Great Indian Restaurant!
The food was delicious and the staff were really nice and friendly. I always see this restaurant but never got the chance to try it and I was missing, the chicken Makhani was delicious as well as the naan bread with fig, and the pistacho dessert. The food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. The service was great too, the two guys who helped us were above and beyond to make sure they could accommodate to my food request and when my boyfriend ask about the filling of his naan, they brought a new one to make sure he was happy! This wasn’t necessary but talks highly of their customer service.

I thought it about time I wrote a review for this place because it's consistently delivered delicious food and great service and has become my favorite local Indian restaurant over the years.

The food is always fresh and I highly recommend their Chicken Makhani and their garlic naan! I've tried many of their other dishes too but those two menu items are my favorites. You can get the food customized for your spiciness tolerance and it's a wonderful restaurant to take your vegetarian friends too if you want a place that has great dishes for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.

The service is wonderful and the staff actually cares about your experience there. Even when the place is busy, they check in on you and helpfully suggest some good options to try so it's a great place for those who are new to Indian food as well.

What a breath of fresh air in finding a delicious and satisfying meal with the cutest little atmosphere.

Really was surprised by the amount of options & was happy that neither quality or quantity was compromised.

Found this gem on a work trip & happy I took the leap of faith. With so many options around, the clay oven has definitely proven by its the best around. 10/10.

We have been going to Clay Oven Ledgewood for over 13 years. It is the only Indian food we order. We’ve tried several other restaurants in and out of state/country and we choose to get our Indian food fix when we are home and are able to go to Clay Oven because we like it that much. Every dish is made to order, and if I wish to make an adjustment to my dish the restaurant always accommodates my request. We eat in and take away; either way we order everything turns out as expected and delicious. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.

Been looking for a good Indian restaurant for around 5y. Recently moved to the area and they absolutely nailed it! Will definitely be back. Great food, quiet and intimate atmosphere. Affordable priced and good portions. Definitely recommend the clay oven!

Best Authentic Indian food in town. Exceptionally friendly and polite staff. The food is always delicious and fresh, I order from this place every week, sometimes 2 to 3 times a week, and I was never deceived. I would recommend it to anyone looking for richness in flavors.

Amazing hidden gem in Ledgewood! Authentic Indian cuisine! I finally found a great place for Indian food lovers along with tons of vegan & gluten-free options! I will definitely be regular. Service is really gr8& they are always there to help with the menu.

Good desi restaurants in New jersey, food was ok and service was also ok.

I have been coming to the restaurant for the past 25 years almost weekly. The food has always been fresh and lip smacking . We have now moved to Pennsylvania and visited the restaurant last night for dinner. Brought back so many fond memories. The quality of food and taste has been maintained for 25 years.

A nice indian restaurant which is located very close to the bj. We came for the Thali and they were great. Taste wise and portion wise it was really good. It had just enough to fill your stomach.

We enjoyed the food and also had masala Chai which was good too.

The owners are really nice and it was a pleasure chatting with them.

The food tasted very homely and gave my family and I so much warmth. The service was lovely and impeccable. I recommend the garlic bread, tasted very crispy and soft. The chicken was juicy and had a nice thick and flavorful coating with a sauce of your choice.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Service was fast, food and dessert were amazing! Definitely recommend! The fig naan appetizer was amazing, the lamb meatballs, chicken masala etc etc. the rice pudding was a perfect ending.

We came for the lunch Thali and they were great. You have veg and non veg thali available which range from $12 -$15. The food was freshly made and tasted good. It was like home made food with less spices. Will come here again while visiting bjs.

I just visited The Clay Oven for the first time and I am so pleased with the food and the wonderful people who helped me. I was hosting a 2 day event and ordered a ton of food, and Sunil and Sanjay were so kind and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious, packaged up so nicely, and was all ready when I came to pick it up. I was even advised how to heat up a certain dessert to have it taste the best, and it was delectable. I absolutely recommend the Clay Oven, and I will definitely be a returning customer! Thank you!

I come here all of the time with my family and we absolutely love it. We always switch up what we get and every time it’s our new favorite dish. They have the best service and we just absolutely love it! The paneer mahkani is my favorite entree and you have to try the kulfi for dessert!

Great food! I ordered yellow dal and saag paneer( Indian cottage cheese in spinach). Made me feel like I’m having my mom’s home cooked food. Less oil, less spice,less salt.

This was our first time at The Clay Oven and we cannot wait to go back. It was a warm and welcoming environment, almost like we were dining in the owner’s own home. It’s rare to get that feeling from a business and it did not go unnoticed. The only misstep we had was only order one garlic naan when we really needed one for each of us. We kept our choices a little safe this go round, but butter chicken and the clay oven cooked chicken were both excellent - I’m looking forward to trying something a bit more exotic next time. The restaurant has been there for decades and now I can see why; plus kicking myself for not going sooner.

Food was delicious! Our waiter, Sonjay, was very nice! He recommended the Lamb Korma which was fantastic!

Got the Lamb Saag for dinner with my mom it was really good. My mom ordered something else and she loved it as well. The Naan 🫓 was really good as well. Would definitely go back.
