Recently moved to Austin, and since then I have looked for a new place to get my hair cut. I'm very glad that on my first stop, I found Jimmy. I had always gone to regular hair salons before, so Jimmy was the first time I had gone to a barber to get my cut. The first time I went to Jimmy, I came with a few questions on what style I should go for, and Jimmy listened to what I had to say and gave his input on what he thinks could work and what he feels does not.

Jimmy works quickly and is receptive to any changes you might want while he's cutting your hair. With Jimmy, you can ask if he thinks a certain length or style would look good for your head shape, and while he does give his input he will also try his best to give you exactly what you want. After the cut, he also goes into detail on how you can style and take care of your hair.

Definitely will keep coming back to Jimmy for haircuts for a long time.

I am from Waco & have been looking for a stylist that has the ability to cut my hair into a pixie style cut. Someone that specializes in such. That’s exactly what I googled & The Amazing J popped up. Not just cut it but to cut it into a style that when I get home I can fix it and be happy with it.. I’m blown away. I loved my hair when I left the salon & I love it now. The Amazing J is not a stylist, he’s an artist.. He spent so much time with me because he wanted me to leave looking awesome & be happy with my cut. When I got to the car my daughter & granddaughter were all smiles. Both of them were saying I like it, do you like it? I of course replied “yes I love it”. Both of them said maybe we need to come see him. So yes, you got it, the 3 of us are going to visit Jimmy for our next cuts. I can’t tell you how excited I am about my hair. Amazing J, you are the boom, the cats meow. So worth the drive.. ❤

Jimmy is the BEST hair artist for both male and female in Austin!! He is so thoughtful, kind, and really takes his time to give you a quality experience. He also has great taste in music. :)

Came in and Jimmy did a great job of cutting my hair as close to the picture I came in with as he could. Went beyond that and showed how to style!

Just got my haircut by Jimmy and was extremely pleased by the results! Going into it I did not know exactly the type of haircut I wanted. But he was able to ask the right questions to figure out the direction I wanted to go. In the end he was able to work his magic and I was very happy with the outcome. Best haircut I’ve had in years. I am an Asian male with the typical coarse and straight hair type. Jimmy can cut all types of haircut including the most difficult hair types. I feel lucky to have found him.
