably clean and well equipped. You can feel the love and care throughout the space. Thoughtful touches like pour over coffee, record player, and personalized restaurant recommendations were a wonderful touch. Comfortable beds and the towels smell like fresh laundry (not like bleach as you find at most hotels). I wish I had time in my stay to enjoy the complimentary coffee, ranch water, or tea on the adorable patio space out back. I hope to be back in the future!

This place is a gem! They have totally renovated a vintage motel and done an amazing job. Every detail is thoughtfully executed. The room is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, and everything is spotless. They even have record players in the room and a great selection of vintage vinyl. a delicious fresh breakfast is available in a room off the back courtyard.

The motel is located in a quiet neighborhood just a short drive from the funky downtown. Brenham was a pleasant surprise, loaded with murals and many cool small businesses.

We love the Dixie Motel! The rooms are modern, clean, and fresh. They provide a record player and vinyl in each room (!!!), and they have an excellent breakfast room with fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, muffins, eggs, and oranges that you can squeeze for fresh juice with their squeezer machine. Beer, tea, hard seltzer, and coffee are provided gratis. This is a boutique motel and is a little more expensive than a chain motel, but it is worth the stay. You can tell this motel is a labor of love by the couple who renovated it from the mid-century and now run it. They are kind and want to ensure your comfort without being intrusive. I highly recommend staying here.

We LOVED our stay here! The rooms are so nice- brand new, very nice decor, and spanking clean. The breakfast room with all-the-time snacks and drinks is awesome. Little touches- like the old-fashioned milk bottle in our fridge- shows the owners have put a lot of thought and care in the property. Beds are really comfortable. Easy to park, easy to find, super close to downtown. Plus, I love that a vintage property was restored.5 stars! Stay here!

The Dixie Motel was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners were perfect hosts and the stay included a nice breakfast which offered fresh chicken eggs! We were very happy to stay in a relevant historical motel in Brenham. Thank you for a great experience. 😁

I can not say enough about the owners. Above & beyond care about your comfort and stay. They take the time to personally orient you to the motel & provide a clean room with special touches like a record player and box of albums to play, coffee they grind before you arrive, fresh organic milk in the fridge, dining area with a vintage fridge stocked with light snacks, fresh fruit, and spirits. Filtered water easily accessible. Nice picnic tables in back as well.
A/C and ceiling fan. Nicely decorated. I enjoy open air, so they put a screen in so I could open the window. Batteries were low on TV and they came to the room right away with new ones. I was visiting for a wedding. They even offered to extend my checkout time without me having to ask. So appreciated. Again, more than anything …I can’t say enough about the owners. Easy close access to Brenham and Round Top. Happy to stay here next time I visit the area.

I felt like I was in a bed & breakfast. It's a continental breakfast, they have a water bottle refill station.chilled water and filtered. I loved the turntable record player. There was a 1977 album from Willie Nelson. There are many more music records to listen to also. There is a fridge in the room. Very comfortable room. There are plenty of towels and extra bedding. Nice luxurious bedding. You can back right up to your room on the front side. I stayed in room #1. It was an awesome motel. The owners are around if you need something, or you can text them. They are a very hospitable couple. I will be staying here again if I need a room.

We had an excellent stay, and the owners' attention is attentive and receptive. They are committed to making your stay very pleasant, and they achieved it.

The rooms were spotless, and the facilities were well maintained. The cleanliness of the hotel exceeded my expectations.

If you need to disconnect from everyday life, this is the perfect place, very quiet, you can breathe peace.

My daughter had a trip to Brenham. Karl and Sarah were easy to deal with from booking, to check-in and throughout our stay. Sarah kept us informed during our stay which was a nice valet service. We enjoyed reading the history of the motel which has been completely modernized. The room had everything we needed - coffee, refrigerator, comfortable beds and tv. The breakfast den was nice and welcoming and included everything we needed for a breakfast on the way to the fields. Even had some local beer to try out in the frig. The list of places to eat was a added bonus with QR codes. We will definitely stay again next time we are in town. Thanks again Karl and Sarah.

Wow what an amazing stay! Everything from the cute little water bottle they gave and water station outside. Along with the organic milk in our room and an amazing breakfast room to start the morning, fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh boiled eggs. There was also fresh fruit, toast, English muffins, and yogurt. We got a tour of the back part that showed what the old rooms looked like. And there was a record player and records in the room. Great time and experience! Definitely would stay again and recommend it to friends.

So much fun to stay here! From the logo water bottles given to us at check-in, to the immaculately clean and oh-so-comfy room...the owners have thoughtfully provided everything you'll need. Local coffee, (pour-over style), healthy breakfast with fresh OJ, neat courtyard with open field adjoining it--there are just so many neat things about staying here. And don't get me started on the phonograph and LP records in our room. We didn't want to leave!

What a cute, comfortable place to stay! From the vintage mini fridge to the record player, and comfortable, cozy linens... you can tell that the owners really care about your stay. The rooms are clean, quiet and well appointed. Sarah was so helpful to us in finding a place for dinner and drinks. When we left, we wished we were staying longer! I am telling everyone about this place and we will definitely be back.

