Monkey and Dog Books

This place is beyond cute! The books are organized in a really logical way. The ladies there were so sweet and helpful! I loved the puzzle that anyone could work on. My favorite part was probably the kitchenette with coffee and teas-that's where they kept the cookbooks. Seriously, check it out and fall in love. (Note the monkey and dog metal statue out front)

This is the cutest bookshop! The interior is adorable with leaves made from book pages and places to sit and enjoy a good book! They have book clubs and author visits! Such a fun place to get tangled up in reading!

I love this little place! It’s cozy, welcoming, and the owners are so friendly and kind. The shop itself feels a bit like discovering a hidden room in a castle, filled with treasures and little surprises all around. I’ve mostly spent time in the children’s section (ADORABLE) and they have a great selection, including titles you wouldn’t see in big-box stores. Any time I’m in the neighborhood, I look for an excuse to stop in!

Monkey and Dog Books is one of the cutest indie bookstores I have had the pleasure to shop at. Shelly the owner is super kind and you can tell she really loves what she does. The kids section and the cooking section are my favorites but the whole store is wonderful. Great sideline items as well.Definitely worth a visit if you are on that side of town.

Stumbled upon this place by chance after visiting a store in the same plaza. Such a cozy welcoming feel and a great range of books of all genres! They even had an obscure sewing book I had bought a few years ago that I couldn't find anywhere else at the time!
They had some cute little zipper bags, onesies related to books, jigsaw puzzles and other things in the shop too. I fell in love with their book themed bags and definitely want to get one! The girls behind the counter were really helpful and sweet.
Would definitely come here all the time if I lived in town - for now I'll have to settle with visits when I'm in town and ordering from them online! :D

We are new to the area, and I found this bookstore through a list of "top ten in Texas." I and my equally book-loving niece visited and loved it. What a cozy place with an amazing selection. The staff was so helpful with recommendations I might have missed. It deserves its "top ten" rating for the store, the interesting inventory, and the staff. Definitely a place to come and spend some time. This will be my bookstore - and my niece will be back when she's in town!

This was a great surprise discovery on our outing today. Stopped in when we saw it. It has all the qualities of a great bookstore - comfy, great variety, and friendly staff. I almost felt like the sections were curated for me. There were books on the shelves that I've read, and are old friends. Books that have been on my to read list. Also, books that fit my interest perfectly that I didn't know were out. I'm looking forward to my next visit when I'm in a book browsing mood.

This is the sweetest local bookstore! I had the pleasure of discovering it during a meet and greet with one of my favorite authors. While waiting in line, I had the opportunity to browse the shelves and saw the cutest area for kiddos. Highly recommend supporting local and shopping here. Also the staff were super friendly and warm!

Cutest bookstore, friendly helpful staff. Showed up on a day an author was there to read her book. Super cool.

Took our daughter (2) for the first time and she loved it. Staff was super polite, and the book selection is fantastic. Will definitely be back for reading time for the kiddos.

Can’t say enough about this little book store!! From the creative and cozy atmosphere, the great selection of books, to the story time for the littles on Monday and Wednesdays, it is the perfect place when searching for a gift for your little one or book loving friend, or when you just want to relax. We come here almost twice a week and the staff is always so kind and welcoming. Thank you to Lisa for always being so kind and the owners for this little slice of heaven on 7th!

Wonderful independent bookstore with an excellent, curated selection and lots of fun author events!

I was looking for an independent book store to buy a gift for a friend. I found this one on Google and went for a visit. What a precious joy tucked away off 7th St. A welcoming cozy spot where I was greeted by the friendly staff. I choose a birthday card for my friend and then explored the book selection from board books for infants up to the traditional classics. I selected a wonderful book for my grandson and a book for myself. They also let me know if there was anything I couldn't find they would gladly order it. I decided upon a gift card for my friend so she can visit and choose a book for herself. I will check back in on the variety of book clubs that they also host. So happy I found this spot and encourage all book readers to give it a try!

Love small independent bookstores and Monkey and Dog didn't disappoint! Drove over from Dallas and left with too many books! Definitely worth a visit

It's a beautiful little cozy spot. Filled with tons of books with great detail on the layout of the bookstore. My toddler loved the kids' section. We will definitely be back

I went here looking for one book, and ended up coming out with a gorgeous collectors edition of Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard (from one of my all time favorite series) and it was something I was NOT expecting! What a cool find! I'll definitely be coming back, this made my day.

An incredibly sweet local bookshop with a large selection for readers of all ages! The children’s area in particular is such a nice place to read.
