The Anchor Coffee House

A great find through Google map reviews for a coffee shop with good atmosphere and yummy coffee! I had a perfectly crafted cappuccino and hubby had an oat milk latte. Both done to perfection. We had a delicious blueberry muffin and lemon poppyseed muffin. We also ordered a toasted bagel that was perfectly toasted with a light chewy texture. If you want a relaxing clean upscale coffee shop then this is the place for you!

First time in White Bear Lake and I popped into this cute coffee shop! I tried their White Bear Latte with White chocolate, maple and cinnamon. ❤😍❤ SUPER fun and authentic space filled with mobile office people, neighbors, friends, and studiers. A classic piano is placed near the coffee bar, so I know this place is a hit when the music plays. Thank you for your fast service, happy staff, and fun patrons. What a UNIQUE jem in this town! (P.s. the downtown scene is FUN for old school buildings and masonry.)

An awesome atmosphere for a coffee hangout. Loved the mood of this place. Seating was easy. Ordering is easy as well. Coffee is great and you can ask to make it stronger if you want. The morning we went, they even had a lady playing a Ukulele and that added another level to the tone to the place. If you're looking for coffee that isn't Starbucks or Caribou, come here. Such a cool place to hangout and get your morning energy up and running.

This is a really nice coffee shop. There are several large tables and a side room with smaller tables. When I was there it seemed that there were a lot of groups of twos and threes.

It certainly had a lively vibe so if you’re looking for a quieter place it might not be the best choice, but I really appreciated the atmosphere.

The espresso drinks are high quality and well crafted. I enjoyed the white bear mocha.

We loved the aesthetics of the shop, the environment is perfect for a day date, getting work done, or studying. The maple Latte with Oat milk was SO good and I wish I lived closer to White Bear so I could visit more often!

The Anchor hosted an after hours event that was very well attended. There were a few performers (singing, poetry, guitar, keyboard) as well as a few speakers who shared deeply about their lives. The atmosphere at Anchor is cozy and all about community. It has several tables to enjoy coffee, tea, etc., and a variety of food items. The historic building has high ceilings and wood floors with parking right out front. The establishment is also within walking distance of many shops, the library, banking, and the walking path along the lake. Great place for a treat or bite to eat.

I've been to this sweet coffee shop a few times but brought my daughter today. I LOVE the coffee here. It's one of the few places that I don't get a migraine or stomach ache from the coffee. It's delicious. My daughter ordered hot chocolate and thanked me many times for buying it for her. She said it's the best hot chocolate she has ever had! We've got to head back with the rest of the family for the best hot chocolate ever. :)

I Love this place! Music and atmosphere is amazing. One down fall, the barista preparing drinks uses scented lotion and it is overwhelming! It was on the bag my muffin was put in and on coffee cup. The smell was so overwhelming everytime I went to take a sip of my Latte I had to through it out. 3rd time this has happened to me so I might not be back.

It’s nice to go to a coffee shop where you can linger and your $5 cup buys you an experience and not just a transaction. This place reminds me of the coffee shops in the 90s with unique character and charm. Try anything maple!

Such a cute fun little coffee shop in downtown White Bear Lake. They have a variety of fun drinks and pastries. The seating is a bit limited because the coffee shop is fairly small, but I loved the variety of eating areas available. I tried the maple latte with cinnamon sprinkled on top. I'm lactose intolerant and they had milk alternatives.

Update: I've been back several times because it's a great location, the drinks are good, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the employees are kind. I love the seasonal fun drink ideas they create, which are a bit of fun. There is a Christian background to the coffeeshop, which I absolutely love. I had a pistachio and vanilla latte with oatmilk and it was amazing. I tried three scones over the past two times I've been there and they are almost rubbery (and I LOVE scones!), so I think I'll skip them next time. Sign up for the rewards program!

Local Cafe that encapsulates the warm and cozy feeling a small town can bring. Decor is eclectic with the charm of vintage treasures that have found a second life giving customers a place to relax or work.

So glad to see they have endured through the Pandemic. Even with the staff issues everyone is having, Anchor Coffee has the sweetest, nicest baristas who can make a perfect turtle mocha. Great space, good ambiance & great coffee!

My favorite coffee shop! Located in lovely downtown White Bear Lake, the baristas are friendly and fast. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Great place to study, work, chat, read, listen to live music and drink delicious coffee! Highly recommend!!

I cannot say enough great things about Anchor Coffee! Not only is the coffee and food great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and best of all the staff is wonderful! They went above and beyond to help us plan a special event for a friend of ours. The day was perfect and everyone was so great! Thanks Anchor for being such a great part of the WBL community!

What a hidden gem! Came here for a lunch discussion, and really liked the laid-back atmosphere and yummy sandwich. The menu is super simple, just two choices for sandwiches, but you couldn't go wrong with either choice the day I was there.

I had the chicken salad and loved it. The chicken was incredibly tender, the bun was super fresh and soft, and the portion was generous to say the least.

Staff was really friendly and attentive, and all in all we had a marvelous time. Recommended!