This was a renovated motel from the 1950s. It has been beautifully done. It is the cleanest property/room I’ve been in. The room is comfortable and the staff excellent. Perfect location for a getaway. More of a bed n breakfast feel than a motel. Highly recommend this motel.

Our recent two night stay was great. Retro done well and even had all the modern amenities. Quiet, restful, clean, high end linens. The owner was so welcoming and happy. Breakfast was very good and had many healthy choices. It’s a definite YES!!

This little motor court motel is a gem! Don’t think twice just book it! Karl was a very gracious host and very quick to respond and answer questions. The property is exactly like the pictures online but better! Very quaint, comfy bed, great breakfast room with some afternoon extras. We received a welcoming gift as well. Can’t say enough good things about the Dixie Motel!

What a treasure!
Step back in time and get a vintage feel. This historic motel has been perfectly updated. The owners have added so many sweet touches to the organic milk in the fridge for the pour over coffee to the cute water bottle merch we were given for the filtered water. Sarah, the owner even gave us hand warmers when she heard we were spending the day at Round Top. Immaculately clean and cozy!
We will be back!

The Dixie Motel is a gem. I stopped there on my way back to Houston after watching the eclipse, based on Google reviews, and struck lucky!

It's a very small operation, with only eight rooms at present, and on the night I stayed I seemed to be the only guest. That makes for a very personal experience--I enjoyed meeting and chatting with Karl, the owner, a very interesting guy.

The motel itself was built in the fifties, then allowed to become
dilapidated before Karl and his wife bought it and began renovations. There are two buildings with rooms; so far one has been renovated, and the other stands as a reminder of just how much renovation was needed! The renovation has been done extremely well: I had the King room, and it was spacious, comfortable, and stylishly furnished and decorated. There are period touches, such as a (working) antique fridge and a gramophone, with vinyl to play on it!

Guests get a key to the 'breakfast room' as well, containing a buffet table with a spread of goodies, including fresh fruit and a juice press, which can be enjoyed at any time. I took a tasty local beer from the antique fridge, and enjoyed it in the afternoon sun at a table in the courtyard: very civilized. I also enjoyed some fruit and pressed juice before bed--lovely.

The motel is about 500m from the main road in a residential area, so it's pretty quiet, and the rooms must be well insulated for sound because there was a storm the night I was there, which blew down a branch from one of the trees, but I slept like a baby throughout.

Breakfast is self-service in the breakfast room; the buffet is expanded with breakfast items from 7 to 10a.m. It's a cold breakfast, and normally I prefer a hot one, but actually I found it delicious and satisfying--I ate boiled eggs, granola with yoghurt and lots of fresh berries, and more pressed grapefruit juice. I was provided with ground coffee and a one-cup filter in my room, so I could make myself coffee the strength that *I* like.

Brenham is a small town with considerable charm, and a long list of restaurants for dinner. There was a list, with walking distances, provided in the room; Karl also gave me a recommendation for a central American place, which I sampled and enjoyed. There is an interesting looking BBQ place quite near the motel, but it was closed on the day of my visit, unfortunately. I didn't want to drive after the beer (6.6%!), so I decided to walk into the town (and see a bit of it), and Uber home. That last part didn't work out for me: while Uber had cars available while I was making my plan, there were none by the time I had finished my meal. So I had to walk back as well--no biggie though.

Karl also gave me a recommendation for a scenic drive in the area, ending at a rosarium, which I did the next day instead of my planned outing (to a place that turned out not to be open). I enjoyed it very much! This is the kind of local knowledge that is very hard to get by Googling, but can really enhance a trip.

The Dixie Motel is not a dime-a-dozen motel like so many others; it's a unique and memorable experience. Stay there. You owe it to yourself.

We had such a great time at Dixie Motel. The touches put on each aspect of our room and the breakfast room were unbelievable and so beautiful! It was also located very closely to downtown but not in the middle of it all. It was very quiet and cozy. We will be back!!

A wonderful renovation of a 1951 motel....but with modern amenities (water filter, excellent coffee and tea in room, well stocked breakfast room with healthy choices) - but keeping the simplicity and beauty of mid-century. Well located - quiet but close to town. Would love to return sometime!

Having lived in Brenham for a number of years in the 1980's, I was aware of the Dixie Motel, more that it was still around but not much to talk about. Then we read about places to stay in Texas Highways magazine, saw that the Dixie was redeveloped. So, with a wedding to attend, this would be a perfect weekend to try it out. Glad we did!
The place is immaculate, rooms very cozy, with all the modern conveniences and touches that make for a really nice stay. We got the single queen bed room, were very pleased with everything. In room coffee (from our fav, Independence Coffee!), wi-fi, usb connections to recharge your phone (we forgot our charger), nice flat screens, a lovely courtyard. We would have sat outside for a bit if not for the less than 40-degree weather.
We highly recommend the Dixie Motel in Brenham. Yes, it is above the price of a chain place (not by much!), but your helping a local shop keeper, it is quiet (off the highway) so if you are planning a trip to the Brenham area, stay here, you'll be glad you did.
