Wiscasset is our final destination before we went home.
I can recomend this restaurant.
If possible ask for a place at the windows, if they ask you to wait for it, do it, you won't be dissapointed.
I had crispy salmon with a bacon lobster hash and it was delicious, my fiance had scallops with a very cream risotto which also very very good.

While wait, treat yourself on a cocktail, those are also very good.

Enjoy!

This is an amazing restaurant. Never had a bad dish. The food is flavorful and absolutely wonderful. Nice atmosphere with a view of the water. Can make reservations online, which I highly recommend. Cheeseburgers for kids on the menu and a great mix of seafood, steak, and more on the menu. Portions not extremely large but very filling. Prices about $20 and up per meal. One of my favorite places to go. Highly recommend.

Took a break to grab a bite. With all the burgers we've been eating this week, we thought of giving a turkey burger a shot, can't recommend it enough! How about those truffle fries?

We had lunch here and it was awesome. Wife loved loved the butternut squash soup and chicken burger (her words, best ever). My fried haddock sandwich was awesome with crisp pickles and melted cheese. And the shoestring fires were perfect. And the view was even better than the food. Add water street kitchen to you to-do list!

Amazing ! Start to finish. We had the shrimp scampi and charred Brussels sprouts with garlic toast and white bean soup. It was delightful ❤

Lovely porch area and a great cocktail (sidecar) to start with. I had 2 appetizers for dinner: ½ portion of cacio e pepe & cajun shrimp. But the best part was the key lime pie - wow!

We had a great visit today for lunch. Sat at the far end of the porch, right by the windows, looking out at a beautiful day on the water.
Our server, Laura, took great care of us. Food came out promptly, drinks were refilled, and the check came out right away once requested.
Food was delicious. Please see the pics. I also posted a video of the view and our section of the dining area.
Price was appropriate for the view, service and food quality.

We took our son and daughter in law for his birthday. The setting was beautiful and the service great. Our appetizers and entrees were quick and delicious. We hope to go back again when in the area.

August 6, 2022 . . . Update review rating!

Perfect Score / 5 stars! Thank you chef for the new menu, featured a wonderfuly delicious Fra Diavolo & Humus appetizer! Nick’s superb as our server, AGAIN! Our Maryland guest loved her dining experience as the sun set over the Sheepscot River!

*Also added few more photos*

June 20, 2021 - For a great (seafood) dinner, try this Wiscasset restaurant in a quaint New England town along the Sheepscot River . . . I rate this as a 4.99 experience! ( with 1 small suggestion) Chef & owner Ed Colburn renovated the old Le Garage restaurant, and opened his new Water Street Kitchen & Bar Restaurant in 2019.

Our 1st time at the Water Street Restaurant, my wife and I loved the food & the sunset views along the water! ( Father’s Day) We strolled through town, looking at the historic buildings while waiting for our dinner reservations. I recommend visitors enjoy the sites in Wiscasset, then pick one of several eating establishments.

Chef Colburn brings over a decade of experience in cooking Mediterranean Cuisine to Wiscasset. The appetizers & entrees utilize fresh herbs & spices, local farm fresh veggies ( try the whole roasted cauliflower appetizer), and in season local fruits. As we watched the sun set over the River, my wife and I shared a delicious Greek Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, topped with feta cheese . . . while I sipped one of Maine’s hard apple ciders. My wife spoke highly of her Merlot, while nibbling the hard crusted garlic bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil.

The entrees seemed to favor seafood & pasta combinations, but there were a few “turf” selections for land lovers ( Hanger Steak, Chicken Marsala, Le Garage Burger, and Grilled Pork Chop). Hey, when in Rome !
My wife was thrilled with her Mussels Arrabiata ( refers to a tomato based sauce with some chili pepper heat) over pasta! Then I ordered Cioppino ( Seafood stew) which includes mussels, shrimp, haddock, in lobster brodo ( broth in Italian). . . “Tip my hat” to the chef for adding lobster meat . . . FANTASTIC! We couldn’t resist the fresh baked desserts from an outside bakery, we boxed up the blueberry cheesecake & triple Belgian chocolate mousse. (2 hours later, enjoyed those delicious treats!

