we were out visiting the town from new york and were craving some coffee and bagels (and toast), and this place really hit the spot. the service was far better than some of the service we have received at other cafes. the employees were extremely friendly, hospitable, and welcoming - engaging in kind conversation as we waited for our order. and about the food . . . some of the best we have had. highly recommend the variety of unique flavors of toast, the hot chocolate (even in the summertime), and the everything bagel with cream cheese . . . they’ll make you want to go back for more! overall i would have to say a 10/5 star rating!

This place was the best! The barista knew what they were doing. Coffee was strong/smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. There were delicious cookies/pastries available. There was also a small but well curated gift shop.

You gotta stop by here. You won’t regret it!

A definite STOP!! We ordered the mushroom n Chèvre and the The Gertie, Matcha Latte and Tea. Good prices, absolutely delicious, quaint store. We’re visiting from Florida and will definitely be back!!

One of our favorite spots for coffee while traveling! Every time we are in the area we ALWAYS stop. Highly recommend the Whiskey Barrel Coffee :-)

Nice little Cafe with great coffee drinks and smoothies. Try the barrel aged cold brew. Aged in old bourbon barrels, it has a nice smoky flavor. Very nice patio area out back.

I turned my car around because the “shop local” sign got me. I got a mocha, and it was so good! Also they have OAT MILK (for a very reasonable upcharge of 50¢) and it made for the creamiest drink ever. The space is bright and cheery. I’ll be back for sure.

We did not try any food, but we had some great coffee to give us an afternoon pick up. We got some cold brew and cider which were both tasty!

Cute place! Got an excellent cappuccino and cold brew. The staff were friendly and while we didn’t sit back there, the hydrangea lined back porch looked idyllic!

My husband and I we're on our way back to FL driving from Acadia and we pulled into this coffee bar. I am a coffee enthusiasts, I have to say this was our favorite coffee spot we have ever been to and that's saying alot for how much we travel. The outside is absolutely gorgeous, the bathroom is extremely clean, the inside is so cozy and welcoming. The owner is extremely nice and makes amazing coffee!!! Cute things to purchase through out the market as well! We were saying how we wish we lived in Maine just for this coffee bar.

So great! We were just looking for a lunch-stop for the family at the beginning of a long trip. Drinks and sandwiches were great - but even more than that, we were so touched by the way this couple was building a great little gathering place. The cafe-shop was full of local products, which the owner had personally selected and was ready to share with you about the products & their makers & what made them great - so refreshing! In the back, patio seating was thoughtfully appointed, tucked into a forested lot, with plans to expand into a fire pit and even nature trails! So great to see a small business, supporting locals, and creating a beautiful, natural place for people to connect!

While out exploring Maine, we came along this amazing gem of a coffeehouse, local family owned and operated. We were greeted with warm & welcoming smiles. I had a macchiato and my bf had a bourbon barrel aged cold brew. Both drinks had great depth in flavors, aromatic, and smooth with every sip. We both ordered a sausage egg on everything bagel. It was fresh, warm and delicious.
We were able to enjoy our morning coffee & breakfast in the back patio surrounded by beautiful gardens. And before we left, we had the opportunity to chat with the owners, who were hard working, knowledgeable, and kind people. All that said, whenever we’re back in Maine, this is our spot to go for coffee & conversations! Thank you to the owners & barista for a good experience!

A coffee shop with some extras (candies etc)
Several tables on the backyard.
It’s on south-east side of Hwy 1.
Making a left turn back to the hwy can be hard if there traffic.
The toilet is in a wooden outhouse on the backyard.

I'm a coffee snob. Only the creme de' le creme will do. 5 star? Really? More like 100 star. The coffee is like no other. Roasted on site. Very very highly recommended. Support local.

We went here for coffees. Came out with a pesto egg sandwich with pesto tomato mozzarella and everything bagel and a matcha latte. Both were fabulous! We ate and drank on the back patio and the flowers and tables were delightful. Recommend Birches!

Super friendly people at this spot. Food was excellent. Most importantly, the cold brew iced coffee was on point! Clean place with bathroom out back. Good for a daily coffee stop, great for travelers needing to stop for a pit stop!

Coconut cold brew was fantastic, best I’ve ever had!!! The avocado toast was also delicious, and they have gluten free bread which is great. There was an excellent selection of local cheeses and the owners were very knowledgeable about the products, the farms, etc. I would definitely recommend this place.
