Montsweag Restaurant

Our dining experience was amazing here (again)! Mussels, fish and chips (and omg those homemade style fries were to die for!), chowder, chicken tenders, tequila sunrise, local draft beer - a perfect way to enjoy the best Maine has to offer.
I didn't realize they now have outside seating available as well - we'll definitely try it next time!
The staff was friendly, accommodating and quick. This is definitely one of our favorite local spots!

Can’t say enough about the food, staff and atmosphere!!! Our waitresses (Lyndsey and Tybee) were both amazing and tentative! Would and will return when we return to Maine!

We had a delightful dining experience out on the patio on a sunny late May Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend the fried haddock sandwich, perfect texture and delicate crispness. Would definitely come back!

Love this place! It’s been a staple in the area for a long time… but the new(ish) owner has done wonders for the food quality and atmosphere!! Highly recommend the house made soups and the fried chicken. Servers are fantastic, Lindsay is a ball of sunshine as are all the other employees here!

Montsweag, was Very Very Nice. Looking forward, to going back. The manager, all the waitress the entire staff, you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Seating indoors, and out. Plenty of room and the food was excellent. I had the Haddock Sandwich, it was Delicious, and a very large sandwich. Gosh, thank-you guys again, for an incredible experience ❤ we will be back.

Had not been here in several years - impressive new chef and menu, excellent food and creative offerings. Main dining room is a little noisy but otherwise nice lighting. And terrific wait staff, Jewel was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return!

Darry and I just had brunch a week ago and it was AWESOME. The new Chef Fernando greeted us and welcomed us to the Sunday Brunch. He is adorable. What a nice guy.
He pulled up a chair and chatted with us for a few and suggested trying the lobster Benedict and steak Benedict. Excellent choices. It was incredible.
The flavors were amazing.
I would definitely suggest everyone to try either of them.
And Thank You Montsweag for the complimentary champagne.

What a great little place! The atmosphere- SO laid back! The white raw beamed ceilings and eclectic rustic decor really did great for the ambience. I wish the lighting was SLIGHTLY better but too much you'd lose the whole vibe. We had the onion crisp board as an app- DEFINITELY fills you up and is more than enough for two! For our entrees we had braised pork shank with Yukon yellow potatoes and beer battered fish and chips. The braised pork and potatoes were kind of flavorless I guess for me, but my fiancee (doesn't eat as much spices/salt) could taste more flavor than I, I will say the pork was cooked to perfection and fell off the bone though. The fish was cooked absolutelyAMAZING, a lot of places I've been to over cook it and its just awful. It tasted super fresh and the batter was nice and crispy. We had creme brulee for desert which was also quite good, the custard was nice and smooth- no grit, which is quite the feat if you've never made custard from scratch! Will absolutely be visiting again! Also our hostess and waitress were so nice! The waitress was attentive and service was quick. Our waitress also informed us that the owner brings in fresh fish off his boat! How neat is that!

We love this place, they're always accommodating when we bring our 6-year-old. They have the BEST Key Lime pie I've ever had and I lived down south most of my life... thank you for great service, delicious food, and warm welcoming ambiance. We'll send people your way for sure.

We went this restaurant month ago when we were traveling in Maine .
My husband said this is best hamburger ever and i enjoyed so much fried onion .
Fish and chip is little mild for me but with sauce taste good !
I highly recommend Lindsey(hope that’s her name) the waitress .
She was very friendly and attentive
throughout our meal .
We definitely go back next year!

I have looked for a pizza with the perfect combination of crust, sauce and ingredients for three years. The bartender told me the special and I ordered it half expecting it to be less than stellar. I’m blown away! This will be what I order every chance I get!
The atmosphere is easy and friendly.

Delicious blueberry lemonade and tea. The dishes are all very large including appetizers, great for groups or hungry pair. The parmesan bites were like tiny garlic knots or pizza dough. The spinach artichoke was finely grated ingredients making it very smooth with just the right amount of cheese. The scallops were hot and perfectly pan seared. The fish and chips had a nice coating and the fish inside was cooked well. I would get the tartar sauce for an added umph because I’m a sauce person. Their ranch dressing tasted homemade and was a great choice for the side salad. The white truffle mac and cheese was amazing. Our waitress Paige was hilarious. Lots of parking available.

Amazing atmosphere. The staff is top-notch! The food was really good! It was close to closing time, and we were able to sit and have a drink, dinner, and dessert. We were told not to rush quite a few times.

We eat at the Montsweag Restaurant regularly because it's one of the best restaurants in the Bath area. This is Maine Restaurant Week, so we wanted to find out what the Montsweag is offering as specials. Wow!! They have a special menu with interesting and tasty selections. You can order the 3-course menu for $55 prix fixe, or you can order items ala carte. We particularly liked as a starter the pizzetta, and as entrees both the Fisherman's Seafood Kettle and the Lamb Stew. We tried both the tiramisu and poached pear desserts. Both were delicious.

The Montsweag now serves brunch. We will be sampling that soon.

Located on Route 1 in Woolwich we found this great place for dinner. Upon entering we were greeted with a festive atmosphere of happy patrons. This is a finely decorated restaurant with an excellent menu. The food and drink, as well as the service, were all fantastic. You can't go wrong here. Highly recommended.

Buratta on top of marinara with heirloom tomatoes was out of this world delicious. Lindsey was our fantastic waitress. One of the best experiences we have had in a long time.

The meal was delicious. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We also met the owner who was very personable. Overall, it was a wonderful evening.

We were shopping at Big Al’s and looked for something close. Found this place on google maps and so we decided to give it a try.

It was AMAZING!! French onion soup, a quinoa bowl with root veggies and finished with a giant piece of warm gingerbread with spiced whipped cream.

Finally, our waitress Paige was the best of the best!!

Get welcomed by some of the friendliest people around. Onion Crisp Board to start. Bring friends to help eat them or you'll end up with plenty of leftovers like I did. Highly recommend the Country Fried Chicken with mashed potato and veggies. HUGE chunk of boneless chicken fried extra crispy. Winner winner chicken dinner! Throw in a couple margaritas and you've got a spectacular evening.

Glad we found this gem. They had lots of gluten free options for me and my family, including pizza and fish tacos. I really liked the summer berry salad.
