Carlinville Area Hospital

My dad was here this week, and I have to be honest, I am skeptical of tiny rural hospitals as I have worked in all sizes of hospitals throughout my 20+ years in medicine. This is a great place. Modern facility, appropriate for the size of the hospital. The nurses, phlebotomists, NP, and hospitalist were all very kind, attentive, and made solid medical decisions regarding my father’s care. Great job guys!

Nice, compassionate, and quick. This is what you want from an ER visit. Great door to doc and decision metrics timelines. Keep it up. Drs Duncan and Khan were friendly and straightforward. ER RN Aaron was awesome!!

Nice little hospital. Seems well organized. Staff is friendly. They offer a lot of good outpatient services.

Been here a few times and now have my primary doctor here--much more convenient and closer to home vs going to Springfield and waiting an hour to get in.
As for the staff-
Everyone I've talked to here has been super friendly and helpful with whatever I needed.

It's refreshing to visit a place where you're treated as a person, not just "Patient #1234" that can sometimes happen with bigger places. Having a 7 days a week walk in clinic is also a big plus, as many places don't do weekends.

I visited Carlinville Area Hospital on April 6th 2024 for some serious pain I was having in my pelvic region. I had a CT scan done and was told I have some ovarian cysts.

I was instructed to follow up with my doctor at Carlinville Healthcare. Upon visiting my doctor, she informed of additional findings that was seen on my CT scan that was not disclosed when I initially visited the er on the 6th.
The er doctor never said a thing about the other findings. He only disclosed to me the ovarian cysts and to just folloe up with my doctor.

This is very upsetting to me and I don't understand how the er doctor didnt care to tell me of the other findings on the CT scan. I should've been informed of all findings. This makes me not trust this hospital for my care or my family's care.

Had a two test here and still haven't heard anything. Have another test here in a few weeks. Plus the lady said when I was laying down on the bed "Why are you here" my Dr made the appointment 🙄
