Wescott Library

Wescott Library is wonderful! Amazing selection of books. Children's area is inviting and cozy. Many engaging activities for kids of all ages. The entire library is clean and the staff is friendly.

It is a really impressive library with excellent resources such as 3D printers and first come first serve study rooms. I have checked out their science and genealogy sections which had a good collection. I love how spacious the parking lot is which gives the place a grand and natural feel to it. I am intrigued to visit again.

The perfect neighborhood library. The iLab now has two 3D printers. We signed up with no experience at 3D printing and made an awesome chip clip with help from the librarian.

This library is different then what I am used to by that I mean it is only one location for 68,000 people that live in Eagan. When I lived in Denver, CO. there were 2 city libraries close to me whereas one of them was like 2 blocks away. And the fact this library is owned and operated by Dakota County instead of Eagan, and one must have a car to get here as there is no bus service for one to get here which makes it hard for disabled folks in wheelchairs unless they qualify for Metro Mobility. But, I digress here.

The library itself is spacious and offers many services that are convenient for folks. I like the computer terminals, WiFi service is good, they offer DVD movies and CD music discs, 3D printing service, meeting rooms, and offer various services throughout the year. The staff are very professional and friendly which is a nice experience overall.

And what I like the most about this library is NO homeless folks smoking pot or doing meth in the bathrooms which is a common occurrence in Denver, CO. libraries, and unfortunately a library had to close to clean up the meth residue. With no homeless running around Eagan makes it nice to live and play here. :)

I recently had a bracket break on my kitchen drawers that is no longer produced and was lucky enough to find a 3d printer file for the part. I found online that many Dakota County libraries (including Wescott) offer 3d printing and made an appointment to try it out.

The staff at Wescott were really helpful and patient when I arrived and didn't really know what I was doing. I learned that I should have booked a tutorial session in addition to reserving the 3d printer, but the staff was nice enough to help me out since the library wasn't that busy.

It was a lot of fun to learn how to use the printer and the staff helped walk me through all of the steps in the process. The bracket printed successfully (it took about an hour and a half to print all 430 layers) and my drawer is fixed!

I want to try to design some other (more fun) items and use the printer again in the future.

So helpful and so clean. I’m new to Dakota county and wanted to get a library card. I was helped from library card, to finding the book I was looking for, to showing me the self checkout process. Great place!

Excellent library! They have some great resources for creatives! This library has a sound booth, and some workstations for editing audio and video. It also has some private study rooms that you can rent out. I love public libraries, I hope these never close.

Great place to do homework. Chill atmosphere. Always enough space available and plenty of outlets. Friendly staff who helped me locate my lost USB drive. Beautiful garden out front.

This is a wonderful library with a wide variety of books. Amazing staff and community, with all the necessities you could ask for in a local library. Great place to do school work as well. With plenty of chairs and tables as well as private study rooms.

They have a great selection, plenty of variety to choose from!

I love this library. It's always quiet and a great place to get work done. The design is old school, but in a good way, i.e., it doesn't look like a children's museum.

Nice library to just study or read books. Pretty calm area and has a good variety of books.

I teach at a local preschool and run the summer camp program for grades K-5th. I take my class to this library every summer and have to say that it has one of the nicest children's areas I have seen. The nature-inspired paintings in the area, and the support columns being painted as different types of trees in particular, are so lovely and create a calm, yet interesting atmosphere. Besides the books, the area also has a few small play spaces and some very nice areas to sit down and read for the children. I also often search for and reserve books online to use in my class all year round, and this library, and Dakota county libraries in general, are wonderful at getting them in a timely manner. So convenient and helpful! They have even helped me find and re-reserve books when I was a day late picking them up! Great library!

Fantastic library! The staff is helpful and the catalog is great. Staff helped me learn to use the interlibrary loan system so I can request any book that is in a library in the state of Minnesota- amazing😄

Love this library. Apart from several learning and play items for kids, they have sewing and 3d printing machines as well. A very good collection of magazines and newly-released books. They even have group reading kits for elders and learning kits for kids. The staff are always very helpful. Clean restrooms, ample space to sit and read with your kids.

Library was very well organized. Everyone at the library was very friendly and helpful.

It was not crowded and the library is open for all the visitors with little precautions

Checkout and returning of the books was very easy and flexible.

Very calm , peaceful , well maintained place you can go with your kids , family , friends and spend some quality time.

I had a project to work on and was able to use a computer and get my work done quickly.

Quiet. Comfortable chairs. Good place to browse or settle in with a good book.
