This is an amazing find! What a perfect vacation spot. Lilia is amazing and the breakfast was exceptional! The gluten-free French toast bake was incredible! A sweet stay and such a relaxing place. We’ll be back!!

This B&B is quite charming with its history and location. Lalia is a true gem who loves the inn and her guests. Her home-made breakfast each morning was amazing! It was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

First time staying at an actual BNB and it was amazing due to the innkeeper, Lilia!

Breakfast was delicious and the wine/cheese plate was thoroughly enjoyed. Easy walk to the beach and if the Gulf isn't your thing, the pool and hot tub were a nice option. Can't say enough good things about our weekend stay. Will definitely be back!!

Lilia and Ricardo have done an amazing job keeping the facility in great shape, it's so nice to float in the pool while they're preparing the afternoon "happy hour" for us to enjoy. The coffee in the morning while visiting with other couples on the rear deck as breakfast is being prepare is a unique experience.

The whole experience is total relaxation, enjoying the hot tub jacuzzi or simply relaxing in the rocking chairs on the deck facing the Gulf is an experience unlike any other on the Gulf coast.

If your idea of a beach experience is high rises, elevators, screaming kids, etc. you may want to go elsewhere, this place caters to couples or single travelers wanting to experience the opposite.

Lilia was an amazing host for the house, she honestly made it worthwhile. She did an incredible job engaging with people and also keeping everything clean and neat. The house naturally needs a bit of work, but you can see the improvements being made to it. I had never been to a Bed and Breakfast but if they are even half as good as this one I will gladly book them. Also never skip breakfast here... trust me.

I stayed here on a quick get away and it was a great place. The inn keeper is a lovely lady and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast each day was very good and loved the wine and cheese time! There are a lot of eating establishments nearby and close to a lot of activities. Easy access to the beach. Glad that I took a chance and stayed there.

I just got back from 3 nights at this little gem in Gulf Shores. If you look up the meaning of beach cottage in the dictionary, The Original Romar House would be pictured there. NOT ONLY is the house itself a gem, but the innkeeper, Lillia, is AHMAZING! She goes above and beyond making her guests feel at home. The Full breakfast each morning is so good! The wine and cheese in the evening was such a special touch! Oh.. and the inn is super clean with nice bedding and towels! I cannot say enough about this sweet place and it's innkeeper!

Lilia is a treasure!! She makes “The Original Romar House” the wonderful welcoming beach home everything that it is! She cooks delicious breakfasts every morning with the best coffee! And she even goes above and beyond with wine and cheese in the evening! Our room was clean and very comfortable. The view of the ocean was a joy to see every morning. The beach is a short walk down the boardwalk and the pool was clean and refreshing. The added history of this (almost) 100 year old home was a special bonus. Thank you Jerry (owner) for preserving Romar House!

We recently stayed at the ORH Inn at the end of October for three nights and this was our first time. Coming all the way from Utah to enjoy some beach time, we had a wonderful stay! Lillia the innkeeper is absolutely fantastic - providing a delicious breakfast each morning and nice wine and cheese each evening! We stayed in the Frank Brown Songwriter room and would highly recommend this room. Very comfortable and the whole inn is very clean, cozy and neatly decorated. The beach was very close and an easy walk. Highly recommend this inn and don't hesitate booking your stay. We will be back!

In a Sea of commercial drone condos that all look and feel the same, like your in Cancun, The Original Romar House is A#1. Style and history with excellent service on the beaches of Alabama is what this place brings. Lilia provides an excellent Bed and Breakfast experience. Thank You!

My husband and I just got back from a trip to one of the best places we've been to in a while since Covid hit.
We stayed here at the Original Romar House B&B in Orange Beach AL.
What caught my attention was the allure of a couples getaway without kids. This B&B fit exactly what I wanted for my birthday getaway.
Lilia (the Innkeeper) is amazing! She had our room (The Red Snapper) ready for our 5 day stay before we arrived. It was clean and super cozy.
We didn't have to ask for anything during our stay.
The bed was large enough for both my husband & I and it was so comfortable. (I did bring my favorite pillow and a blanket for personal use, but what was provided was comfortable. I just always travel with both for my own comfort.)
The inn itself is very very clean and so laid-back. We enjoyed the company of the couples we met during our stay.
Breakfast each morning was on time & delicious. You can either eat inside or outside. We chose to eat on the balcony each morning.
Lilia had a wine & cheese meet and greet each evening at their Purple Parrot bar which was really nice. I really enjoyed that part. lol
The bar also had a great selection of alcohol, sodas and water. It's a "do it yourself" type set up and available whenever you want to mix a drink or pick up a soda or water. Menu of prices are on the bar.
The pool & hot tub was an added bonus and Lilia cleaned both daily.
They have a private beach access in the pool area and a shower to rinse off the sand from the beach on your return.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend it for an adults only couples getaway.
I'm already planning our next visit!
Thank you Lilia for an excellent birthday week! 💜

Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The house is clean and in a great location. It is more of an intimate setting, which was perfect for our honeymoon. Especially since the beach is just a short walk away.

The property management, Deborah and Greg, showcase true southern hospitality. They are kind and respectful people who are easy to talk to. We loved waking up to the delicious breakfast each morning that they had prepared. They really take good care of their guests.

Definitely recommend for couples looking for a quiet getaway. Would love come back again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This is a wonderful historic home turned B&B, with a very charming Keys/Hemmingway vibe. We stayed in the Romar Suite, which is the only room on the upper level and has the best view of the beach, and essentially your own private balcony even though you can't get to it from the room. The beach is a bit of a stroll, so bring your buggy, but it's a private boardwalk and plenty far away from the highrise condo next door. Debbie and Greg were terrific hosts....lots of fun to talk to them and hear the history of the place, breakfasts were excellent (especially the blueberry pancakes), they made feel we had run of the place and we lacked nothing. We'll be sure to stay here next time we come to OB!

the management team of women here were nothing short of PHENOMENAL!! lillia & raeann, you two are a power duo in all aspects. we only had a slight hiccup when checking in (by no fault of the staff) that was quickly & efficiently cleared up.

truly a hidden gem for the area. outdoor pool with a waterfall, hammocks and hot tub underneath the house, clean rooms/comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts every morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM (plus mimosas!), private beach access, eclectic decor around the property, wine & cheese happy hour every evening, bar area.. did I forget to mention that this is a historic location? over 100 years old & THE first bed and breakfast in the area.

GREAT LOCATION FOR ORANGE BEACH

what more do you need? book a room here & you won’t regret it, I promise :)

This excellent experience of Southern cooking and hospitality cannot be matched anywhere else. We ladies laughed until we cried sharing life's stories and the fellas ventured equally a camaraderie. No room tv, phone, or distraction brought you mindfully back to a slower paced and 1:1 time with your mate. Lilia was a wealth of knowledge, live energy and always eager to serve in anyway possible. She is a very abled bodied and strong in ethics and politeness. The Original Romar House is an experience you dont want to miss.
Thank you Lilia and Lala. We are grateful for all you provided for stay. Charles and Joy. September 2022.

Welcoming and on the beach! This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. The house was very welcoming and our room was beautiful, although lacking a view of the sea. I loved that we had beach access from the backyard. After walking along the beach at sun down, we unwound in the private pool. Breakfast was hearty and good, a great way to start the day. Our stay was so much fun, I would definitely stay here again.
