Northern Light staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s a doctors office so everyone is usually gonna be stressed and/or irritated because they’re already sick but the entire staff is patient, calm, helpful, and supportive of those who might be on edge. They are timely and always make an effort to squeeze you in when you need it! Clean facilities and a very comprehensive network in Bangor makes it easy to get the help you need! Very happy with my experience here!

I've been going here for about 6 months or so and I'm very happy with the care I've received. Like anywhere I had a time convincing them of my ailments but after a couple visits I was on track. Dr. Samer has helped me more than any provider in my life. I have had multiple horrific experiences in the past and this place is the first I found that treats me like a human being.

Meghan Warchol is amazing! I would highly suggest her as a primary care doctor. She's knowledgeable, very friendly, and really puts you at ease.

Meghan Warchol is terrific. I needed labs and they drew them right there. Pleasant staff and very accommodating.

Communication is not their strong point. Always have to call in to get results/take the next step of a process and wait at least 45 minutes on hold before you get to talk to anyone, every time. Doesn’t matter if the doctors are good or not when you can’t get a hold of them.

UPDATE: Use the patient portal to contact your doctor. It’s pretty much the only reasonable way to communicate with them as the phone situation is still a mess. However given the doctor I’ve been seeing is so professional and kind I’ve found it worth while to work through the communication challenges

Ive never had so much trouble getting through to fill prescriptions to a doctors office than I have at this one. Some of the receptionist are nice but over would not recommend.

Overall experience with the surgeons. Doctors, nurses, even the cleaning staff was excellent. The food however has gone down hill since becoming northern lights. I've know 5 year olds that had a better idea on how food should taste and be presented. I honestly feel the e tire kitchen staff should be fired. Something really needs to be done.

Family practice docs are amazing, if you can get into see them. Was on hold for 20 min only to be put on hold again for another fifteen. Hung up and put on hold for twenty. My child is sick but not sick enough to go to the ER, urgent care isn’t an appropriate substitute for you PCP. I understand healthcare in our area is difficult but I can’t even talk to someone to even see when the next appt is available. Did they downstaff receptionists? What’s the deal?

Just getting someone to return a phone call seems to be a challenge for Northern Light. Very disappointing to say the least. I am already a Northern Light client and just relocated. I wanted to set an appointment to see a PCP and make them my new provider. Unfortunately this location has the same issues as Sebasticook. You cannot get anyone to return your call.

My doctor at Husson Family Medicine is good- I'm happy with him.

Getting through to his office is another thing entirely. I regularly wait on hold for more than 20 minutes. Regularly. As someone with a lot of acute issues right now, as well as chronic issues that require frequent doctor's appointments, this means I spend a LOT of time on hold. Made worse by the fact that this is a problem that seems to plague the Northern Light healthcare system as a whole. (I have the same problem with Gastroenterology, as well as Northern Light Orono Family Medicine (which was where I went before it closed and I was switched to Husson) and other Northern Light offices.

Between all my doctors, I can easily spend a couple of hours on the phone each week, between phone tag and making appointments. Please note: the staff is friendly and helpful when they answer the phone- I've seen how busy they are when I go in for appointments- this isn't an issue of carelessness, it's an issue of understaffing.

It's a little insulting that every couple of minutes, while on hold, there is an automated voice that comes on reassuring the person on hold that "your call is important to us...." NO, IT ISNT. If it was, you wouldn't keep patients on hold for so long. Please show some respect for everyone's time and hire more people!
