I haven’t seen such a high-quality prairie since my summer at a nature preserve. I am absolutely in love with this park! There were tons of wildflowers, grasses, and unique bird species. There’s also a huge park for the kiddos. Whoever’s taking care of this park knows what they’re doing!!!

Wow - such a beautiful park! There are winding trails, a lovely pond, cool a nature-inspired playground, and a shady spot to rest. It's just a pleasant place to be, worth that little drive out of town.

Great place to see prairie restoration in progress. Good walking paved trails. Nice playground. The restoration is in early years yet but with scheduled burning, prairie flowers are returning. Visit often to watch the rapid changes in the spring. Better yet, become a Master Naturalist and volunteer in the process!

Definitely one of the nicest parks in C-U.

About 4 swings, couple slides, etc. But what makes this Park great for kids are the climbing features and the natural beauty and natural playscape.

And if you don't have kids, or kids get tired playing, there are paths for walking, Bridges over a pond, and plenty to explore.

This was worth the drive out of the way! There were several walking paths and neat artwork. There was also a nearby dog park which I had not known before but next time I'll be bringing my puppy with me! I was definitely pleased with this park.

A gorgeous prairie restoration with very nice, paved walking trails. The singing birds and plethora of bumblebees and butterflies are a testament to how important parks that incorporate native habitat are to wildlife. There's also a pond with a footbridge and a dock. The trails are handicap accessible.

Awesome park for any age, to go play! Nice walk paths to take in the nature scenery around you. Enough space to bring your dog to play and run.

Newly constructed family park. Clean and a great place for small activities like running and walking. Has a play ground for kids and small ponds. Dog park is very near (across Windsor). Small concerts in summer.

Porter Park is a unique area that started out as a grassy addition to a housing development on the far edge of the city. Thanks to careful nurturing by the Champaign Park Distict it has become a wonderful natural habitat. It is threaded with sidewalks that are ideal for biking, hiking, rollerblading and skateboarding, completely wheelchair accessible. There are ponds and running water, and waterfowl can be seen time to time.

I love this little park. Whenever I'm home visiting I go for my runs around the park and through this neighborhood. Any if you play pokémon there's a lot of stops

One of the very best parks in Champaign. It's MASSIVE and under-rated because it's a bit out of the way. HIGHLY recommend.
