Coming highly recommended by friends who lived in Houghton for a long time, this breakfast and lunch diner didn't disappoint. With Finnish roots and flare in the food, you'll find sweet and savory breakfast options, baked goods, and more. The service was fast and friendly and the food delivered as expected. A true "up north" diner with great people, great food, great atmosphere, and affordable prices!

Awesome place. First time eating Finnish food. Got there for breakfast. Ordered the Pannukakku and the cardamom toast a.k.a Nisu.
Both were awesome!

Coffee was fresh brewed in a carafe, if I recall correctly. And it was very smooth.

Will absolutely return.

Highly recommended! Great place, delicious food, nicest people, fantastic service. Typical wait time is around 10 minutes. Sundays are usually busier because of churchgoers. I lived in this town for around 4.5 years and this is the best place to have breakfast and lunch.

Absolutely ridiculously good service and food I got the blueberry pancakes with sausage and eggs and I highly recommend them. It was delicious and I will definitely be going back soon.

My best place for brunch in town. I ordered Blackberry pancakes with two egss, and sausage. As usual, everything was perfect. One of my friends had a farmer's omelet, which was really good as well. You do get free refills on coffee. Specialty nisu toast, and Pannukakku were again delicious and mouth watering!

It was surprising to me that the prices have not raised even in this inflation. Service was great (thanks to Rhy, our server) and always makes me come back to this place!!!

Are you looking for the best brunch in the upper peninsula? This is it. This is your standard brunch with a Finnish/UP twist and everything comes at an excellent price.

All the food is a little bit different here. We came in hungry and had a pastie, the pannukakku (a custard dish with raspberry syrup), the mushroom omelet, the 3-Meat omelet, and a combination breakfast dish. For toast, they offer some Finnish toast - both regular and cinnamon. Both are fantastic.

The quality of this place hasn't gone unnoticed. Be prepared for a wait at peak hours.

Had breakfast there. Very good and quick service, delicious food. Usually busy but the wait has never been too bad. Highly recommend! :)

6/29/21. They are short staffed, please be kind. There is a sign stating this too. We aren't from here and decided to stop by based on the great reviews! I tried the nisu bread french toast(it has cardamom!) , my husband had the biscuits and gravy, pancake, and we both had bacon. Delicious all around! Hard working waitresses, hosts and cooks!

Woah, great bang regardless of price, but it just happens to be pretty inexpensive anyway. The pannukakku (Finnish oven pancake) are pretty much a giant custard. The omelettes were very large for 3 eggs. The hashbrowns were actually shredded potatoes and not mini cube cut. The French toast is extra large but not thick, just large and sweet even without any additional sauces. The pasties are like hand held pot pies, really filling without anything else

Delicious breakfast. I go to the UP once a year, and this is a stop on every such trip. The pannukakku is delicious and, when paired with nisu toast and your choice of meat, makes a complete breakfast. I cannot find anything remotely close to that in North Carolina. Staff is still very friendly despite the fact they are always busy. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through the area.

Fantastic breakfast place; I got the special blueberry pannukakku and their breakfast pasty with a side of breakfast gravy; the pannukakku was 10/10!

We've been eating breakfast here for 20+ years and never had a bad breakfast. Always fantastic Finnish comfort food and coffee!

Great food! The pannukkaku is the thing to get. So creamy. We decided to get some pasties as some locals say they have the best here. Taking those frozen beauties home. It's worth the wait to eat here.

Update. We got home and cooked the pasties the next day. Literally the best I have ever had. The flaky dough is to die for. Perfection.

Absolutely delicious & the staff is always wonderful! It can get pretty busy & the wait line can get long, but the staff are always quick to get you seated. Just be prepared to wait, it's worth it 😉

We went on a Sunday morning. One thing that I liked was that they have a pad of paper sitting in the waiting area that you put your name and number in your party for a table. Really easy system, but I saw at least a couple patrons that had issues with it.

Once we were seated, our server came promptly, provided water and got our drink order. Came back maybe 5 minutes later and took our breakfast order.

Food arrived approximately 15 minutes later. It was hot and well presented. We enjoyed every bite.

Paying at the end was just walking up to the counter and settling the bill. Be aware that you'll be charged more for using a credit or debit card.

Fun Mom and Pop atmosphere, great food and prices. Look at the crosswalks at the adjacent intersection.

Breakfast is so good here and CHEAP, 2 of us ate a huge breakfast for around $20 (not pictured), which was refreshing to see and delicious to experience.

We went for breakfast during a busy Winter Carnival weekend. The food was amazing - definitely worth the wait to get in. (We had to wait about 20 minutes) The server was very friendly and the every dish we got was super.