Mediterranean Cuisine offers:

Culinary delights from Greece, Turkey, Israel, Italy, Egypt, Spain, etc.

Awesome spices & herbs such as . . . Basil, bay leaf, cloves, coriander, fennel, garlic, paprika, rosemary, saffron, tarragon, thyme, turmeric, oregano, parsley, sage, cumin, black pepper, etc.

We must include olives, and olive oil and
Hummus ( chick peas) which add loads of healthy dietary benefits!

In conclusion, I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for both it’s high quality of food & service (thanks Nick), plus the ambiance of riverside views!

( old review)
1 Suggestion for a perfect score. . .

Hummus in some form would complete the Mediterranean culinary experience !

The lounge area, complete with comfortable couches that invite you to unwind and enjoy the ambiance creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The laid-back atmosphere encourages conversations to flow freely, making it a great place to catch up with friends or simply relax after a long day.

With their mouthwatering array of meals, stunning water views, and impeccable chef service, this place has won my heart. It has become a cherished tradition for me and my friend to indulge in their delectable chicken wings from the bar menu and enjoy the inviting atmosphere. If you find yourself in Wiscasset, make sure to visit Water Street Kitchen and Bar - your taste buds will thank you, and you'll be drawn back time and time again.

Came in here for lunch on a whim earlier this week and had a great lunch with my family! I ordered the grilled street corn and the fried haddock sandwich - both were great! Others at my table had the fish and chips, lobster pasta, and garlic bread and everyone was happy with their food! Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

This is a beautiful restaurant with a creative menu. We loved the roast cauliflower and brussel sprouts appetizers, but everything was excellent. We'll look forward to visits here being a new tradition.

Our first visit. Everything we ordered was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. My only cons were not enough dressing on the Ceasar Salad, no salt and pepper on the table or offered. Small stuff. I'll be back!

Great food and cocktails - a nice, higher end break from the lobster rolls and fried clams you’ll also be gorging on at local shacks in this region.

Our server Maddy was very nice and helpful - tolerated our terrible jokes and was attentive without being overly-present.

Popped in on a whim while passing through for the weekend. So glad we did, was completely blown away with the meal and honestly the price. In Boston our bill would have easily been 3x the cost for food this delicious. We got truffle fries, butternut squash soup, shrimp scampi, mussels, and a few drinks. I wish I lived closer, I'd eat here all the time and then hate the food everywhere else, lol.

Water Street is my favorite local eatery. I always sit at the bar unless I really want to have more of a slow sit down meal experience.
Their bar menu is the best I've had anywhere and that says a lot because I usually like sitting at bars and I'm a picky eater. My favorites are: turkey burger, salmon burger, truffle fries, kale salad. Literally everything is delicious. Kathleen, one of the bartenders is a hoot and one of the best cocktail makers I've seen! We like to sit at the bar and play cards while drinking and eating and they've never had a problem with that. It's also a great bar to meet locals at along with summertime tourists.
If you sit in the dining room, there are spectacular reviews of the river.

Update: still loving Water Street!! Never fails to make my tummy and soul happy.

Wow we absolutely LOVED this place! My husband and I have small appetites so it was sooo nice to see that they do half orders on their pasta dishes. It was all so delicious! Next time we'll get the truffle fries! A neighboring guest got them and they smelled heavenly

The decor here is really quite awesome and it seems the chef gives the same attention to detail that the decorator did to the decor. I've been twice now and have not been disappointed either time. Can't wait to go on a sunny day to soak in the scenery.

Forget anywhere else to eat in this area and stop here. Not only have they restored the building to beautiful point of interest, the food and spirits were delicious. We had the Brussel sprouts with the horseradish and the paella. The decor made me swoon.
