Was a great walk on the trails by the creek, saw some geese and ducks on the shore. There was lots of places to sit and look at the view, would highly recommend if you like a short scenic walk around the creek. If you prefer a longer trail there are trails that extend out that are much longer around the area.

We are so much love this park. One of the best place in Austin when it comes to daily exercise & weekends activities. Also love this when spring time come full of bluebonnets flowers which is perfect for photography together with the Lake view. Amazing!

I didn't know that I lived for years just few miles from this beautiful place! Nature here is amazing all around this lake..which is large as 38 acres..in a 90-acre park. Very quiet and nice for a variety of activities..hiking in a natural trail, bike trail, exercise station, playground and for fishing too which is very regulated, with all the pictures and information about the wildlife and types of fish and birds in this area. The parking also is large enough and in many locations...so this is definitely one of my favorite places to visit more often. Also, it seems safe and secure...we can see families all around the lake.

What a nice park! Love the trails, the lake, and the open expanse.

I saw bikes on the dam, and you can even fish at the lake.

There’s a playground and volleyball net too, and a pavilion with picnic tables.

There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of parking though, just a couple small lots.

Beautiful park with a lake you can actually paddleboard/kayak in! In the spring, it’s covered in bluebonnets and it’s perfect for photoshoots! The trails are great for walking and biking and there’s a good amount of parking! Did I mention it’s dog friendly too?!

Really big area. The walkway down to the lake is gorgeous, filled with wild flowers and was amazing. Saw lots of people biking, walking, at the playground and splash pad. Very fun and peaceful place

A spacious big park that is good for family gathering, may enjoy ball games such as volleyball, badminton, kite flying, kids’ playground, fitness corner and kayaking too. A week before actual Spring, the park is filled with beautiful Texas State flower Blue Bonnets. Many will come and take pictures. Best to visit a week and week on Spring solstice to avoid disappointment to see the beds of bluebonnets.

Nice park for a casual walk around that offers kayaking, SUP, sand volleyball court, and picnic area, and nice sunset views around the lake! Glad to have this around for local residents. Dog and kid friendly. Along with plenty of parking spaces around.

We went kayaking here for the first time here July 2022. It was very calm water. If you set out to kayak all day, you could easily go from one end to the other. There are points where the water gets stagnant, but as long as you have bug spray, you should be safe. Lots of fishing enthusiasts on the water as well. Don't have to worry about swimmers or boats on this tiny lake.

A place to dream, access is very easy, it has long paths for pedestrians, cyclists and you can also go fishing.

Beautiful lake and a park filled with wonderful amenities. Perfect for a family outing...we walked on the trail and enjoyed the lovely scenery. My kids enjoyed the play area as well as the open spaces. There is also a water fountain area that was closed during winters but will be loads of fun in summers. There were some nice spots for pictures. There was also ample space for larger group get-togethors. The park was also very well maintained. It was overall a great experience. Highly recommended!

First time here and loved nature bike 🚲 trails, dusty dirt bike loop along the lake, This is a very nice park with good playgrounds , splash 💦 pad, you can rent kayaks, peddle boat 🚤. Easy parking and shady playground. Definitely you want to come back in early April when Bluebonnets are in full bloom.

Want to hike, bike, fish, bbq, let the dog loose, kayak, take beautiful photos? This is the place for all that!
Big lake, big fields, and big (long) trail to hike along. Great place to bike. I didn’t have any problems sharing the trail when I was there.
All around wonderful place for a beautiful day outside.

It's a very good place to hang out with family. Big trail, splash pad for kids, fishing, kids park with slide and swing. Kids will enjoy splash pad. Don't forget to get towel and one pair of extra dress for kids if you are planning to get them to splash pad. Going early would be preferred to avoid excessive heat or late evening.

Perfect for a walk, bicycle ride, run, etc. Large network of trails...many paved, some dirt.

Also great to being the Goats (kids) of all sizes. Something for everyone. Playground on the East side of Parmer. Fields/pitch on the West complete with disc golf course, space for kite flying, and plenty of space for proper football (soccer).

Shadowed by a hawk today when I was along the stream West of the trestle and off the paved path. He kept flying overhead and then off to my right as I trekked. I'd pass him somewhere and then he'd do it again. Three times this but I could never see him stationary in the trees. I paused a few times to no avail. It was worth seeing him/her fly low overhead with a beautiful row of horizontal stripes across the tail.

Trail meanders along the creek crossing it a couple of times with diversion trails on both sides for a more interesting hike.

An interesting bit of history too. The trail crosses a train trestle that was used in the building of the capital building. There are several car sized pink granite boulders surrounding the track that had come off the train cars as it traversed the bridge. Scary! You can really see them up close if you approach the trestle from the North side. A literal boulder field.
