Black Swan Espresso - Specialty Coffee and Tea

Great little cafe in the heart of Newark. Stopped in before my flight for an espresso and small snack. The blueberry muffin was amazing great ratio of blueberry to muffin. The espresso was also very good pretty standard blend. The toasted bagel with cream cheese was the best part. Not sure where they get their bagels but super good. The inside is nice with a small seating area as well as a nice outdoor seating area. Unfortunately no restroom. Great friendly staff.

The lady here knows how to make a fantastic London Fog. It's one of my favorite drinks but almost no one makes them well. I'll be back just for this reason. I also had gotten a few pastries and breads, so far each one I've had was great. The place itself is very cute, and has limited seating if you want to stay there a while. It's well located along commute roads if you are looking for a to go coffee, though I just stopped in to relax.

Black Swan is my favorite spot in Newark for espresso drinks. Quality is consistently high, prices are fair, and staff is always friendly. The baristas know what they are doing.

In city for week and this special, delicious espresso house jumped my engine every morning. Lovely host and barista turning out cappuccino perfection! Thank you for being here for community! 5 Stars!

This is cool spot, I honestly never Knew was here in the City of Newark for quite some time. The location is a tiny space but fills up with so many customers. If you are looking for a nice safe place away from the Hustle & Bustle of Newarks Downtown Life & want some real good coffee or tea. Definitely got to try paying a visit to the Black Swan, the place smells great walking in and the vibes are chill. Employees are cool, respectful and know how to throw down. Such yumminess with muffins, oatmeal, cheddar scones, good Salads and flavor packed sandwiches.

Was recommended to come here and it did not disappoint. Gigi took so much care to suggest a drink for me, and make this beautiful design. I didn’t try a treat but they looked delicious.

Inviting, friendly, and great vibe! I had the London Fog. It was good. I ordered the Avocado toast, but they were out.

Great smooth flavored coffee served in a tiny shop with great pastries and friendly baristas.
Only downside is it is not wheelchair accessible.

This is a cute little coffee shop right on Halsey St. The people that work here are very friendly and make you feel at home. I tried to hibiscus donut and it tastes as good as it looks. They have free wifi and you can sit around and get some work done while sipping on your coffee and nibbling on their sweet treats. Give them a try!

my first time here and I'm coming back, cappuccino was delicious and apple fritter was yummy. I highly recommend it

Wow!! Just WOW! Quite possibly the best cortado I've ever had, and I frequent all the "best" bespoke espresso shops in Manhattan (not to mention the year that my wife and I lived in Seattle, partaking of their finest).

The espresso draw was perfection. Not a trace of acidity, just pure and just right. And the temperature -- also just right. The barista's attention to detail: outstanding!!

Renting a place close by, we had the luck to find the Black Swan. As spoiled Europeans (spoiled with excellent coffee in Italy, Germany and France) we were on the lookout for something comparable in NYC during our 12-day strolling around as tourists. But there was no café that even came close to the Black Swan. However, it is not just the excellent cappuccino but also the super relaxed atmosphere and the super friendly guys who run it. Just regret that we did not have the opportunity to visit more often.

Black Swan Espresso is a beautiful little spot a little off the main street. This coffee shop was pretty small, a total of two seats at the window, one two seater table inside although and two tables outside. When we walked in, there were about 8 people making the place a little packed.

The baristas were very friendly, they immediately greeted us when we walked in the door. They were patient with us while we made a few mistakes ordering our drinks.

We ordered a black coffee, a mocha latte, and an iced chai tea latte.

Everything was delicious, absolutely no complaints. The dark roast coffee was tasty, it had an interesting flavor, very different from other coffee I've had, which was a delightful bonus. The mocha latte was perfect and made slightly sweet to enjoy the flavor. We ordered a hot chai latte by accident but the barista was willing to make it iced despite it costing a little more. The iced chai latte was packed full of flavor and was perfectly not too sweet!

Watched the barista make a matcha milk tea for another customer the true relaxed way; mixing powder in a matcha bowl with steaming hot water and stirring with authentic whisk, before adding to the milk tea. Perfect!

Headed back home to Chicago today, but we are happy to have found this little nook in Jersey to enjoy before our flight home! Definitely will stay in the area again our next visit and come back to the unique... Black Swan

Best coffee in NJ. Great space with friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Always a joy to drop in for hot or cold coffee or tea. My faves are drip, cortado, or iced tea or mocha for a treat. Grateful for the owner and Adam, who are very generous and kind.

Great coffee, awesome staff, I ask for a cold brew with a lotta oatmilk and they deliver with an actual lot 😭 (don't judge me). Haven't had any pastries yet but recommend!

Just had the Avocado toast....it is to die for!!! Fresh, delicious, just a bit of spicy kick. Requested to have the bread toasted a little longer to give it a nice crunch.

Top notch coffee! Seriously the baristas do magic here. Very smooth flavor on cappuccino and lattes. I like the photography on the walls as well, makes for a cool little space to take a coffee break.
