Hunterdon County Arboretum

Scenic spot for walks and admiring natural wonders. Oldest two-story gazebo (1893) in New Jersey. Garden, paths, pond, streams, and more than enough walking trails. Grounds in good condition. Critters and fauna abound; we came across a tree of vultures picking apart a deer carcass.

Family friendly. There is a guide/map in the facility. Takes around 2 hours.

Great place for a walk or picnic. Nice gardens. Lots of paths including a boardwalk over the wetlands.

Easy access, clean, safe and all information needed to enjoy it. Get you camera as ready as your lungs but please clean after your dog.

A little wet after snow melt, but a fine place for a stroll. There are a couple miles worth of trails on the property. Dogs are permitted on leash. Lots of mature and interesting trees.

The arboretum is a beautiful place for photos, a picnic, or to just spend the day. There are awesome photo opportunity spots like a bridge, gardens, pond with a fountain, and archways. The grounds are well maintained and overall it is a very nice place. Remember to carry out what you bring in and keep the space clean.

Beautifully kept lands. Easy to get to, and welcome respite from the bustle of the sorounding areas. The trails are beautiful and teaming with wildlife. The central gazebo is perfect for photography or weddings. Perfect light during the day as well.

Fun little area hidden across from a highway. Our dog loved it too. But we did have a couple of ticks on us when we left so be sure to check yourself after!

This place is sneaky big. Plan on at least 2 hours to see everything. Of course, the things to see vary by season. I suggest going at least once a season. Better yet, focus on a few things, then visit oftener (is that a word?). That way, you will be able to see the plants specimens fuul cycle of growth.

Its always a great place to see nature. Great place to walk and not be pushed.
Must go inside to see all the other amazing creatures and things.

Just lovely. Not the biggest place, but a nice way to kill some time while looking at flowers.
