East Orange Police Department

I want to publicly thank the law enforcement officers of East Orange NJ. I'm from Chicago, but my son lives in East Orange and he has had contact with the East Orange NJ law enforcement department. On February 13, 2020, my was fired son from his job. Later that evening the police were called, because of a noise complaint. I'm sure that my son was quite upset and maybe less than polite. I have heard of African American men, shot by the police for little nothing. My son is managing depression with manic episodes. I'm not sure if the responding officers were aware of it, I doubt it, but they were PROFESSIONAL all the same. My son received the necessary attention that he needed. Every day since I received the call that the police were called to my son's apartment, I have been extremely grateful for the officers that responded to that call.

East orange PD. Not glad to say I was happy to be in there but I did wrong and you guys was doing your job. The arresting policemen where not to nice but considering the area I was in. I cnt blame them. They have to be rough wit everyone I guess. The Sargent in command while I was there Was very nice. Very professional individual. He was understanding and very attentive made sure my rights where met. I must say. I cnt really complain Bcus I was there a couple hrs almost a whole day. I saw they answer every single call they got. They treated every prisoner wit respect even when they was uptight becus of the situation they were in. I have no complaints towards them. I wish I can give them a 10 because I really really think they are GREAT. Thank you for the nice stay while I was there. I cnt say hope to see me bk lol Bcus I dnt but. Keep Up the great work East Orange PD. 👌👍💪🏼

Officer Jackson went above and beyond and should be commended. It's not easy being an Officer and he went out of his way to ensure safety. His efforts were greatly appreciated.

Great PD, very professional and theyre busy w a lot of crime. Also my 2 favorite Detectives work there. They are overworked and underpaid

East Orange Police Department in my opinion is one of the greatest police departments in the world. This is to all them haters

One of the best investigatives unit in the north east . If you're a drug dealers don't do it in East Orange they will get you. Lol. I'm very proud of these men and women of the EOPD.

At work, to day is Friday for me: thank god its Friday: I'll have a cocktail smile

I have had several encounters with EOPD. Some officers are professional and courteous (even when I wasn't totally so), others let the authority go to their heads or the stress of the job affect them. Today, I just had a white-shirted officer try to intimidate me because I wouldn't show ID and tell someone else to lock me in at a city facility. She told me I could call the police to get out. I also had one arrest me because she thought I was talking about her to another officer and arrested me because of that (Officer GF). The officers at the jail "lost" my paperwork, causing me to be in the cell an extra day. I didn't realize what chaos the department is in.

It's sad what we have to put with as citizens. The attitude of the staff that answers the phone always horrible and no help what's so ever.

The lady at the front desk in the evenings always has an attitude and act like you are bothering her when you approach the desk. The cops offer no help they just tell you what's done is done can't change anything.
