Oriental Jade Restaurant & Bar

I was very impressed by this restaurant. The food was fresh and well prepared with a lot of unique flavors. The ingredients tasted high quality, particularly the veggies. Gus was a great server/bartender and I appreciated his attentiveness!

I came here with a few co-workers for lunch. I pride myself on being a Pad Thai connoisseur. It had been a little while since I had been to the Oriental Jade but I plan to go back very soon. I LOVED the Pad Thai. The staff, service and food was amazing. I will be bringing my kids here on Thursday night when kids eat FREE. What a deal for hard working families. Thank you.

My fav place for Chinese food. I don’t go anywhere else. I used to love the bang bang chicken but now it’s a little too spicy. When they used to make it before they would sometimes make it on the sweeter side and I liked it then.
Now I just get the honey chicken, which is great! I would definitely recommend.

Unique spot. Nothing fancy. But the food was excellent and the staff were all lovely. The rum drinks they serve are strong! Highly recommend trying the lunch special so you get a little bit of everything!

This was my 4th visit with friends. We were seated right away and greeted by our waitress. She was knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. Food was delicious ( chicken and fresh pineapple stir fry in a sweet chili sauce) and I recommend the oolong tea.

It is always fast and friendly service. I ordered take out for New Year's and chose the ramen. I was happy with their limited menu they had such a variety to offer. Everything is always hot, and as ordered when I receive it. This is our go to Asian restaurant both for eat in and take out.
I would love for them to add dim sum to their menu.

Great customer service from bartender Nathan. Super genuine guy that's willing to answer any questions you have about the menu or general conversation! The St. Patty's corned beef bao bun was seriously delicious and left a good impression as my first bao bun experience. Great food presentation that pleasantly surprised me! Great dining atmosphere... looking forward to dining more in the future!

This is by far the best Chinese food experience we’ve had since leaving our hometown in California 10 years ago.
First let me talk about the food, then I’ll talk about the service and then the Atmosphere then I’ll give my conclusion.
The food was so good it literally brought tears to mine and my wife’s eyes; being both so nostalgic as it reminded us of home and was just so delicious. It is possibly the best Chinese food I’ve had in the last 30 years!
You can tell that not only is the cook knowledgeable but that you can taste that they are passionate about their food and that they really care and want you to know how good Asian cuisine can be and just how complex the flavors can be. The food was so good and fresh and there were genuinely high level cooking skills being used.
As an example: we ordered the tangerine beef as one of our dishes. Beyond the sauce being hand made, as was the batter, but the beef was perfectly thinly sliced and, in a feat that I have never seen mastered before, the meat was fried enough to make the batter perfectly crispy while cooking the thinly sliced beef perfectly. The meat was still pink and juicy and just wonderfully tender!
Next, the service:
It was phenomenal! Everyone there was not just polite, they were welcoming and really nice and incredibly helpful you could just tell that they really enjoyed being there. Our waitress not only knew the menu but she was proud of the food and was a fan herself of eating there. She was so warm and funny, not once did we feel pressured by her and she was so patient with us asking her for so much as we not only ordered a large dinner, but we also had appetizers and we put in a large to-go order as well. She took care of us perfectly. I don’t know if she wants her name out publicly so in that regard I won’t say it, but if she’s reading this we were the heavier set couple in dark clothing, my wife had a Pug hat on.
So from us to you, Thank you, you were amazing!
If her boss is reading this, she is the waitress with curly hair and glasses and she’s amazing and deserves praise.
Now the Atmosphere:
The restaurant itself was beautiful and well designed. The lighting was excellent the seating was comfortable. It didn’t feel too claustrophobic nor was it too spacious and empty. There was a good flow to the place and the colors and aesthetics were pleasing. However, if I were to have one complaint it would be the music was just a bit too loud where we were sitting. Being that I am nearly deaf and have to wear hearing aids it did cause some difficulties at first with hearing my wife across the table and conversing with the waitress. I’m privileged enough to have really good hearing aids that I can adjust on the fly and I was able to eventually adjust my hearing aids to accommodate the scenario but it was an issue that I did run into.
In conclusion:
This was wonderful experience that we are going to be returning to soon and as often as we can. My wife and I don’t go out much because of our work and honestly we haven’t really found much in our area that excites us enough to get us out. Well, that has changed. We were just driving by on our way to another restaurant as it had been a long frustrating day and we were hungry. We decided to take a chance on this place instead and we’re just blown away!
If you want great flavors, wonderful textures, terrific service and just a great night out, come here. If you want the boring old single note experience that you’re use to then go literally anywhere else.

As a side note: I never write reviews, but this place just really deserves to have as many praises sung about it as possible!

We stopped in for lunch for the first time and the food was very good. They had a nice selection of lunch sized options. I ordered the Oriental Jade fried rice, it was fantastic. I love the dishes they use. It was a mini wok.

Best Chinese food in Bangor Maine. The only Chinese place in Maine that doesn't feel grimy, dirty, or unsanitary. Hands down the cleanest around.

Service was fast and friendly. They serve you dried noodles with kimchi (equivalent of chips and salsa), and all of the dishware was spotlessly clean.

We had the Generals Tofu and a Pupu for one. Everything about the Pupu was the absolute best food I've EVER eaten.

Renovations are really nice and if you are a sushi fan definitely check it out! Try some of the new stuff like the bao buns! You can still order all of your old favorites too, even though though buffet is gone.

This is the best Asian restaurant in Bangor that I have found! The bartender was top-notch, and his food service was excellent. I'll be back!

I took my son there for dinner. My son made a giant mess with rice. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The decorations are very nice and my son enjoyed them. He's asked to go back soon!
The ribs, crab ragoon and pork fried rice are the best around.

Whenever I come back I visit the jade and there have never been any tentacles, eyeballs, or spiders in my soup. But it still feels like the It movie .

Best Chinese food in town, hands-down. Locally owned is a +++.
Bangor Beer Co. out back has a great bar atmosphere to hang-out after work, a shopping break (in the Mall/plaza areas, or a Pre-movie theater eats/drinks conveniently next door.

Never been here before and the food was very good.

Had the brussle sprouts appetizer. Cooked through and still had some snap to them, excellent seasoning and very flavorful.

The 1/2 duck was delicious, crispy skin, and seasoned well. The accompanying sauce was very good as well and helped cut some of the natural duck oil.

It was my waitress first day (Hope), she was lovely and delt with the many questions I had very capably.

A great experience and I will be back.

Delicious food, excellent customer service and very considerate of allergies.

I've been here several times, the food and the customer service are consistently good, and make it worth coming back. My favorite dish here is the pork tonkatsu ramen, the noodles are cooked perfectly and the depth and flavor of the broth are exquisite. The customer service here is generally good as well, but 3 employees in particular stand out for excellent customer service, Teri Lynn, Kauri, and Felicia. They've been consistently awesome and helpful every time weve come in, and they've always made my partners safety (food allergies) a priority, even to the point of taking the order directly to the kitchen themselves. Its little touches like that that make a restaurant truly amazing!!!

Love Eric and Gus as the bartenders! Very personable once you have become frequent visitors 😉. Food is always very good.
