Virginia Coney Island

Saw the reviews and spoke with the locals and this is where they told me to go for an authentic Jackson style coney. Soft bun, hotdog with a snap the right hit of mustard covered with finely chopped coney meat and a lot of finely cut onions.

It’s not a Lafayette coney or Flint. It has its own flare and was very good.

Booth and bar seating. Interior is dated with a throw back diner atmosphere. Spunky servers and friendly staff. They have limited hours and do accept credit cards for payments. NO TIPS can be put on the card. CASH TIPS only. I even got one of their VCI coney kits to take home to the family. I would recommend.

I love this Coney Island. It has the old school feel, the staff is great and attentive and the coneys are by far the best! Georgene is always a fun and delightful person to have waiting on you. I like to order my coneys with light onion, as they regularly come with a lot, and add some shredded cheese. I have Ben coming to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. It’s nice walking into an establishment and having all the pride working know you by name. Virginia’s is a staple in the Jackson community.

The Old Bat that waited on us was such a ball buster! She was as ornery as the day is long! It wasn't easy but I got her to smile before all was said and done. These are the things that give the little greasy spoons that Midwestern charm!

Good but not great I'm afraid. Good sauce on the coney but wished there were more, buns not the freshest, HOWEVER, the dogs had a nice snap and were perfect, as were the onions. Fries a little underdone. Super nice staff and pretty quick service!

Just the way I remember ... still. Don't ever change; holding fast to your heritage is what makes you great. Simply delicious.

In business since 1914 (and I am pretty sure in the same location), that says it all. Our family drives to Jackson from Lansing exclusively to buy and est Virginia Coney Island dogs... and have done so for many years. One day, I was standing inside, waiting for my takeout order. Also waiting was an elderly gentleman. He told me (he lived in Jackson) he ate his first Virginia Coney Island in 1939... just before he served in WWII. Now, that is loyalty!!!

Very good food. Service is great. Food was hot. Plenty of parking. I had 2 coney's and coffee. Coffee was good as well.

Best coney dogs in the country. We travel from Montana just to eat them here. Bun, dogs and gravy are all perfect every time. Mom and dad used to come in after they finished….

This place is the best place for a good meal and you can get it at a decent price and it’s really good food for a really good meal you can eat at home or in the vrestaurant staff is very helpful to the community and the customers are always there for you when you’re hungry the same recipe from day they have opened up the restaurant I love it best coney around Jackson 100%everyday

Best place for coney lunch, friendly staff, relaxed environment

Was delighted to find that they had a Coney Island "kit" that I could take home and share with my husband. I heated the hot dogs in my air fryer at 330 degrees for 9 minutes, while I heated the chili and onions in the microwave. I put about 1/2 inch of water in a pot with my vegetable steamer basket inserted, brought it to a boil, cut the heat and let the buns steam for about 45 seconds. I grew up in Jackson and Virginia Coney Island was always our favorite.
